In terms of talent yes, but college (and especially AAU and high school) doesn't prepare players for the NBA like the European system. The two teams in the national championship this year played about as far from NBA basketball as is legally allowed. Yuro basketball runs higher level stuff than most NBA teams, just at about half the speed. If players can adjust to the athleticism of the NBA, they've already got the groundwork laid, whereas American players typically have to wait until they get to the NBA before they actually get to learn basketball.

It's not about the sport itself, it's about the sport system. And it's not yuros, it's literally the whole world besides Mexico, USA and Canada

I don't know why but you unironically think the college sports and draft system are "natural" but in the rest of the world and in every single sport clubs have youth academies and players get moved to the first (pro) team when they are ready, could be at 16, 18, 20, whenever they are ready

They're natural because they evolved naturally from the social institutions that were in place when the sport gained popularity. The system will probably have to evolve again if our players really start to fall behind, but we can't just hit the reset button and adopt a foreign system overnight.

But your leagues would be even better if you adopted the international system, at least for basketball. As far as I know not many players younger than 22 are ready to play American football so it'll be irrelevant in that sport to change
