I think they set up bottas to be a second driver I don't think he's a worst driver but his mental is weaker Nico clearly has the (over)confidence necessary to be a wdc like Ham said you can't be the a WDC or the best at what you do if don't believe yourself to be the best
Henry Russell
Given that he read out the Toto fanfic I feel this has to be true.

Bottas is Hamilton's Barrichello, some wins here and there, and pole here and there but overall is outclassed and obeys his master no matter what.
Justin King
I would say so. He achieved what he wanted and got out with nothing to prove. Now he's a successful businessman with a happy family. He's living every mans dream...
You seem to be thinking that I'm as much of a Vettel fan as you are up Hamiltons arse. Sorry, but that's not the case. Just stating that MOST drivers are able to to win the WCC when they win their WDC. Nothing impressive about it, retard. Yet Hamilton failed to do so. Nothing you should be praising him for, really.
But, hey, we've already established that you'd rather argue strawmen than admit how moronic you behave.

Well his team mate was Massa post brain damage and bulling by Alonso for years, not amazing competition.
And really Rubens was pretty much on par with Bottas, his first years (2000-2001) were truly awful sure (1 pole, 1 win), but after that he matches Bottas with ease, 4 wins, 3 poles in 2002, 2 wins and 3 poles in 2003 and 2 wins and 4 poles in 2004.
Against the mighty Bottas 3 wins and 4 poles in 2017, 0 wins and 2 poles in 2018 and 2 wins and 3 poles now.
8 wins and 10 poles vs 5 wins and 9 poles.
Barrichello reborn.

You’ve literally argued that it’s not impressive to win the WDC by a lot because it’s too easy and also not impressive to win the WDC by a little because that means you didn’t dominate.
And you call me an idiot?
Austin Roberts
It's a hard fact for smooth brains to comprehend, that Lewis might have got better
Eli Bell
Or is it just that every championship won by a driver you don’t like is invalid?

Why does he always have to say "Get in there Lewis". It's orders of magnitude more annoying than Lewis winning another race. >HURRR DURR I HAVE A SMALL PENIS SITTING HERE ON THE PIT WALL >OH BOY I GET TO SAY MY CATCH PHRASE I'm sure he masturbates to all the #getintherelewis tweets and stuff. My viceral hatred of Mr.GetinthereLewis may be irrational but it certainly is real.
>An American claiming Hamilton is the GOAT >when he still hasn't eclipsed Schumacher >probably thinks Lebron is GOAT >probably thinks Klitschko is GOAT Fangio is the GOAT Wilt is the GOAT Ali is the GOAT Hammo sucks Lelbron sucks Klitschko sucks I don't care if Fangio wouldn't be as fast as today's drivers. I don't care that Ali was too small to have a hope of competing against modern heavyweights. I don't care if-actually no, Wilt would be a modern day great too.

>You’ve literally argued that it’s not impressive to win the WDC by a lot because it’s too easy and also not impressive to win the WDC by a little because that means you didn’t dominate. Exactly: I've argued that winning the WDC doesn't mean that much at all. It's not very impressive unless the winner had to earn that win. Who was even the last WDC who won in a clearly inferior car? I honestly can't remember. Raikönnen, maybe. Wasn't "clearly" inferior though.
No WDC is "invalid", shithead. Again, stop the strawmanning if you want me to take you seriously. If you continue putting words in my mouth we might as well stop arguing altogether.
Nolan Cruz

Adrian Baker
You know that that shitter just cares about statistics, not about how they came to be, don't you? I assume you've read his fanboy tirades in the last thread.
The normal American is all about stats, they don't see skills just stats, if you have better stats you're better, see how the american sports are all about stats and how can you stat pad better.
See how they love to suck Messi's cock because he is destroying awful spanish teams every week, and defend him like he was the fucking president of the USA when he does his usual do nothing against real teams, the stats can't lie, he can't be a choker.

You make it out as if an “easy” championship doesn’t still require an incredible amount of work for the driver, which I think is flat out wrong.
Cameron Watson
Reminder that if you care about drivers, overtakes and action instead of the technological and strategical battle between the teams you should fuck off back to r/formula1.
Tyler Bennett
No. f1metrics.wordpress.com/2015/10/08/the-most-dominant-teams-in-f1-history/ >As discussed in the 2007 season review, the model considers the F2007 a significantly better car than the MP4/22. While the advantage swung between the teams on different weekends, Ferrari had the advantage more often, evidenced by their 9 poles, 12 fastest laps, and 9 wins in 17 rounds. With Michelin exiting the sport, Ferrari were anticipated to gain an advantage through their long-term relationship with Bridgestone, and so it proved. McLaren were surely helped by the stolen technical information they received from disgruntled Ferrari employee Nigel Stepney, but were still on the backfoot in terms of performance for most of the year. Ultimately, McLaren narrowly lost both titles, although the closeness of the fight was a huge credit to the quality of their drivers — arguably the two greatest drivers of their generation. Later, we saw how each of Ferrari’s 2007 drivers measured up to Alonso in equal equipment, albeit with some team favoritism towards Alonso. The results were extraordinarily lopsided — even more so than Schumacher vs. Barrichello.
Julian Sanders
You don't really win the wdc with a clearly inferior car except with luck or something, it has to be somewhat close, not miles away like the current Mercedes years, maybe before the modern ultra reliable era and with less races you could do it, but not now.
The one that got closer was Kimi in 2003, reused 2002 car with fixes the entire season that became absolutely slow as the season went on and the 3rd best car, only Gimi inmense performance kept that shit close.
Ryan Howard
Is there anything more semen slurping than arguing that your favourite driver is the GOAT?
Connor Reyes
Arguing that your favourite gimmick poster is GOAT?
Nah, just because he nearly bottled it, that doesn't mean that the McLaren wasn't the best car.
>You make it out as if an “easy” championship doesn’t still require an incredible amount of work for the driver, Hamilton is known for slacking off in a good amount of races each season. And he can easily afford it in that Mercedes of his. Also, again: I've not once claimed that it doesn't require "an incredible amount of work". You're just strawmanning again. I was saying that the WDC is not necessarily the best racer of the year. Which is very uncontroversial. Unless you're a Hamilton fanboy, of course ...
That's a lot of speculation, postulation and omission of factors such as drivers and luck. No, Ferrari was not the CLEARLY better car. At most, it had a very very slight edge.
Bentley Perry
Nah usual British BS, the Mclaren was a fusion of Ferrari and Mclaren tech, also most of the Ferrari wins were after the USA GP, when the whole spy shit began, it isn't a coincidence.
In tracks like the usa gp the Mclaren was insanely fast, a second in qualy, way more than "Alonso beat Kimi 1 season, tied with Hamilton 1 season, so the Mclaren must be way inferior" could count for it, and since Button beat Hamilton, was Brawn GP actually shit? just driven by the greatest driver who was unlucky with cars? Would have Button become champion with ease in 2010 and 2012 with Ferrari?
In Monaco the Mclaren were a minute ahead of Massa (3rd place) and lapped everyone else.
How come Kimi got a few poles and a win in the inferior Ferrari against the mighty Hamilton in a Mercedes if he is so slow? cause you ain't gonna claim the Mercedes actually was the underdog...
The Mclaren was the best car and the Ferrari only got somewhat close late season, that post is just the usual Alonso and Hamilton dick sucking.

Quick reminder that according to the F1metrics guy Vanslow was a top 10 driver in his entire F1 career, better than most of the grid, only because he wasn't that off "Mr. Divine Laps" Alonso.
Vandoorne must be wrecking Formula E right now after all it's filled with worse ranking guys and that dude is elite.
Magnussen said it best "I can't wait for him to retire", at least we finally have one season when you can't have some guy telling you that Alonso is the undisputed GOAT and if he was in the Ferrari/Red Bull he would have been champion easily.
I like the guy but there are plenty of fans that would take his dick and suck it clean.
I just got home to work, about to open a coke and watch the highlights I hope it was a fun race, heard there were lots of penalties and LeClerc fought with Bottas so I'm sure it'll be exciting as heck

Rosberg actually seems like the exact opposite of Alonso considering his decisions. He changed to Merc when they were just building up and was learning from one of the greatest, later he fucked off at his peak and lives rent free in Lewlew's head. I'd say he's a chad and very much elite

Lads. Lads. Can he beat Michael Schumacher?
Unless something goes severely wrong, he's got a sixth title wrapped up. So then he just needs one more title to match Schumacher. And Mercedes don't look like they'll be giving up their dominant spot any time soon. Ferrari, their closest competitors, look far adrift.
I think he can really do it lads. I think Lewis can become the most successful F1 driver to have ever lived.

Raghunathan reached the threshold of 12 penalty points in Saturday’s race which triggers an automatic ban. However the rules state the ban applies from the the “next event”. As Sunday’s sprint race is considered part of the same two-race event, his ban does not apply until this weekend’s double-header in Austria.
FIA race director Michael Masi said the unusual situation was a consequence of F2 adopting the same rules used in F1, where each event consists of only one race.
“It’s probably an unintended consequence,” said Masi in response to a question from RaceFans on Sunday at Paul Ricard. “The penalty points regulations, from my understanding – obviously not having been around when they were designed – [were] obviously designed on a Formula One event with one race, not two.
“The regulations are quite specific, being effectively a mirror to a degree of each other, that it’s non-participation in the next event and an event is the entire weekend.
“It’s one of those that we sort of had a long chat about but yeah he [was] allowed to participate today and it’s something we’ll look at with the steering group and go from there. Which is how those regulations are formed.”
Raghunathan’s ban follows a string of offences in his first nine races as an F2 driver. “That’s why the penalty point structure to be quite honest is the same, [in] F1, F2, F3,” said Masi. “It’s to effectively track behavior and go from there.” Mahaveer Raghunathan’s F2 penalties

Wolff, whose team have now won 10 successive races, told Reuters that online trolling was "starting to get out of control".
"The trolling that happens in social media has become so bad," he said. "People hide behind anonymous, or not even anonymous, accounts and hit out, which after some of these events has been really bad. Canada was pretty bad. To polarise is good, and it can be an emotional and heated discussion.
"But I think it has come to a point where sometimes the heated discussion around the sport is becoming abuse and becoming personal and I don't think that has a place in sport.
"At first it's hard to swallow, but it's come to a point that it's making us stronger, every hit creates more desire to prove."
Parker Torres
>online trolling was "starting to get out of control" His own offline trolling has gotten out of control a long time ago.
Says Dr. Marko, by way of putting down rumours about in-season replacement. I'd just like to put out the possible double-meaning, in English, that his sentence could also be interpreted as "We are planning to end...." the "season with Gasly." As in, we are planning to end the "Gasly season at RBR."

I don't still get why anyone would say that Bottas is better than Ricciardo. Yes, Valtteri is quite good in quali, but that's it. And he's not Hamilton-good.
General racecraft? Ricciardo, not even close.
Tyre management? Ricciardo, Bottas is IMHO one of the worst in this regard.
Passing ability? Ricciardo, and yes, the divebomb meme is true. But usually it's the only way to get past in this current era bar DRS flybys.
And guess what makes the biggest difference between these two? Ricciardo's uncanny, almost Verstappen-like ability to pull out passes and good results out of thin air. How many times you've seen Bottas' finishing in positions where his car simply didn't belong?
Never. The only blood Valtteri smells is his own periods.

Business idea: if team wins WCC 5 years in a row, they have to share their car technical data to competitors, and the opposition is free to copy the entire thing. this kills xWL

Abiteboul motorsport.com/f1/news/budget-cap-force-renault-increase-spending/4476757/ TLDR Renault probably won't increase spending unless shareholders think they can win.

Willy getting bought up by Merc when?
John Morales
Far from entirely blameless but still a Scapegoat. Williams have had mediocre aero for god knows how long but had the massively superior Merc powerplant to carry their ass.

What is the difference between Rio & Interlagos tracks? Would the government be willing to throw enough dosh at getting 2 races one for Brazil & one for the region like German/Luxembourg GPs or modern US GPs?
Hudson Miller
No way this is done by 2021 if they still need to find funding for it. I’m doubtful it would happen even if they started construction today.
Gabriel Martinez
the money is already there, they just need permission from the environment agency to start construction

doesn't look near a favela either, also >buying huge plots of land in rich areas how does this work in germany?
there is no RIo circuit, they will build one
Blake Turner
They should add more races to the calendar before replacing old ones, plenty of 2 week gaps between races and the pointless summer break.
Tyler Wright
Land buying in Germany is kinda strange, it depends on the impact for the region. When the Frankfurt airport wanted their new landing strip they offered a rather low amount of money and had the state government put the pressure on the owner (a city neighbouring the airport) to sell or to be expropriated
Adrian Thomas
>pointless summer break. >pointless this year it will be a sweet release of our MWL misery

Michael Sanchez
>government put the pressure on the owner (a city neighbouring the airport) to sell or to be expropriated Germany is a capitalist country, they say Here works like that too, but the idea is to make this new circuit without government money and with minimal state inteference in it
No idea then, that was just the best example of such a large project realized in the last years I had. But usually our government is always rather happy to raze a village or two for brown coal mining so I think Liberty providing the cash would give them free reign
Yeah but that isn't in any way surprising because he is a shit driver. Not that Mini Schumi is surprising either, people just somehow seem to except he is a GOAT because he had a magical quarter of a season total in his overall career so far.
Friendly reminder that Gasly and Vandoorne both came relatively close to actually winning Super Formula in their debut season.
Alexander Long
I wish they did a city circuit in my city so they'd fix the fucking roads
Wyatt Sanders
the track needs to be built and Rio is stupidly fucking hot and dangerous in the summer.
People always complain about Monaco but at least it has great quali. And if it rains it chaos.
There are so many other tracks that need to fuck off from the calendar as soon as possible. I don't even mind a boring Monaco once a year because at least there's some chance of something strange happening. But tracks like China, Russia, Mexico (fight me IRL the track is a pile of shit), Abu Dhabi are almost always just pure uneventful horse shit with maybe some meaningless DRS overtakes.
Even from the "older" tracks, something like Spain or Silvershit could be given a rest for a few years. And I would be personally ok with dropping Monza for a few years as well if it means we get Imola or Mugello which won't happen.
Jeremiah Peterson
Hating Monaco is reddit, therefore Liberty will make a move to kill it.
Colton Perry
>implying Mercedes won't win every race of the season >implying Hamilton won't secure WDC by Singapore >implying FIA will change anything for next season to stop MWL
At this point I'm only hoping that Mercedes wins every race just because it will hurt the product so much that Liberty essentially have to do something about it if they want anyone to care lol
Jacob Ward
They're already doing all they can or did you miss the meme videos?
Gabriel Brown
Spain will be dropped next year

i was with you almost all the way, then you said to drop Monza..

>Mugello I am erect. I also agree with that sentiment. Russia Mexico and France are incredibly boring and they aren't the only ones. Get rid of them.
Austria is butchered and we need the original ring back. I also prefer the mid 2000s Silverstone and not the new one with the Wellington straight but it still a good track overall. Interlagos should stay as well.
Mugello would get killed by (((FIA GRADE 1))) track

The problem is that they don't pick tracks for how entertaining they are (which would be the tasteful choice) but for how many spectators they can jew in and how close they are to the airports/population centers.
Julian Campbell
*ahem* fuck mercedes *drops mike* *gets drive through pebalty for trolling*
Robert Flores
Red Bull wanted to reopen the classic layout (for historics) but the lcoal townspeople said it would make too much noise
Christopher Sanchez
Unironically think they should go back to Indy. DRS would make the lack of passing a non issue and I’m sure the speedway could think of some way to modify the current track to suit F1
Aaron Flores

Silverstone has been trash ever since 1991. It should be removed as soon as humanly possible.
Liberty will be on suicide watch when Hammy retires Rosberg style after stat padding himself to "GOAT".
Before that though they will have locked at least 5 North American cities to decade long street circuit contracts.
It really won't be that long until most of the tracks on the calendar will be shitty street circuits in cities that don't give a shit about F1 to "get the action closer to the fans". The other half of tracks will be Tilkedromes or DROME'd classic tracks. Spa is basically full Drome tier at this point with all its run off, only vaguely saved by the fact that the layout is still relatively untouched.
Anthony White
>amx qualifies P5 or whatever the car is capable of >stays in P5 for the whole race because impossible to overtake >Hamilton cruises from pole to victory with a 20 second margin to P2 cuckas >0 overtakes by anyone during the race whilst Pirelli deems the banking to be too severe and manufactures a special EXTRA HARD compound which has no grip but also does not degrade at all >Hamilton GETS IN THERE and thanks the greatest fans who are actively booing him >9999999999 Dutch people who got jewed into buying tickets remember it will take them a minimum of two days to get back home because of traffic chimp out and destroy the entire track >Zandvoort is never raced at or mentioned again
The only good thing that can happen with the Dutch GP
Tyler Wright
>Liberty will be on suicide watch when Hammy retires Because they only care about the 'Murican audience and that one's only in it for the psuedo-American rapper. Once Hamilton retires, we can at least hope that FIA will be less biased in their decisions ... then again, they'll probably find another driver to push and protect. My bet's on Verstappen.
Jaxson Bennett
>The only good thing that can happen with the Dutch GP Oh no >Pirelli makes shit tyres (like always) >Uber fuel load on lap 1 >Hammo is in P1 already pushing >Tyres explode on the banking >Hammo dies >Red flag right away >Zandvoort is dropped
In this case you drop Zandvoort AND Hamilton dies
Aaron Scott

>1 poo out, 1 poo in Maini is back, at Campos BTFOing weird Jules Boccolacci Also O'Ward replaces Ragù for Austria, no MarkeGOD at MP this time
Josiah Allen
>Hamilton dies Hamilton doesn't need to die. Just hope he breaks a leg or something at the season's midpoint so he's out of the season and his replacement can't possibly rake up enough points to win the WDC despite the car and we get a Vettel/Bottas battle or something.
Kayden Sullivan
>Hamilton dies and becomes a Senna-tier legend this, just an injury that'll prevent him from fighting for the WDC
Elijah Diaz
>implying international media company is so dumb that they only care about the fans in USA which makes up a miniscule % of their fanbase They have been pondering adding more races in the US and taking even more beloved classics away from Europe. They are also tailoring each and every GP for the American market, where it's more about the show than the sport (interviews in the parc fermé, for example). They also added cringeworthy "Entrance of the Gladiators" on Sunday before the race to their US GP.
Yes, it is incredibly stupid, but they are pandering to common Ameritards. (Not even the actual fans there were in the US before, but basically the same kind of casual fan that watches the Superbowl for the halftime-show.)
Luke Nelson
What is Liberty Media
Yeah if Hamilton dies the circlejerk around him will never stop.
Senna was regarded as talented but he was also extremely controversial, of course this is now never brought up again because he died on the track.
Brandon Barnes
Well no shit they try to grow their fanbase retard. That doesn't mean that they don't know that Europe makes up the biggest part of their viewership.
Daniel Sullivan

Eli Davis
>Well no shit they try to grow their fanbase retard. They are effectively shrinking the core fanbase though. Not one single decision they made has sat well with that core fanbase, and the new "fanbase" they attract is small, feeble and volatile.
Just go faggot, if I weren't stuck in burgerland I'd love to go to any Grand Prix weekend. Life goal is to go to Monaco with a yacht, some scantily clad women, and a Red Gimi Ferrai hat.
