Literally all chords have been discovered and used already, why aren't people worried about this?
Its obvious we should move beyond 12 TET if we want new sounds
Literally all chords have been discovered and used already, why aren't people worried about this?
people dont want new sounds
BUILT
not all chord combinations have been used.
Wrong, give me an unheard progression right now!
Everything, every possible combination has been used by the Classical and Jazz people already, there's nothing left to do
Bump
ok
You are not worried? Its extremely frustrating if you want to compose music, everything has been done already, I was born to late for music and too soon also because we still dont have a new microtonal system
No. Because you can do it better.
If that's a girl it's the cutest girl ever
If that's a boy it's the ugliest boy ever.
Bump
so? music is not just melody. there still remains unexplored timbres, rhythms, and lyrical themes
Careful with the cope there
Yeah I know :(
But everything I said is true tho
there are so many flavors and ways music can be expressed that you needn't worry
it's not
you're implying every song that has the same chords next to each other sounds exactly the same
Look at the size of his ring finger
They are the same harmonically, I care about harmony, and harmony has collapsed ever since the 20th century
I'm talking about new sounds, can you imagine what it felt when Monteverdi first started using dominant seventh chords and figuring out tonality? or Beethoven when he started modulating to distant keys where no one has ever been before?
Or when Debussy started using extended chords and non-functional harmony, unheard sounds, innovation
We dont have that anymore, everything has been done already, its just math.
>Literally all colors have been used and discovered.
Why paint?
Why paint?
To express ourselves, but your analogy is very Icky because there are countless of colors but only 12 notes, thats why I said we have to move beyond 12 TET
>when Monteverdi first started using dominant seventh chords and figuring out tonality? or Beethoven when he started modulating to distant keys where no one has ever been before?
>Or when Debussy started using extended chords and non-functional harmony, unheard sounds, innovation
My point was mostly that 'it is what you make it'.
You want new toys and are ignoring your old ones.
Between augmented, suspended, diminished, adjusted, 7ths, 9ths, and beyond there are many more than 12 to choose from.
it's easy dude
take your guitar and tune 3 of the strings to something different, then try coming up with something
false
we have already defined all visible colors that the human brain is capable of rendering with visual input
The point remains, lotta colors but only 12 notes
There's 3 colors. Red, Yellow, and Green and you can combine them together to make unlimited options.
The same is true of music. It's the same shit. Painting is the same shit as music. Why even bother. Why not just jack off to Osacio Cortez's stinky feet that smell so dirty after being at work all god damn day? Yeah, those stinky ass sweaty ass feet in my face sure would be a god damn piece of art. Fuck.
Theres honestly nothing stopping you from experimenting with microtonal stuff. You may have to go beyond western instruments and look at Indian instruments but the music exist for you to find.
nah he looks like a power bottom
