He wanted the Lakers from the start. Woj clearly stated he wanted LAL. Throughout the entire season, Cris Carter clearly stated he was still focused on LAL, not LAC. I don’t buy the Clipper talk for a second.
After winning the title, he consistently referred to the Raptors and Toronto as “they” and “them”, not “we” and “us”.
He has proven everything he has to. Two time champ, two time finals MVP, two time defensively player of the year, and just ripped off one of the greatest postseason runs of all time. There’s no desperation for him to do shit, or prove anything like LBJ or KD in the past. If he joins LBJ and AD, he’s not ring chasing or trying to enhance his legacy, he’s joining to form one of the most dominant teams potentially ever.
Damon Jones and Snoop alluding to a Mega team. Snoop on that same show said Kawhi. LBJ has actively recruited Kawhi, and that’s the only person LBJ has been reported as recruiting and making an effort towards.
New Balance will probably want Kawhi on LA. Is he EXTREMELY marketable in Toronto, sure, but Toronto has a population of 6m. Canada has a population of like 37. California itself has a larger population than all of Canada, and the Lakers are a global icon and iconic franchise. New Balance can capitalize more with Kawhi being in LA. Business ventures. Kawhi doesn’t need to prove shit to anyone anymore on the court. Coming back to LA he can be at home and focus on things outside of basketball.
Chance to form a dynasty. LBJ is 34. Kawhi is 27 and AD is 26. Even once LBJ declines, Kawhi and AD can easily be dominating for another 7-8 years. LA will have the stars and can continue to re-tool and be in championship contention for the rest of Kawhi’s prime and career.
His sister has consistently liked posts referring to the Lakers, no other team
LAKIES' are about to be the most hated on team ever boys, and we are going to embrace and love every second of it.
