I would give Viva Hate a 7/10. It’s a good starting point for Morrissey’s solo career, but a few of the tracks, like Angel Angel, Dial a Cliche, and Margaret..., just do nothing for me. Suedehead and I Don’t Mind if You Forget Me are my favorite tracks. Viva Hate sounds like a lesser version of The Smiths final album to me. I’m also not sure why they felt the need to George Lucas the album years after it was released.
