Who else has a case? Lebron is nearly 35 and declining heavily on defense, not to mention he just came off an injured season. KD is likely done with this injury and won't be the same player ever again. Curry isn't quite as good as he once was, AD hasn't done shit in the playoffs, Harden is probably the best regular season player but chokes in the playoffs. Giannis is up there but he's still too young and hasn't done enough yet. It seems clear that Kawhi is the top dog right now after what he did this postseason.

seems you're basing everything off playoffs when we're talking about who's the best player in the league. i'd still take lebron, curry and giannis over him as best player. i can see why people think he's the best though simply because of recency bias.

Playoffs are a huge part of it, yes. What's the regular season worth if you can't bring it when it matters most? It's the reason Lebron was considered best in the league for so long. He probably hasn't been the best in the regular season since around 2013 but most recognized him as the best until last year because of how he stepped it up in the playoffs. Kawhi has done the same and has shown he can lead a team to a championship, and that makes him the best as of now IMO.
