USL is probably more stable at the moment The CanPL might still tip over Plus the USL is more competitive without all those league mandated Canadians playing
Brandon Jones
They'll only move if CanPL becomes stable. Or they get kicked out. Or Canada Soccer stops sanctioning them
That would be absolutely kino, but Mexico brought a strong squad I think
Benjamin Gutierrez
I really can't imagine a tournament where Mexico doesn't walk into the final. Costa Rica, Honduras, T&T and the US are on a generational change. Even Jamaica dropped some of their older european players. Everyone else is literally Bermuda tier
Actually, come to think of it, Morris had had bad injury problems too and is just coming off of one, just like Adams and Holmes were. Fucking hell, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to have Lewis in there.

im a liberal guy, but I have to admit, if you swing over to reddit its such a Faggot ass group of bandwaggoners arguing "They need to be banned because theyre simply Nazis"
its like.. word..? what did they do exactly..?
Wyatt Turner
There's a group of NYCFC supporters that are literally members of the proud boys (a highly autistic white supremacist group). I have no respect for them, and could not care any less if they get banned.
Jose Wood
right dude, im not saying their not retards Im saying being a liberal and being a complete retard too doesn't help. The new age progressives seemed to have abandoned the foundational principles of free speech. and no im not talking about the laws of free speech im talking about the idea.. expression of dissenting opinions.
So if they say "ban Nazis!" I say "ok, why, what rule did they break? did they do Nazi salutes? or did they just stand there and you have a photo of them somewhere else?" and we get the retard response - "Theyre simply Nazis" dumb fucking people on all sides.
Caleb Lewis
Well, MLS and City FG are both private companies that hold private events at facilities they own. They are legally allowed to refuse entrance to anyone they want as long as it's not discrimination against a protected group (i.e. race, disability). So there's actually no law protecting these dumbfucks, and honestly I don't care because they deserve it for being autistic assholes.
Cameron Williams
I understand they can legally do whatever they want. Im just saying liberals with this type of thinking are really stupid and fucking babies.
if you believe in the principles of free speech and a melting pot of ideas, etc you don't try to shut people up. You don't SUPPORT banning people on twitter or Youtube for believing in stupid shit (unless they make direct threats) You don't Support MLS not allowing people in for being right wing dumb dumbs, unless they break a rule
the circle that is politics is complete here - left wing censorship is the same as right wing dictator like censorship. If being anti-trump stopped people form being allowed into an arena the dumb ass progressives would be singing a different tune.
and oh yeah - this is fucking soccer. if there anywhere in the world where political statements and shit are made its here.
If people are intelligent, they wouldn't ban people who say "i actually love hitler and hate blacks" you let the world see it, you let them expose themselves, you let people discuss and argue and educate, you don't push them into underground societies
Josiah Gonzalez
>im a liberal guy gay and bluepilled
Gavin Ross
haha yes im a classical liberal, and lets be honest what are my other options? Be a walking living retard who is so dumb he actually votes conservative? get that shit outa here senpai.
Carson Wright
r/MLS is the big gay, those faggots dont understand a damn thing. I truly hate that MLS is full of gay as ANTIFA faggots and fucktards.
Christian Barnes
user, I agree with the principles of free speech, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be consequences for being an asshole. No one is preventing these people from speaking or expressing their views. All that's happening is these dumbfucks aren't allowed to go to a soccer game, because the people that run the event do not want to be associated with their toxic ideology. It's not a free speech issue at all.
Austin Torres
Reminder that there is literally (literally) nothing wrong with being anti-fascist.
>there shouldn't be consequences There is consequences - People know who they are. >No one is preventing these people from expressing their views, theyre just now allowed in. That sentence was a contradiction.
There is no middle ground here. You don't ban people from shit for their beliefs or you create more extremists. Liberals cant afford to be this fucking dense, while shitting on their own ideology.
Jack Roberts
It's not a contradiction. No one forced them to not express their views. >you create more extremists Not necessarily. And normalizing this shit creates even more of them.
Daniel Sullivan
yes it is a contradiction dude. >we're not punishing them for holding beliefs Yeah, ya are. Once again, If you are a liberal- you should believe that people in This country should not be punished for their personal beliefs. Only by their behavior. Should OJ Simpson be banned from all games?
And no, it doesn't normalize it. sure it rounds them up, but it also exposes them, and of course in this social media society, it destroys their lives. And yes, it does cause more extremists and causes more sympathetic voices. Shit look at me fighting for guys who I 100% disagree with. Why? because I don't like hypocrisy and I don't like people who are short sighted enough to understand the same tactics can be used on them.
its the same exact reason why anyone who even utters the words "we should ban hate speech" is a fucking retard. making laws around hate speech is an idea that should be fought against with full vigor, to the point of riot and war, by any liberal with a brain.
Christian Fisher
#seBACKtian
Gabriel Scott
I'm sorry, I just don't buy what you're saying. They are being excluded from a private event because they are assholes. That's completely normal and good, and does not violate their "freedom of speech". It's the same thing as assholes complaining about not being invited to speak at college campuses. It's not censorship. They're just not welcome, because they are assholes. >advocating white supremacy/genocide/racist violence is fine, they didn't act on it Semantic bullshit. Also, they did act. These shitbags were identified participating in a violent proud boys mob attack.
Isaac Taylor
ok, you're missing the point. im talking about liberal principles, not laws. todays liberals have lost the wisdom and intelligence around the Principle of freedom of speech. And once again, this isn't a good precedent to set, because one day You may not be invited to the game because the majority believe You think something that is mean and bad.
And yes believing in white supremacy and other stupid shit on twitter shouldn't get you eternally banned from going to soccer games because that's just fucking dumb. I wasn't remarking on ones who were caught causing trouble or starting fights, that's different.
But if you tell me you want to ban some dumb fucking kid who is trying to fit in who took a picture in a group of 20 dudes next to people who called themselves proud boys- id call you a stupid pussy.
Liberals complicate simple shit the same way conservatives simplify complicated shit. Did you break a rule we have? No. Great you're allowed in. Did you want to punch some dude in the face? Yes. Did you? No. Great you can control your impulses.
Kayden Taylor
I don't think we're getting anywhere here. We're both just repeating ourselves and not convincing anyone. I respect the way you feel about this, I just don't agree with you.
Elijah James
fair enough, well said. I just implore people do always double think ideas like this, stress test them to your own principles, stress test it against strategy. Always call out your own side before others can.
at the end of the next season in '46, they weren't even a top 5 team in the NYC metro area: Hispano, Kearny Celtic, Brooklyn Wanderers, the Americans, and NJ Scots all finished ahead of them

>starting $1.9 billion to develop area near a ghetto just to HOPE for attracting MLS bid >begging other pro teams to join location to increase chances >average 4500 fans/game in the USL literally WHY would you do this, are you some kind of fucking retard?

puli looked like crap. Maybe we can chalk it up to being played out of position, but he lost the ball numerous times and kicked it right into a wall og guyan defenders
Bradley was shit , like always. No surprise there, only this time he was punting the ball over literally everyone to give guyana gk's. He made one good kick downfield at least
>zardes once again gets a fucking goal being an absolute moron in the right place at the right time, and spends the rest of the match running into the box and losing possession
steffen didnt really have to do anything, glad he saved their like 2 shots on goal
glad altidore never saw the light of day on the field
Boyd was decent, I guess, even if he did lose possession. Greg's tactic of "run along the left flank and kick it into the center" is fucking retarded and will be exposed by any competent team
Lima is useless and contributed absolutely nothing

Bentley Garcia
More American than a lot of dual-nationals. Has an American mom who's still married to his dad, lived here until he was 10, and actively refused call-ups from New Zealand because he wanted to play for us despite having no guarantee until recently.
It's a tough ball to hit, and he put it basically right on the money. It was a little behind, but Boyd didn't have to slow up after receiving it. Either way, it was a smart play and a good pass, and it led to a great chance and a goal. If you're complaining, it's because you're trying really hard to complain.
Jonathan Garcia
eat shit, doyle. He was booting the ball over everyone's heads all night
Aiden Phillips
I'm not saying he was great, but he didn't have a bad game, especially later in the game when Guyana was more stretched, and getting on the score sheet always gives you a decent rating in this sort of thing.
Gavin White
tries too hard to do everything
Jeremiah Cox
1.) Bradley has space and time on the ball. I could make that pass, any college player could make that pass. 2.) Boyd absolutely has to stop, and having to stop means the defense gets back.
If Boyd doesn't score there, and Bradley doesn't get hailed as the American Pirlo by Doyle, he is remembered as having one of his worst games ever.
He did have a bad game. He was turning over the ball, backwards passing and doing fuck all to stop the Guyana players pressing the midfield. One lob of a pass to a general direction with no player anywhere near you to pressure you is not enough to excuse how shit he was.

Negative. A different group was trying to bring an NASL team to SD, but that fell through. This is the first solid reporting about the founding of a USL club being developed in/for San Diego. Considering that, is my SD-based ass allowed to stop by /mls/ayy/usl/ again? Last time I was here was when the MLS club was aborted during the November vote last year.

>Plan came about Between Warren and Donovan out of the smoldering ruins of Soccer City SD >Donovan and Smith plan to launch a USL team in San Diego in either 2020 or 2021. The expansion team has been approved by the league and would play for at least three years at the University of San Diego's Torero Stadium, which holds about 6,000 people. >Naming process going to include the community and will be shared with the community within the next week.
Seems simple, appropriate, and benign enough. I'd be okay with it. The only possible reason I can think they might not is just to lean into FC or SC for the unification of social identity behind the team, but we'll certainly see.

the Donovan/??? Bid if they were willing to pay all the "extra fees", they would have a team
Ryan Cooper
You mean the Soccer City MLS bid that failed because of a public vote, or this new one that is for a USL team that the USL has already approved, that they already have a venue agreement in place for?
the SoccerCity plan was a real estate scam led by hotels and developers that got tanked because it pissed off other developers
it is irrelevant to Landon getting an MLS team, Garber gave Miami a team without them having a stadium
Donovan and Co. didn't pay the toll, that's why they don't have a team
Jack Ward
can't wait for Miami to start, and the novelty to wear off, and then they're the Marlins of the MLS, playing crap games in front of 4000 people
Ryan Phillips
The Election is over dude. SDSU won. You can drop the bullshit. Or did you really believe all of that? FS Investors, the ones willing to pay for the construction of a stadium and the redevelopment of Mission Valley worked with Landon Donovan and Shannon MacMillan to build an MLS sized stadium where SDCCU stadium currently resides. The plan had MLS's approval as viable, and was surrounded by rumors that if Soccer City passed, San Diego was a shoe in to get an MLS franchise awarded. Competing developers didn't like that some new guys from Orange County made have gotten the opportunity to turn a profit off of a Civil Investment which is the primary basis behind SDSU's competing but much less specific and legally obligating plan that did pass. So now we sit here with City Hall and SDSU negotiating what the City is going to sell Mission Valley to SDSU for, with no timetable other than one that SDSU pulled out of it's ass but has no legal obligation to adhere to, nor consequence if it doesn't. So you're saying Soccer City was irrelevant to Landon getting an MLS team, but other than completel fabricated bullshit that you're pretend is in any way factual, it is the only plan he has been a part of in San Diego to bring an MLS team to San Diego. So you can shit on him, or Garber, or San Diego, but with respect to reasons why San Diego isn't currently in the process of having any progress made on a revitalization of Mission Valley, and reception of an MLS franchise that would play there in a fully privately funded new stadium, money, and payments of it were not the problem.
William Jenkins
San Diego was never a shoe-in; MLS may already have too many California teams, and Sacramento would easily beat out San Diego
Lincoln Cruz
And we're back to discussions we had a year ago and before then. The only difference is that I had National publications reporting what I'm saying then, and now it doesn't fucking matter because San Diego still isn't getting an MLS team, but will have a parking lot until SDSU decides to actually build something new there 30 years years from now, but at least our new USL team will play from USD, and have a gorgeous view as they do.

Believe me, I'm not knocking USL at all. I remember 1904 and what shit show the NASL turned out to be, so a secondary League that appears to be working much closer if not directly with MLS, is something I'm absolutely willing to throw my support behind. I remember when 1904 tried rolling over to USL after the collapse of NASL, and wasn't allowed to, so considering they are okay with Landon's attempt now is something I'm eager to support and move forward to.
Kevin Thomas
I'm sorry, but did the San Diego SoccerCity already lose? Oh, that's right. The redevelopment of the Jack Murphy isn't even over yet. In fact, it's only 2019. Does not having a stadium deal in 2019 count as a loss? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this post when the MLS is still expanding? SoccerCity are still working for a franchise right now and they have been the best investment opportunity in the West for how many years now? They're playing one of the worst city councils in SD history who just happens to have a lead because they're feeding off the energy of NIMBYs and bougie Chicanos. But you know what? They still fucking suck. The SoccerCity plans are one of the best fucking options for the MLS, they went 70-30 in 2016 and would of won the 2018 vote if the ad campaign didn't choke. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when Donovan wins a franchise and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, Sacramento just had another meth-fueled police shooting when they needed to show they were safe city, just like Phoenix did. Are you a fucking drunk? Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I'm fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you're the only guy making all these anti-SoccerCity topics because you're a faggot hater who doesn't like the redevelopment plan because it's good. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fucking teams on the board, like I give a fuck. It's so easy to spot out your threads now, you're a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don't you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That's just you, you're always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.
