Superbowl rings are worth a decent amount. Interestingly, the old ones like your 1968 don't really grow in value and more recent ones because of the materials used are worth way more. Yours is good for 4 or 5 grand.

Nah not always, they give out like 75-100 rings per year. The 53 man roster, the coaching staff anywhere from 10-15, the practice squad and the ownership. Which leaves you with around 5-10 spare rings that they then give to various members of the organization if they want. Like other staff including trainers, doctors, and there's even been reports that some cheerleaders have gotten rings. So that being said, the only super bowl rings with any real value are those that belong to players with a recognizable name since so many rings are given out.

Well, wouldn't that depend on the specific ring in question? There has to be some documentation somewhere stating how many were made and awarded to the '68 Jets.
