This weekend Indy races at the 1.5 mile Texas Motor Speedway oval at ridiculous speeds in excess of 220 mph for over 300 miles of insane wheel to wheel racing. This is a great opportunity to see and understand what racing at speed is really like for open cockpit drivers.
For the rest of the boys there's:
Racing this weekend: >Indy - Texas Motor Speedway >/turnleft/ trucks - Texas Motor Speedway >Isle of Man Tourist Trophy - Isle of Man >/turnleft/ Xfin AND Cup - Michigan >DTM - Misano >Superbikes - Jerez >Euro TCR - Spa / Franco
Come on in, grab a drink, and chill out with some motor/sp/ort when you get the chance.
>thought they were 8,000 but someone came up with a formula to measure horsepower closer That's all theoretical too, I imagine, as there isn't a dyno capable of measuring the engine, and the blower itself makes 800 hp alone.
In the rebuild vid the dude said a standard race car, like a cup car, wouldn't even have enough power to turn the engine. That's crazy.
Zachary Parker
Yea I read the blower is a 600-800 hp parasitic loss.
Isaiah Garcia
forgot to add. I'm not sure why a lot of people shit on drag racing. I know its a straight line, but it literally pure power.
Cameron Torres
>not sure why a lot of people shit on drag racing Motorsport, in general, is beyond the means of most people, so it's harder to build a fan base than in stick / ball sports. Drag gets shit on because it's harder to market it to the urbanites than track series like NASCAR or F1.
Jayden Diaz
It's time for some weeknight modifieds joined by SKs, SK lites, late models, limited sportsman and mini stocks

time for the only good indycar race of the year. the schedule needs several more fast ovals. chicago, vegas, michigan all come to mind
William Morris
>only good indycar race of the year Nah...among the most dangerous, probably.
Anthony Lopez
>michigan the dual should be one day at Detroit and the other at Michigan
Jayden Adams
im not talking about danger. im talking about the excitement of the racing. i want to see ballsy moves and tons of passing
Nolan Powell
Watermelon Boy announced he's going to run for Truck Series points and has a full time schedule at Niece lined up. He's starting at zero and his win at Kansas won't count towards the play offs though
>Drivers take great risks on the track, and as a result, are entitled the right to invoke fisticuffs to settle on track disputes upon conclusion of each race >fisticuffs is defined as any open hand or bare knuckle blow delivered by one driver to another in areas deemed legal in boxing by the U.S. boxing team >fisticuffs may be invoked only when both drivers are standing, and will be immediately terminated upon the first driver to quit or fall to the ground >Drivers will be charged for medical expenses and any missed team events as a result of invoking fisticuffs They'll never do it.
I think its safe to say Newman would have killed him.
Robert Kelly
Absolutely. That and not waiting until the other driver exited the vehicle. No problem with a little fistfight from time to time, it's not like these guys are going to hit anybody harder than the wall's they run into every week.
Zachary Jackson
>vegas
oh no it's retarded
Leo Foster
F to that whole fucking series, just kill it off and switch it to late models
Jordan Butler
Fuck yeah. Reminds me, did anyone else know Josef and Conor were bros during their early years? They go way back.
Mods qualifying on now. Schedule change said race starts at 7 but that clearly hasn't happened. Preece won the SK race and mini stocks happened. No clue on the rest of the schedule.
Hickman dominating and Harrison not far behind. Feels like we're entering new era.
Kinda sad Dunlop hasnt made an impression and Hutchy didnt even start superstock.
Isaac Davis
Death race is on, isn't it....
Brayden Cooper
I just want Hillier to win a race. Hutchy hasn't been on pace so far, he is probably still getting back in form. Same for McGuinness. Lightweight race is next, hope Rutter, McGuinness and the italian dude from the NW200 do well.
Brayden Howard
Fontana should have never left the schedule
Parker Kelly
Daly is somehow bros with every driver on the grid
Wyatt Carter
Anything on today?
Isaac Walker
Nothing televised.

However, despite struggling for much of the week, he snatched his 19th TT victory in a thrilling two-lap Lightweight race on Thursday. >“I can't use my past as a challenge point, but I've struggled,” Dunlop admitted when asked how difficult the events of the past year have been on him. “We got back into this week, it's been a tough week, [I've had the] injury. I've found it hard to come back racing to be honest, I've struggled with it. >“It's been a bit tough this week, trying to carry the name and I haven't been doing it justice this week which is a sad affair,” he added. “We're always pretty good around here, it's nice to put something back up there for the name. My results this week haven't shown a patch. In my opinion, you maybe lose the size of your balls but you don't lose the size of your talent. >Dunlop admits he is finding it hard to “put a couple of laps together” on the Tyco BMW Superbike due to his wrist, but is ready to attack Friday’s Senior TT finale. Indy quals on NBCSN in 10 bings
Brandon Brooks
Fucking why? Pocono's attendance is good, the racing is solid.
Elijah Morales
Hopefully it doesnt happen. IMO we really need pocono as a second superspeedway and a race in the northeast. If they wanted to replace a road course or one of the smaller ovals with Richmond I wouldnt complain
Justin Lewis
I read the article on Indystar, apparently Richmond is only being looked at as a backup to Pocono. The issue is they are having trouble negotiating a deal with the owners of Pocono. For some fucking reason Miles is satisfied with the current schedule and has no interest in adding any tracks. Seriously? No interest in adding Michigan?

I like pocono too, but after wickens and wilsons crashes it hasnt felt right. Honestly i think part of the problem is how condensed the schedule is, an extra practice session would help a lot i think.
Jaxon Turner
Wickens crash could have happened at any superspeedway, including indy. What happened to Wilson will be prevented by the aeroscreen.
Leo Bailey
The TT is over. Today's episode is up covering the Senior TT. Tomorrow's episode will be the last and will cover the last 3 races from yesterday(Superstock, Lightweight, Zero).

Missed by THAT much.....
Good effort.
Ryder Wood
well damn, that's pretty ghey
Josiah Davis
I thought the nosecone that killed wilson came in from the front. At those speeds that is the place debris is overwhelmingly likely to come from.
Evan Fisher
it got launched straight up in the air more or less (physics dictates that it comes straight back down), re-watch some of the gut wrenching replays
David Hall
it dropped from the sky like a precision Karam Strike
Blake Carter
>savage
Daniel Lopez
If it was launched strait up then the speed difference between the car and the nosecone would likely cause the nosecone to hit him from the front, or at least that is where it would do the most damage. Does anyone know where it hit him?
>ON THE NOGGIN watch a damn replay, the current RHINO solution would have been completely innefective
Nathan Carter
Satos time lads
Julian Wright
Did he land pole?
Cooper Fisher
Yup
David Perry
>not a single fucking thing about it on the indy site >not a single easy to see qualy link either Nice. ty.
Hunter Sullivan
I've seen the replay, and you can't see precisely what angle in came in from. In order for the nosecone to get past the halo it would have to either come from the side, or thread the needle from the top which would be unlikely with the speed difference.
Anthony Harris
the NBC broadcast was about 20 minutes behind reality so maybe the website will have something up now.
To be clear, at the speed Justin Wilson was traveling, well over 300ft per second, the nose cone would have absolutely struck Indycar's HALO/Windscreen first even if by an inch. The margin for it to have actually come down straight on his head is too small.
Julian Flores

Ian Ortiz
I saw 201 into the turns in xfinity just now. No way the cup cars beat that tomorrow
Luis Gray
Legit retarded "core" fans. It was outright sickening watching twitter faggots and r/nascar shlicking to the thought of a Dallara spec chassis earlier this week.
Jaxson Baker
>No way the cup cars beat that tomorrow Nah, they'll have that gay ass setup and be running mid 180's or some shit. Just give them 4 cylinders and be done with it already.
Xavier Scott
recommend listening to sato interview on the latest MP podcast. really smart guy
in ball and stick sports it is almost all pure athletes and the "team" is visible. In motosport its 50/50 equipment/driver, and most people don't see the pit crews and engineers
EWC is live but no stream. It's on Eurosport 2 if you have access to the channel.
Ethan Wright
She's going to get crushed if she moves up. She basically just runs people off the track, and that shit's not going to play even in ARCA.
Grayson Flores
60% chance of rain for cup
Cameron Myers
>Cup quals: Joey Logano P1 at 187 mph >Xfin quals: Paul Menard P1 at 193 mph The cup race is going to be ass anyway, since they'll be running the cancer package at this track making them slower than the Xfin cars.
Last TT episode is out. Classic TT is in August but i don't know if there is any coverage of the event. Ulster GP also in August with highlights, maybe live coverage like the NW200 if we are extremely lucky.
It's June and it's like the furthest north track on the schedule my duder, that's 4 1/2 hours before sunset and the races are sub-3h there, it will be fine.

not a lot you can do really. Though I don't see full canopies really helping.

Things are really looking good. >“We are also competing in Le Mans for the LMP2 title this weekend. So overall, going in LMP1 for Alpine in 2020 is totally possible. >“Racing at the top is part of the company’s DNA. It will depend upon what’s being announced this week (at Friday’s ACO press conference, widely believed to be a reaffirmation of the proposed ‘Hypercar’ concept). >“If we are eligible to the new LMP1 regulations then for sure, we will be there”. Well shit i didn't see this coming. Hope they can do it. P1 isn't the only class in the race, you can even divide P1 into P1L and P1H if you wish.
Who did he suckoff to get back in pro racing after his F2 fiasco?
Elijah Garcia

The rooch is loose
Tyler Morgan
nobody. FIA political rulings don't apply to Indycar
John Howard
It's not like he got banned from racing in F2, he just lost his ride because of the shit he did.
Juan Howard
I thought he was banned for that intentional contact under SC? Maybe it was just a temporary suspension
James Sanchez
what said usually it doesnt take much for a stink like that to find a replacement
Oliver Phillips
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santino_Ferrucci It was temporary. He then was fired and got into some trouble with the team. >On July 18, Ferrucci was summarily fired by the Trident F2 team, citing behavioral issues, and non-payment of money required by contract. Trident alleged that money had been made available for the Detroit IndyCar race, whilst noting that Ferrucci had defaulted on F2 debt to them. An Italian court subsequently ordered Ferrucci to pay Trident €502,000, plus interest and legal fees, for failing to make payments.6 days later, Trident announced that their GP3 Series driver Alessio Lorandi would be his replacement for the rest of the season.

Can you tell how it will be broadcasted? Will they stream it on their yt channel, or it's will be behind paywall and if it so where is the best way to watch it? What sessions they will broadcast?
Parker Parker
fiawec.com/en/news/where-to-watch-the-24-hours-of-le-mans/6380 All session will be broadcasted. You can watch on Eurosport/Eurosport Player, Motorsport tv and the official WEC site/app, technically all paid but Eurosport Player and Motorsport tv might gave free trials. Check the images to see if there is another broadcaster in your area. There is also the cheap way and the way most probably do it and that is watching someone restream it for free. There are always a few people doing it.

Ever since hybrid was pushed into F1 millions of viewers have switched off and have gone from making a huge profit every year to losing hundreds of millions every year

We'll see how much longer the hybrid agenda gets pushed

Audi/Porsche exited because of the dieselgate fiasco. They also spent alot more money that Toyota because that's just what VAG/German brands likes to do. Manufacturers themselves want hybrid racing because of the marketing. Fucking Nascar and BTCC are looking at hybrid for the future, that's how important it has become for manufacturers.
Bernie had been nickel-and-diming FOM for a decade to line the pockets of CVC. Liberty is having to put all that money in now.

Only possible if Ferraris take both of them out
Blake Perez
Not likely but this is LeMans so it's not impossible. There are alot of Ferrari's in the field and any kind of mechanical problem could be fatal like we nearly saw in 2017. This is assuming the Privateers have no problems.
