Is there any chance Indycar could be convinced to increase the pitlane speed? It would do a lot to decrease fuel saving especially on ovals. Currently 500 mile races are more like 50 mile races with the only real racing happening after the last pit stop.

Consider this, for the first 10-15 or so years of CART's existence, there was little or no pit speed limit. The oval racing was fantastic and not a single pit crew member was killed. I'm not saying get rid of it entirely, just jack it up to like 100 mph or something, at least during green flag.

The point is to make it economical, so keep the deaths and debilitating injuries down so you don't lose too many skilled people and talent doesn't get scared away.
