Comfy stage today

So when will Nibals take the pink jersey?

Do we support Ackerman or Demare today?

For me, it's Ackermann

bora will have to work super, duper hard to contain the breakaway today. i bet fdj won't even care about working for the stage

>implying the Shark can into winning
Landa will end up winning the Giro

>almost entire stage is downhill
Clearly today is Nibali's day

For me it`s Ackermann getting attacked by a mountain lion again.

This Giro has been more boring than any skytrain tdf. Really disappointed with it lads.

HONESTLY,
FUCK RAIN

Attached: 1525043922705.png (996x1000, 107K)

what's wrong with you man?

Campenaerts won with an ultimate breakaway attempt in the ultimo chilometro

What's wrong with the Giro organizers? Why can't they make a good race.

Attached: goodrace.png (714x678, 92K)

At least something happened this race as opposed to all favorites sit together and do nothing forf 21 days because Sky train rides so fast.
Seeing the race being won in the mountains as opposed to the 3 TTs was a refreshing surprise.

>inb4 Carapaz completely tanks in the last TT

more Ion Göttlich shit

Attached: 318271da980706f7a18a811c3456a77d.png (633x758, 29K)

This race has been worse than any tdf in the last 10 years and the reason is the terrible course with so many nothing days. I hate finishing with a TT too. If the giro keeps this up then the Vuelta will become more important

This race = Europa league final in Baku
TDF = Champions League final in Madrid

Can't wait for the main event

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

>This race = Europa league final in Baku
>TDF = Champions League final in Madrid
This is not unique to this year though. The tour is the most prestigious GT so it has the toughest competition. I just think nothing sucks the enjoyment out of a race as when one team is so dominant you never doubt they will win.

But ye sure if you ask me they could do with less flat and TT stages and more mountains.

I came back from a 2 hour ride, 56 km, about 330m elevation gain.

I feel pretty fresh and not tired at all, didn't even sweat much, does it mean I became stronger?

What sucks though, and which is why I didn't pushed harder, is that my left knee started to feel weird and hurt, after I pushed too hard on a hill in a too big gear.
The moment I put power through it, it starts to hurt, I hope it goes away...

Attached: Jestem zmieszany.png (645x773, 23K)

They had enough mountains they just didn't space them out.
dude do a bunch of mountains in a row so you're too tired to attack lmao. and don't forget there's a TT at the end so you must save some energy.

TDF has mountain stages in each week with a TT in between plus flat stages are well placed to be used as rest days. It will be a great race

No mountain top finishes has really ruined this for me. Certain riders being absent has hurt too, but I think you are right it's been fucking boring. And I think De Gendt was right to criticize some of the course design.

>It will be a great race
I hope so. Personally I look forward to cheer for Birdsong as he struggles to stay in top 10

TdF might have a better course layout and naturally better weather this year, but Team Sky will lock the race, park the bus, and make the races very boring.

Lads, the weather here in southern nipland is pristine right now, but I managed to catch a viral stomach infection. The good news is that i have lost a few kilos, but I keep staring out the window wishing I could be riding. ;__;

How long you have this knee problem?

people always say this but it doesn't happen. there are too many other strong riders who can attack.

but I would be worried this year because with Froome, Bernal and Thomas it might be the strongest skytrain ever. and they will probably win the TTT and immediately start defending

This year a bit boring true especially compared to last year.

It just started today, in the middle of my distance on a hill climb. Wanted to push hard, got of the saddle and had a bigger gear.....just right few meters after the hill, I felt a sharp pain through the outsides of my knee (right to my left kneecap).

tfw good weather during the week at work then bad weather at the weekend

at least this weekend is a bank holiday

Attached: bob hill.png (742x570, 725K)

Israel stages were unironically kino

the TT was. Rest were meh.

You now realize Israel are riding this Giro too. Anonymous. They are too weak and don't deserve it. Also I just noticed Dimension Data today for the first time. So much deadweight in this race

Cofidis and Total should replace UAE and DD

UAE? They are a strong team

Nice to see more people realize that the Giro is a b-level second tier shitshow of a race

It's not the same every year Sven. Last two years were great. This year shit.

someone smashed a bike in the middle of the road, could have killed someone on the breakaway

Probably went too hard especially if you are not used to it. If you can walk okay without major pain then no damage done. If pain persists see a doctor.

/Pinot/

Man, Italy sure has some nice places. Be great to tour in a sports car with lots of money.

Are they gonna make it lads?

>dememe
>fdj

Organisation in the peloton seems to be good. So no.

>nothing sucks the enjoyment out of a race as when one team is so dominant you never doubt they will win.

it'll be worse in the future
they want to exclude the "Professional Continental" teams (Bardiani, Cofidis, Euskadi etc.), leaving only the big "World Tour" licensed teams, basically killing them and forcing the few good riders there scramble to get a contract with a bigger team; RAI Tv commentators always point to the absurdity of the change; hopefully UCI will desist from the project

note: a "World Tour" team has a 20 millions euro budget on average iirc; if someone has the exact numbers on this I'd like to know

Well im still going to root for them anyway

>tfw no Tour of Japan

Imagine the queen stages at Gunma and Tochigi

h-hot

There is though.

Here are some (outdated) budget of world tour teams.
cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/tour-de-france/tour-de-france-team-largest-budget-26227

Wouldn't that level up the level of the other WT teams? There are some good riders wasted in those pc team like barguil that would move into WT teams.

Ofc it's gonna be a disaster for up and coming riders though.

Based Denz riding his heart out

UAE has had one stage win, multiple top 3s, and held the pink for multiple days. Not sure how you can count that as anything other than success.

>up and coming riders though.
exactly, guys like Egan Bernal have been discovered by pc teams: how can you do that in the future? how can they grow and gain experience before signing for a bigger team? we risk to "burn" some talent too early

it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egan_Bernal#2016-2017:_il_debutto_nel_professionismo_con_l'Androni

Based breakaway

>guys like Egan Bernal have been discovered by pc teams: how can you do that in the future? how can they grow and gain experience before signing for a bigger team

They would just join the development squad of a WorldTour team, where they get coached and ride smaller races but get to train with pros as they learn and are managed for the main team

low-key hoping for a peloton crash

Looks like they will be caught just before the line ;(

it's a breakaway actually makes it for once episode

Ackerman 2nd
Demare 6th?

>DEMARE

>FDJ giving hackermann the points jersey by helping reeling in the break in the end

lmao good job

>Dememe

>Demare 8th
he had 2 collisions but i agree

and then a Professional team win the stage
I brought some luck to them eh eh BRAVIIIIII

Even without the collisions he was going backwards in the group.

>Bora pulling for Ackerman all day
>Bora unable to reel in the breakaway, handing the points jersey to Demare
>Fdj pulling for a Demare sprint when they see the break is within reach
>Demare finishes 8th, the seething Ackerman doesn't even realize he's got the points jersey

What the fuck did Marc Madiot mean by this?

Is he seething or joyous tho? Maybe he did the math and realized that he got the jersey.

Virgin Demare btfo by SeneCHAD

He looked angry as all fuck when he crossed the finish line.

He was seething at the line, because there is no way he could have known at that point that dememe finished 8th. I think he would be a lot less seething by now

Fraud

>Ack seething

Seething in the moment just missing the stage, now that he sees that Demare finished eighth he'll be overjoyed at that unexpected turn of events

how many points did ackermann get for 2nd and demare for 8th? how big is the gap now?

Enough to get the cyclamen.

I was walking down the stairs to throw away my hair (I shaved my hair, it was getting too long...) and there is stinging pain the moment I lift my leg.

In the tour de France the breakaway would have been reeled in, easily

note: there were points for the intermediate sprints

>demare
>13

What a disgrace, he just had to follow ackermann without giving a shit abut the stage victory.

oh I'm laughing

Attached: Capture.png (1007x414, 66K)

thanks guys. i hope he makes it.

There's shouldn't be changes now unless he retires.

Your knee is kill. Only solution is amputation.

Any Danes watching Bjarne rant? He seems drunk or just out of it.

spoonfeed me on points distribution on tomorrow intermediate sprints, pls

Attached: G19_T19_SanMartino_alt_zoom.jpg (2048x1261, 306K)

10, 6, 3, 2, 1 points for each sprint

Bora need couple of riders in tomorrow breakaway just to steal points.

Implying fat arnaud is able to get into the break

>Demare

I hope so much we will see 2 KINO stages now.
Please make it happen!

Will we ever see Roglic attacking?

>Will we ever see Roglic attacking?
I doubt it. But I expect Nibali, Landa and Carapaz to all try something. Lopez too as usual but he's not really getting much out of it.

Lol, didn't even notice that V.Conti wasn't taking part in the race.

>twitter.com/TeamUAEAbuDhabi/status/1134039419399393285

>sore saddle

Oh fug

only one sprint gives points the other gives bonus seconds.
All Ackerman has to do it follow Demare all day and then outclimb him on Saturday

Attached: 1559219583004_1.jpg (192x206, 14K)

>only one sprint gives points the other gives bonus seconds.
my bad, I confused with the other classification
so, those are for general classification for the Intermediates, which is a separate thing and has no jersey
for ciclamino jersey they should be like this on the first sprint:
12, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

The one who throw the bike onto the road intentionally was definitely a New-Italian aka Rapefugee.

Congrats

>Congrats

>Era in stato di ebbrezza e avrebbe voluto unirsi alla corsa. Ricevuto l'ovvio diniego degli organizzatori avrebbe gettato la bici con un gesto di stizza.
>the man was drunk and wanted to join the race. denied by the organization, he threw his bike in spite
lmao

It's Carapaz going to make or guys? He has highlands lungs, he can do it

>the man was drunk and wanted to join the race

based drunktard lmao

Seriously, I can't believe people rate this shitter

only Landa can beat him, if the team gives him carte blanche

I fully expect movistar to let him off the leash, after which Carapaz will get in trouble and loses the Giro due to not getting help from Landa when he needs it. It just seems like typical Movistar shenanigans. They have been doing far too well tactically so far, a big fuckup must be near.

Nah, without Valverde and Quintana, they do look like a decent team actually.
