quitting is hard for about a week or two, then its easy to stay off. everything else will start tasting much sweeter than before, including diet drinks. while things as sugary as soda will start to taste cloying and unpleasant, and you wont even want them. and relapse basically is nonexistent, sugar addiction and tolerance takes a long time to install. you cant simply relapse in one days time.
