>Alan Brazil on the Celtic managerial position: “I’m told the hierarchy want him [Lennon] but that a lot of the fans don’t. And I can’t understand that, he’s got a great record. It’s a puzzle to me.”
Neil Lennon is expected to be reappointed as Celtic’s permanent manager and has already begun looking for reinforcements. Amongst the players being scouted by the club is West Brom’s 19-year-old midfielder Rakeem Harper, who is out of contract at the end of the month. Harper had an impressive season with the Baggies, making 24 appearances and scoring one goal.
>Also on Lennon’s radar is Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori, a 21-year-old centre-back on loan at Derby County. Tomori, who was on loan at Hull last season, has been immense for the Rams this season and played a key role in them reaching the play-off final.
“Celtic’s defeat to Rangers should serve as a ‘wake-up call’ to the club’s board - but it also proved to Steven Gerrard that there is life after Alfredo Morelos.” - Gordon Strachan
>Kenny Dalglish - who spent nine years as a player at Celtic and returned for a year as director of football and then manager until June 2000 - expects Celtic to undergo a busier summer than Rangers even though Steven Gerrard’s side finished nine points behind and without silverware in 2018-19.
Celtic hero Chris Sutton has pinpointed Massimiliano Allegri as his preferred candidate to take over at Parkhead, but he admitted that the deal is improbable.
Possible opponents for the Bhoys in UCL qualifying: >CFR Cluj (Romania) >Rosenborg (Norway) >Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) >BSC Young Boys (Switzerland)
Question of the Day: Who do you think the needy Celtic manager will be, and could he complete another Invincibles run like Rodgers did back in 16/17?
>Celtic reportedly made a sensational attempt to appoint Jose Mourinho as the club's new manager. The Portugese coach has been without a club since his unceremonious sacking as Man Utd boss back in December.
Former Celtic midfielder and manager David Hay has suggested in The Glasgow Evening Times that the Hoops should sign Patrick Roberts from Manchester City in the summer transfer window. Roberts is heading back to his parent club City in the Premier League in England from a loan spell at Girona in Spain.
>Moussa Dembele has admitted that he felt 'blessed' to return to Celtic over the weekend as they celebrated another Scottish Premiership title. On being back to see the fans & celebrate a title win: "It's good to be here," Dembele told Sky Sports Football. "I spent two of the best years of my career here. I feel blessed to come here and celebrate with the fans. It's just coming back home.
Neil Lennon won't get it, he's too outdated and not in tune with the modern football culture of free-flowing footie without borders, import young blacks pay em shite wages and then sell em for three times as much. Football today is about dabbing and behind-the-scenes FIFA tourneys, not secretarian nonsense and all that shite.
Rogic Toljan De Vries Izaguirre Kouassi Mulumbu Sinclair Burke Bitton Compper LENNON Lustig Gamboa Hayes Hendry Ntcham
Thankfully Boyata, Congerton and Weah have already left and the rebuild is in full swing
Thinking we should bring in at least one big name like Tadic
Jonathan Howard
Fuck I put that list through an alphabetiser and forgot to copy paste it back in
Bitton Burke Compper De Vries Gamboa Hayes Hendry Izaguirre Kouassi LENNON Lustig Mulumbu Ntcham Rogic Sinclair Toljan
Anyway, think we can actually get Tadic?
Kevin Scott
why the fuck would tadic abandon ajax for celtic
Dylan Cox
why the fuck would Tadic go to Celtic why would Celtic pay his wages, they'll win everything without him anyway and he won't be the difference between crashing out and actually doing good in a European tournament anyway why is this a general
Easton Hernandez
>why is this a general Some attention seeking tripfag wants to be worshipped.
Ethan Russell
>why is this a general If Arsenal can get a general then the biggest club in the world can get a general
Alexander Phillips
arsenal shouldn't have a general either
Justin Allen
You don't even know why that general exists, do you.
It's a quarantine zone for cowards too afraid to communicate outside it. They don't even venture out of it for match threads. I'd permanently ban those threads if I could.
Colton Flores
Our presence and dominance really makes you engpaki huns seethe doesn’t it
Mason Powell
Enjoy being cancer, I guess. You're clearly new here.
Nathan Adams
Ajax are a small club (only just one their first trophy in ages a few weeks ago)
Hunter Sanchez
I’ve been here for longer than The Rangers FC has existed
Alexander Allen
What’s next for Scotland’s brave Karamoko Dembele?
Wyatt Foster
He’s decided to play for England if I remember right.
Wee fud.
Jackson Phillips
World’s first £1billion player
Ryder Kelly
I think hiring Lennon and bringing players like Gary Hooper back would be a backward step.
Nolan Taylor
Thought Hooper retired
Jaxon Barnes
He's 31 and still playing.
Also we need a top class manager. I admire the board's ambition for trying to get Mourinho even though it was never happening.
Lucas Robinson
>Allegri >Mouyes >Benitez What on earth makes you think these names belong anywhere near Celtic?
John Collins
Nae cunt asked your opinion ya fucken japs eye
Kevin Sanders
>Neil Lennon won't get it, he's too outdated and not in tune with the modern football culture of free-flowing footie without borders, import young blacks pay em shite wages and then sell em for three times as much. He did it with Wanyama and Van Dijk.
Jaxon Martin
If we can get managers as good as O’Neill and Rodgers then we can get them as well
Oliver Foster
Does Simmo post there?
Kevin Jones
>3 former celtic players will take part in the CL final next week We need to try and hold on to our good players, especially Wee Dembele - who we should build our future team around
Dominic Murphy
He’s too young to have the weight of an entire team on his shoulders, wait a few years until he matures enough as a person and a player to have a team built around him
>Bitton Keep >Burke loan player not good enough ditch >Compper Give that man a 10 year deal >De Vries about 600 years old but we do need another keeper if Gordon stays dead >Gamboa Shite get rid of >Hayes 100% keeps idk why you ditch him, left wing + can deputise for Tierney >Hendry Not as shit as everyone says but can't really ditch any centrebacks seeing as we are already losing 2 in the summer >Izaguirre Shite but we need some shitter to play backup for Tierney >Kouassi Actually a good player he just tore his acl as soon as he cemented himself into the first team. Should be good this season. >LENNON Shite fuck off lennon >Lustig unironically should be kept but mostly as backup right back for a season seeing as everyone we try to replace him with becomes shit >Mulumbu don't even know why we signed him >Ntcham Sell if you can get a decent chunk for him but hes a good player that we should try to hang on to. >Rogic Overrated shite imo, occasionally scores bangers but mostly just trips over >Sinclair The guy could score 20 goals next season and everyone would still say sell him. >Toljan Shite and is a loan player. How he ever played for dortmund i'll never know
>rangers fans are literally falseflaggin as Celtic tripfags Stay seething billy
Ethan Turner
Be careful, Brazilbro. I got a warning for posting that image. Retarded jannie tagged it as nsfw. Just goes to show the level of DEDICATION these unpaid workers put in on a daily basis.
Nathan Harris
fucking cancer thread. fuck off
Jordan Fisher
I'm sorry but I've always preferred rangers. Way more kino
Ignore flag that's stupid to expect me to be Celtic. Fucking dumb
Jeremiah Fisher
How are rangers more kino than Celtic? Literally how? Celtic have >a better foundation story >a european cup >a better history overall >a better stadium (new, big and comfy) >better players >a better manager Also, watch this video and tell me it’s not kino youtu.be/HhfQAumhN2M
Michael Garcia
Shut up I can like who I want
Jordan Smith
They all hate you and want you dead. Just remember that
Jaxon Gomez
Checked
It just shows they have passion. Celtic fans just Wana suck off refugees
Evan Hall
Next season’s squad by the looks of things. This team could win 20 in a row in all honesty
I think we lack genuine quality in CM. We've got a lot but none are great. Ntcham is probably the best on his day and Mcgregor is consistent but a lot of fans seem to have their green tinted specs on with his ability. I've heard people calling panel shows thinking he's world class.
Camden Lee
What's the Tadic meme all about?
Justin Gray
retard tripfag thinks we can get Tadic
Ethan White
We've also got Brown and Rogic. Priority should be defense IMO
Anthony Perez
Yes.
Ryder Sullivan
What about that Ukrainian guy we just bought
Dominic Brown
Definitely need RB and CB as priority. I'd put a quality CM and a CF on the list too.
Brown needs to be wound down and into a coaching role. Rogic is too inconsistent - I'd cash in if a decent offer comes in.
This is their ideal lineup for next season. If they are able to get it plus we have a bad transfer window then they might close the gap to a single digit figure
No, they went bust in 2012 and are being liquidated by BDO, who are seeking to recover some of the £150m they left behind when they ceased to exist.
Liam Russell
This is about as close as I'll ever come to agreeing with someone on so many different points.
Basically the overall point is that we need to keep some of the mediocre players for a bit of depth. Too many fans seem to think we can just jettison everyone and ride 15 players to glory when we're among the teams playing the most games in Europe.
I'm with you on Kouassi and Ntcham. Kouassi still has a bit to prove, but I suspect if he can string 3 or 4 games together then he could hit some form and tidy his game up a bit. Ntcham is class when he's on his game, just need to see more of it. I'd prefer to have him around and hope he has a good year next year, but anything above £8m should be considered.
Izzy and Lustig, happy to keep them on board as long as they aren't on gargantuan contracts and are only in as back-ups. They are two guys that deserve to be around for 10-in-a-row if at all possible. That being said, if they move on I won't be too upset.
Rogic is the only one I majorly disagree with. He's not found his rhythm this year, been a bit disrupted by injuries to be fair to him, but I think he's shown it in enough big games that we should keep him around. Hayes is a keeper, perfect deputy for Tierney and can fill in elsewhere. Makes Izzy more expendable though.
Sinclair's a funny one...I suspect it's time to try him a few games through the middle with another striker. He's pretty frustrating most of the time out wide and with Mikey and Forrest looking good as well as Shved and Dembele in the wide positions it might just be best to punt him.
As for the manager situation...I won't be as scunnered as most with Lenny, but we absolutely have to try and secure someone bigger. The lure of being the one to deliver 10 might be good, but Mou is too farfetched - Benitez or Ranieri would be best case scenario reputation wise and that's pushing it.
Nicholas Phillips
he didn't say they'll sign Tadic, he said sign someoone big name LIKE Tadic.
do you know what LIKE means mate?
Anthony Richardson
he'll come round hopefully.
he's got a scottish accent. he can't play for england. he just fucking cant. it shouldnt be allowed
Alexander Flores
>5ft 3 striker >Hayes as a midfielder >Gamboa and Ralston >Rogic over Christie you really are clueless
Brandon Cooper
This
Plus >Benkovic being loaned back >Compper being anywhere near the team >Tadic >Harper >No Ewan Henderson >No Shved
Plus guys like Bayo, Kouassi and to a lesser extent, Morgan all have at least a shot of earning a first team spot or being a solid back up.
Jason Morris
morgan is dreadful. cant even get a consistent game in league 1. remember McGregor absolutely destroyed that league, and still didnt establish himself for another 3 or 4 seasons after
Gabriel Cook
rip
:(
Joseph Gomez
Rodgers has said that Benkovic will be loaned back
I think there's *potentially* a useful rotation player in Lewis Morgan but we'll see. He can't be on massive money so it's worth assessing in pre-season and maybe keeping around for a season.
Fair play. I haven't seen this anywhere. If we've got Benko, Ajer and Jozo then that's the best part of a solid CB rotation sorted. One more physically dominating CB would be nice though.
Jackson Campbell
Shouldn't bother developing him for the rat.
Adrian James
Dont have much of a choice we really need good centrebacks. May be less essential if we can sign Mckenna
Justin Morales
>mckenna Overrated shite
Levi Cook
Celtic will not be signing McKenna. He will join a club in England this summer.
Ryder Jones
Bump
Jacob Torres
...
Colton Perry
Never let that retard make a /trans/ general please
Julian Thompson
Seething
Dominic Roberts
Are you forgetting it's only 8 in a row so far? Acting like this ninth season is in the bag is the exact attitude that will cause it to get fucked in the bin
Henry Gray
>Trying to start a general for this faggy, insignificant club
Good luck keeping this going when all your fans can only access the internet from public libraries and on McDonalds WiFi you gypsy paedophile!
James Bell
What’s the name of the song that plays once the trophy is lifted at 10:16? youtu.be/jB4mHZn8Rdc
Michael Perry
And who will stop Celtic? They were awful for massive parts of this season and still walked the league and possibly will get a treble. For all the bluster from Rangers' fans about being back and going for their 1st title they were still 12 points off when Celtic limped to the title.
Wyatt Nguyen
Not getting rid of ajer?
Juan Anderson
He’s the next van Dijk
Jeremiah Garcia
Why would we ditch ajer when he starts looking like the real deal
Brandon Wilson
people were pretty surprised they laid the money out for rodgers, in a better financial position now than then and I doubt the board want to be seen as taking a step backwards, I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed the boat out a bit again while 10 in a row is on.
Gabriel Perez
All Irish flags in this thread should be ashamed of themselves for bandwagoning a club in a foreign land rather than supporting your home league
this season was defintely their chance to win something, just one of the cups even, celtic pretty much had the worst start to the season in living memory, were buggered by injuries, and had the manager and all his staff jump ship, it was a clusterfuck but still won the league comfortably. if he hadn't left and the team stayed in decent form the gap would have been closer to 20 points than 10 probably.
Gavin Jenkins
New then
Jackson Nelson
why would we get rid of a young player that's good enough to start and still has loads of room to improve?
Are you the kind of guy that posts hundreds of player in suggestion threads and then reposts your old post after one of the hundreds actually joins a midtable team?
Jaxson Wright
>mfw I find out we almost signed lewandowski and ibrahimovic
Brody Hughes
wow there's enough fans to sustain a celtic general?
rangers btfo glasgow=green
Gabriel Brown
lenny would have been given it by now. only chance is that we chase 5-6 candidates all summer and then panic hire him at the last minute but celtic are pretty shrewd. the brenny and deila business was done with little to no media attention
Michael Murphy
All The Rangers’ fans are from Ayrshire
Jacob Brown
not just his tactics but his man management is outdated too. can't shout at players like you used to. brendan gets lots of them because he's always talking them up. thats the style you need . zero negativity
Anthony Ward
rogic can still regain his form. keep kouassi (young enough) mulumbus just cheap squad depth sinclair knows the club and is a true professional. he can do a job even if he's never on fire again. bitton is good cover /utility man ntcham is talented but needs to be used right.
others i agree with
weah and paddy roberts should come back after lenny's gone.
Brody Robinson
I think Paddy might come back (depending on if the new manager wants him). He'll still be on the scouting systems database and I think he's only got a year left at City.
Jordan Thomas
Is weah really good enough? Even Brenny who prefers the young players was playing Burke over him as much as he could. Granted this was before Burke was exposed as a fraud.
Carter Mitchell
He did alright but seemed to be that new generation, Insta-dabber, player and I don't think that would work amongst the big personalities (Scottish core) in the Celtic dressing room.
Cooper Watson
Who's the next manager, bhoys? Can we lure a manager with pedigree like AVB?
