>Bowen
My nigga. People forget his defence is half the reason the Spurs were so good. Ben Wallace is underrated, particularly against old school back to the basket guys. Prime Ron Artest on the Pacers and Kings is another guy who would dominate if physical defense is allowed, or he's on that Henny.
Jason Kidd
Ray Allen
Scottie Pippen
Tim Duncan
Hakeem
Know another underrated defender? Well, not underrated since he's won multiple dpoy awards, but Marcus Camby. Once he started to beef up around 03-04, dude was a great rim protector. Before that, he was too skinny
As a leaf, I cry every time he comes up. Those crazy roided late 90's early 2000's guys were a spectacle, great taste.

Nah fampai, artificial inflation of stats. After Jordan few great new players emerged so the league changes the rules to facilitate new greatness. Every fan wants to feel like they're in the best era of all time, we definitely are not at the moment, despite what statistics indicate.
curry
jordan
klay
kd
lebron
this one is good
It's not the stats, it's simply how sports work. Every generation ushers in improved technology, nutrition, and sports science that objectively make athletes better. Have today's current superstars go up against the best of as recent as twenty years ago. The guys back then would get crushed.
Incorrect chum. The rampant PEDs of the late eighties, early nineties, and again in the mid 2000's set the bar for performance, everything after is just nuance. To use a fighting analogy, just because Gonzaga head kicked cro-cop doesn't mean his leg kicks wouldn't devastate people. This is particularly true with recent history basketball, there's a reason they'll never be another Shaq, partially because the rules changed, but mostly because he was a singular freakish individual, like most of the past greats.
I'd have West at SG and also Kidd at PG because Nash was an awful defender and that lineup is sorely lacking in defense.
Why do people overrate AI so much? he's a hero baller through and through.

Do you seriously think Magic would play SF on that team better than Bird

PG: Curry (purely for offensive output)

SF: Bird (Bird and Magic on the same team, terrifying perimeter threat with Curry, great defender, great passer, all-time kind of hustle)
PF: Duncan (Defense + Lane Presence + Interior Scoring)
C: Shaq (Absolutely dominant inside in his prime defensively and offensively)
6th Man: Jordan (The GOAT coming off of the bench)
I honestly think this team would beat any other team in this thread.

Bird magic and shaq are such great inside scorers, you dont need Duncan. Get a 4 with some 3point range who can play defense. I know he’s not a hall of famer, so you’d laugh at me, but Rasheed Wallace would be a better fit for your team. That’s just how Im looking at it though
I'm really thinking match-ups more than individual greatness right now, though. If you're playing against the teams in this thread, you're going to have Wilt in there, Hakeem, etc. I'm not sure if Wallace has the size to really match up with guys like that, particularly guys as dynamic as Hakeem and Kareem.
I think Duncan is just a steady presence in the lane, and a great rebounder (Bird and Magic are also great rebounders).

Iverson would fuckin' axe murder westbrook 1v1 you god damn turbozoomer
basically true. Lebron has some of the best passing and rebounding by himself. Give him threats that make it so you can't shadow him, it's over.
You can't guard klay and steph. They make 40 foot threes from any angle, off balance or not.
This is probably the closest to the "right" answer.

why are you telling those players to have sex
The years ruins this.
>good offense usually beats good defense in basketball
Verifiably false, even the offensive oriented memeoirs win their titles on the back of 4th quarter crunch time defense with iggy getting the mvp. Forget about the Bulls dynasty that dominated the perimeter with Jordan and pippen and retooled with Rodman, the bad boy pistons who Jordan could never beat, Hakeems rockets who beat the defense first knicks every game 88-81, Bill Russell's five million titles on the back of 20 rebounds and 3 blocks per game, the Heat superteam played elite perimeter defense, Spurs five titles all on the back of elite defense and average but efficient offense, even the pistons team that shocked the juggernaut Lakers dynasty did so with elite defense and average offense.
Very very uninformed statement.
How? Those were when they were all at their best.
That's implied by everyone when they make their list. No one assumes when someone posts Magic that they are posting the 2017 one or some shit like that.
Magic

I don't know about that. People are probably choosing based on what those players did in their primes and what they accomplished throughout their careers. I chose the absolute peak single years for everyone and that can differ. For example, I think prime Duncan was better than KG overall and prime Kareem was better than Shaq, but 2004 KG and 2000 Shaq specifically were better.
