There is a well known phenomenon in economics called convergence. Basically, in 100 years, every country will have the same GDP per capita. The gap between countries is closing faster than ever. What you consider a shithole is probably a pushing economy that has grown 3 or 4 times faster than Europe in the past decades.

Because it makes continental competitions irrelevant if the concept of a continent is completely ignored. UEFA is only concerned with making money, which is why they accept these non-European members. If there is no geographical boundary defining all the continental confederations, there is no point to them at all since anyone can join any one. Just make 1 big FIFA with everyone in it and disband the smaller ones, unless you want countries continuing to hop around and belong to confeds that make zero sense, like Israel in Europe or Australia in AFC instead of Oceania.
