He wasn't a benchwarmer; he's just been injured for most of the time after he was signed. In his limited appearances, he assisted two goals, linked up well with Anderson, and even started against City. He was set to come on against Chelsea, which was his first game back after an injury spell, but he somehow managed to hurt himself warming up.
He played well the few times he was able to, but I expect he'll be heading out. It's a shame because he showed some genuine quality, but with so many injury prone players he's just not worth the risk.
