I'm a Liverpool fan. My dad is a Liverpool fan as was his dad and his dad before him. At least my dad was a Liverpool fan. Today he died. He was 59 and died from bowel cancer. He has been dying for over a year. A giant of a man who has wasted away, day after day, week after week, month after month since he was diagnosed last February.
My dad experienced the glory years of the 70's and 80's with a season ticket. My granddad bought a colour TV in '77 to see them win the Champions league. My dad was at Wembley in '78, in Paris in '81, and Rome in '84. He was at Heysel in '85 and survived Hillsborough in '89. My dad was true Scouser. He worked hard, loved his family and loved Liverpool football club. The Miracle of Istanbul is still the happiest day of my life, a day I shared with my dad.
The cancer has been horrible. Slow and while he never complained I could tell he was in pain. Over Christmas he was really ill but stayed strong for my ma and sister. Then a few weeks ago at Easter he seemed to perk up. He went from stuck in bed most of the time to out walking the dog and popping into the pub.
A few days ago he got worse in the night. My mum called me from hospital and i've been there with him since Friday morning. This morning he was sat up in bed and all he wanted to talk about was football. I had the game streaming on his mobile and was checking the City score live on mine. When Brighton scored it was the most amazing minute. Fate is cruel. Honestly at the end of the game I was devastated. Dad took it in his stride but i'm certain he was disappointed. I can't believe it lads. We were so close.
I just got home. Fuck Man city. Fuck Tottenham. And fuck you to everyone on Yea Forums mocking us. Screenshot this post. On the 1st of June Liverpool will win the Champions League for the sixth time. The spirit of my dad will be there and so will all Liverpool fans. He died three hours ago and his final words to me. "You'll never walk alone".
I'll say a prayer for you dad mate. I hope you are able to recover quickly. I know we all give each other shit on this board but this post touched me. We're not all completely soulless. Win or lose on 1st June, it doesn't matter. You were a good son for your dad and that's what he will have remembered the most. YNWA.

Man I am so sorry for your loss man. I hope you remember nithing but the goid tines with your father. Cherush them for the rest if your life. As a Leeds fan, I want Liverpool to win. Godspeed user
Just wiped a tear from my eye reading this post, man I have bad hemorrhoid so it is not always fun and game while taking a shit, usually it takes a long time and could be painful. Today the pain was much more and it brought tears to my eye, but i feel hopeful afterward because reading this remind me again that spurs will flush liverpool in the CL finals just like i flush my roid shit down the toilet
yo imagine your whole life revolving around soccer Truly british. I bet you don't even play soccer, too. I only go to red bulls games because the tickets are dirt cheap and it's something to do. I don't even fucking care if they win or lose.

I'm an actual lifelong Liverpool fan AND my father (who wasn't a Liverpool fan at all) actually passed away this November after two weeks in a coma as a result of unexpected organ failure (unexpected because his job required travel by helicopter and annually-renewed medical check-ups (for insurance purposes) safety certificates of sea survival where a 1:1 model of a helicopter is submerged in a large pool of ice cold water, and you're supposed to undo your seatbelt, and use training to get out and use a life vest while climing out, both of which he passed in the 2nd quarter of 2018, but I digress.
Yeah today sucked, but at least it brings me solace that if there's an afterlife then he's (as I mentioned he wasn't a Liverpool fan but had a passing interest in football, he preferred snooker and random events in golf and horse racing) looking down towards me (or more likely up at me) and stifling that fucking stupid but infectious/non-malicious giggle of his every time me and him talked every time >we(Liverpool) ended up with a disappointing draw or loss to a random team, or finished EVERY season in an above average position that still was a monument to failed potential, for almost 3 decades in a row. We didn't always get along great, but at least >my team underachieving despite being in the top half and winning randoms Euro and Domestic cups was a two-part Divina Commedia between us, and even after today I can STILL say "oh well at least the last time >we were champions, at least me and my immediate family were all still alive. So what I was 2 at the time and have no cognitive memory of the event?"
That's not all that eases the failure of today's slip passable, though (1/2)

>2/2 There's also the fact that because a team owned by a US conglomerate full of cosmopolitan pro athletes lost a league today, millions of retards, bandwagoners and soft cunts are seething. Let's travel the world and see what kind of soft cunt is S E E T H I N G about the fact 11 people they'll never speak with from (most likely) a city they'll never be to didn't lift a trophy (that their greasy olive-skinned hands will never touch).
>There's the permed Scouser, repeating the annual mantra of "It's our year, la'!" not learning the annual cycle of mania-to-despair. At least they're locals, but still, it's a fucking hobby and there are clubs going into liquidation, being dissolved or refballed into relegation. Oh, woe is >us for finishing in the top10 constantly. There's a city full of unevolved thieves, just 50 miles away and they won it more recently. OH THE PAIN AND SUFFERING OF BEING A SUPPORTER! >Then let's go the Pacific and look at Island Chinamen in Indonesia. Their mantra is similar yet not the same, "It's our year. Lah!". They can't speak English, but they love gloryhunting on TV and they might actually visit next decade, if only they save up enough from their day job of melting recycled computer chips to buy a ticket on the safest regional airline, Malaysian Airlines! >Then there're the Champagne Gommies, Reddit Cucks and Faggy Corbinistas. They love the multicultralism, are customers so pressure the Sponsors to include dumb shit in matchday programmes, such as "we are LGBTQWERTY INCLUSIVE" and "PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING CHANTS WITH RACIALLY INSENSITIVE TERMS". >They're crying the most today, probably got infatuated with Klopp's charismatic smile and the fact he's not a mental retard like Brenny. Or maybe they saw Corbyn's face flash on TV during a match. Maybe they just love how diverse the squad is (if they saw the team boarding the coach, they'd push their girlfriend at full force then run accross the street and masturbate furiously. >2/3

3/3 >Time to view some other international fans again. >The Egyptian kebabs. See, 10 years ago, all the Muzzies were hardcore lifelong Man Utd bandwagonners due to their success at the time. Most switched to City due to Utd's lack of recent success or attacking football, and since City got bought by Gulf Arab princelings, they shamelessly just switched shirts to a baby blue on. >Not the Egyptians though (Amon-Ra, set and Amonhotep look on in shame at these Ottoman rape babies), because some dude actually was born in the same corner of the desert as them. >So they just stick out their index finger and shout "TAKBIR! SALAH SALAH INSHALLAH!!!" and shit up social media with clinically retarded opinions of "WHY IS EVERY CROSS, FREE KICK AND BENALTY NOT GIVEN TO SALAH? HE MUST BE TOB SCORER BECAUSE HE JUST MUST" Despite the fact that most ARE given or targeted at Salad, and this season he then proceeds to blast the ball into row Z instead of a through ball to a teammate clear on goal. >And accross the pond, there are the >tf >tp Amerisharts who are "lifelong fans" because they saw a webm on REDDIT.COM/SOCCER in march, don't understand the game and want to see more commercial breaks, 4 times instead of two halves, and much wider and taller goals. They'll go bloomin mental!!! FIGHT AND WIN!!! >Then there are also Africans whose third cousin, the prince of ZIMBABOSTWANA who aren't already Arsenal/Chelsea/Drogba/Toure fans. >The land of street shitting and 12-armed Octopus Gods, Sanjeev is a hardcore fan of Liverpool, Man United, Everton and Arsenal! None of them won today so he might an hero, and hope that Ganesha resurrects him as a blade of grass in Anfield!
The fact all sort of dumb cunts are right now turning in bed, wiping their tears and sweat with their mosquito nets because some random team from half the world away didn't win, it makes it less bitter. Are these cunts turning me into an ABL?

RIP to your dad but fuck Liverpool. Not even the team, they're fine. Not even Klopp, hes annoying but manageable. It's the fans and supporters who suck my median sized white dick.

YNWA ik im a yank but I have supported Liverpool since my uncle was a /lifelong/ and ik how amazing it is to watch football with family when that goal goes in.
Be strong my man, you have to keep fighting on for your pops and even if we lose, we will still be supporting the club no matter what
I'm a seething ABL but even I'm touched by this unfortunate set of circumstances. At the end of the day it's just a game and I cant begin to image the pain you're going through. These things are bigger than football and even if liverpool do manage to win the UCL I'll be a little bit happy because I'll know what it means for you and your family. YNWA.

It wasn't Juve or Liverpool fans fault. The authorities are to blame. They held a final in a dilapidated inadequate ground with broken infrastructure. There wasn't enough security or police. They sold alcohol in the ground and didn't search spectators. It would never happen today and it was the authorities fault. Liverpool are innocent.

That's not even the half of it, user. Imagine if the corporate owners's research department would fully embrace these "emerging markets" (even though the only things these customers would buy would be counterfeit shirts from a market stall in an unpaved bazaar). >actual cucks are extatic, they are mindgasming over their fantasies of these unwosed hordes gang-fucking their significant others' >the press are like "who cares the beautiful game is all inclusive, stamp racism out IT'S CURRENT YEAR +4!!!" >actual normalcunt local fans are like "who cares they are our brothers in spirit" because half the World away some asshole looked at a league table and thought "ah sim lah pah GRWRAFTHRDRAGH CHING LING MONG PING DIDI MAO LIVERBOOL F*CLICK* MOTUMBE INSHALLAH" >And I'm the asshole for not enjoying this soul-less corporate franchising and bending over & virtue signalling for GoodCuckPoints.

That's a fucking abhorrent post and you should be ashamed of yourself. Scousers are not a caricature like you unfairly present. We are not thieves or murderers just good working class. We are proud of our accents, our city and it's long list of accomplishments, and love our club as much or more than any other fanbase in the world. The lies that scousers were responsible for Heysel have long been exposed as just that. Lies and scapegoating. The Belgian authorities have blood on their hands but that has been conveniently white washed. The tragedy was devastating for everyone. A kick while we were already down.
How the fuck is neoliberal globalism Liverpools fault? We aren't to blame for the league being bought or for the international interests at play. Its hurt us more than anyone or anywhere else.

Gerry Clarkson, Deputy Chief of the London Fire Brigade, was sent by the British Government to report on the condition of the stadium. He concluded that the deaths were "attributable very, very largely to the appalling state of [the] stadium".[24][25] He discovered that the crush barriers were unable to contain the weight of the crowd and had the reinforcement in the concrete exposed, the wall's piers had been built the wrong way around and that there was a small building at the top of the terrace that contained long plastic tubing underneath
My dad has been incurably disabled for about 17 years now. He wants you'll never walk alone played at his funeral.
He taught me how to be a proper supporter. I remember 2005 clearly. We were 3-0 down at half time. I stormed off with tears in my eyes with no intention of watching the second half. He yelled at me to get back in the room, saying this was a once in a lifetime final and we've got to see it through to the end. Without my dad I don't know whether I would've had the strength to pick myself up and watch that second half. I could have missed the greatest football comeback of all time.

I went to the library today to pick up a book I ordered on the history of The Hillsbrough Disaster, when I asked the Librarian she said she didn't have any record of it. I demanded to know why and she said "It's not our fault", "Yes, that's the one I ordered" I replied.
