Exactly, that's why the rockets need to fire him ASAP if they want to still contend. They are still saddled by other obvious problems (CP3's contract and Capela), but this is the easiest and most obvious thing to fix. Get a coach that teaches the team to do more than just isoball. Get a coach that actually disciplines and focuses on fundamentals (like fucking boxing out). Get a coach that actually calls timeouts when needed. You do that, and the Rockets become a much better team.

If Morey is really insistent on keeping D'antoni, then he needs to go too. His front office skills aren't great (CP3 and Ryan Anderson contracts), but they are adequate enough and sometimes he gets decent guys on good deals. It's actually kind of funny. Everyone talks about filling out the bench with ring chasing vets, but they've really struggled signing useful guys in FA since Durant came. David West and Boogie are kind of the only ones I think, and Boogie came to them.
Being able to sign some actual decent roleplayers this offseason is huge for them. Livingston's contract next year is non-guaranteed so they have some cap flexibility if KD leaves and they can convince Klay to wait a week or two before signing a max.

Durant won't be there next year. The rest of the team isn't nearly as good as they were in 2015. They are a totally beatable team and have a chance of being beaten by the Nuggets or the Raptors/Bucks. New management can make a huge difference.

Clippers winning 2 games is based on 2 facts. First, They’re too disciplined to lay down and just die. It’s like the spurs. Second, I’m not gonna say GSW underestimated them but I think it’s slot more about how GSW all year have been struggling to make this newer system of KD running the offence work out. They were willingly ok with Steph and Klay staying cold and prioritized feeding the ball to KD. It’s a lot more manageable than what the warriors were like when they went on their 72 win season. Siakam and Ibaka are good but inconsistent, Green has been awful, Gasol and especially Lowry are washed and their bench just isn't good OG is out, VanFleet has looked like complete shit, Powell is bad and one dimensional.
