Why does no one here discuss tactics?
Why does no one here discuss tactics?
Because you're not on /trb/
I'm afraid most of Yea Forums don't really understands tactics. Me included, I used to follow whatever the gaffer told me.
Implying those tripfags know it too.
Thanks
No one knows tactics
Because no one other than stats geeks has a fucking clue what's going on anymore, bar the club they support. Even they they'd have to watch them every week, at the stadium to see what's going on. And most people who do that support small clubs which no one wants to here about, do you want me to go into the tatical depth of Bolton Wanderers failings, probably not.
Personally, I refuse to believe that tactics really matter that much. At the end of the day your defenders always need to be picking up the people running into your box and your attackers need to be charging forward and at least one of them in an advanced position when you are countering them.
Obviously there are little differences in which positions you tell to go forward during an attack and who and how many stay back, as well as how many have to come back to defend, but formations never really capture this side of tactics and most of it after that just naturally balances itself out according to what works on the pitch and how the other team is attacking you.
That's why you have such awkward punditry at the start, attempting to guess what the formation will actually be during the match, which then also changes.
To me its far more down to mentality, confidence, fitness (/recovery/doping), skill and team unity and cohesion. The tactics, like Ajax dropping off and not attacking in the second half or Barcelona setting themselves up defensively in the second game against liverpool, are basically to blame for those superior teams losing. If they had continued to play their own, natural team game, there would have been a lot more goals, it would have been more exciting and they would have gone through.

Yea Forums literally always talks about tactics
Only genuine newfags don't understand the intricacies behind posts like
>POOtinho
>Trashford
>Poobag
While on the surface they appear insulting and baseless, there's actually deep insight within them that suggest which changes should be made to secure the win
Because any attempt at discussing tactics will result in a burst of pictures of people wearing hats and memearrows
