Will this become a good rivalry for many years to come?

no

No United will challenge next season

(You)

>two teams being good at the same time means they are rivals
hate this fucking amerifat meme that some people take seriously. Manure-Chelski was never a rivalry when those two were the only serious contenders in the PL, and it isn't today, despite how much Sky tried to shill it as such. The same is true of these two.

Liverpool fans seethe about City and portray themselves as the morally superior club with "soul". They hate them more than anyone else now that United is irrelevant.

okay at what point do two teams become rivals then fuckwat?

liverpool's AI opponents? nah thats not a rivalry mate

> No United will challenge next season

Delusional. Liverpool hate United and Everton.

>a person, group, etc. competing with others for the same thing or in the same area
Your're a fucking retard

Manchester city vs Liverpool is a rivalry. And has literally always been in the minds of man city supporters

no, it's like Bayern/Dortmund
English football is 5-10 years behind

>omg technically everyone is rivals in football XD
lmao at you

Is a one-sided "rivalry" really a rivalry?

What a fucking window licker you are. City and Liverpool are the only ones competing for the title.

This is the truth, and it's clearly left some of the customers who've replied to you absolutely seething.
The only non-local Premier League rivalries are arguably Man Utd vs Liverpool and formerly Man Utd vs Arsenal (but that was mainly a Fergie vs Wenger thing).
This modern thing of trying to shill all the top 6 teams playing each other as 'rivals' is dumb as fuck, no one cares about a Chelsea v Man City El Plastico or a Liverpool vs Spuds match up.

>failing at context this badly
"Rivalry" has a specific meaning in football that transcends temporary things like whether the teams are actually competing.
For example, Stoke's biggest rival is Port Vale. They haven't actually played each other since 2002 yet both sets of fans know they are each others' biggest rivals. This is a REAL rivalry. City-Liverpool is not.

The state of zoomer education is appalling. Go eat a dictionary, you dumbass.

probably not, but I don't think it's that one-sided anymore

>or in the same area
Learn to read, you pleb.

It is already a rivalry. Those 2 are easily top 3 teams in the world. It will keep being a rivalry for as along as Guardiola and Klopp stay there. Money wont be a problem, good players wont be a problem, the only thing that can derrail it is Guardiola or Klopp leaving because both teams can mess up their replacement and surely they wont be able to find someone as good

>shit im wrong uh ill just argue a different point
mate you're a fucking retard, everyone knows 'rival' in football has a historic connotation, now put down your dictionary and stop chatting shit

Imagine being proud of being thick as pig shit. I bet your parents wish they'd had you aborted.

>competing with others
This is the part I was saying is wrong you absolute mongoloid. Perhaps in a day-to-day usage of the term "rival" that is acceptable, but the word has special meaning in the context of sports, perhaps most notably football.
Fucking plastic customer retard, do you ever actually interact with the sport of football other than on Laosian table-crafting support groups? It's literally only on the internet that I ever find people who don't understand what a football rivalry is.

not at all, City aren't close to Everton or even Chelsea when it come to rivalry

yeah takes a real genius to misapply the broad definition of 'rival' which he had to google to check
good luck on your catering GCSE

Wrong, Liverpool see City as formerly the irrelevant other Manchester club and today as the big money oil club filled with mercenaries. We care about them as much as we care about Chelsea, which is hardly at all.

more like Liverpool - ABL rivalry

>United will challenge next season

>Team A want Team B lose because that mean Team A win trophy!
>This mean Team A have rivalry with Team B! Team A only think of Team B this way! If Team B swap with Team C, Team A and Team B no be rivals any more though.

>Fucking plastic customer
Liverpool has the most plastic customers on the fucking planet, more than United which is saying a lot.

>we
kys Paddy

give me the option of City or Chelsea winning anything and I'd take City every time

People don't view Man City as a real team so they can't be a rival. It would be like a factory worker seeing the robot that replaced him as a rival. Despite also being an oil club, Chelsea are above this because they're scum, like an evil robot. Man City are just a neutral robot arm that builds nice cars.

no arsenal and united are back in the scene

yeah challenge the bottom and fight relegation lolol

Mongos. He clearly stated that no United will challenge for the title. Or are you trying to tell me Newcastle stand a chance.

Yes.

>would be like a factory worker seeing the robot that replaced him as a rival
This so much desu until the Luddites rise up lmao

>Man Utd vs Liverpool
>non local
Nigga it's like four train stops?

Are you fucking serious? United has always had far more plastic fans than Liverpool and don't even get me fucking started on City, most plastic club in England.

This season was as peak as it's ever going to get. City will one day get done for violating FFP, Guardiola will walk, Aguero will go back to South America, then they'll enter another transitional period of mediocrity.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will continue to improve each season and history will repeat itself.

It's not a sporting rivalry until Liverpool nab some trophies. City is plastic but they do have a strong core support that were there even in league 1.

Chelsea was a big team before their takeover, unlike city

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

...

Zzz who cares

No, Liverpool will implode next season

it depends on your age.
all 40 year old liverpool fans are plastics
all 25-30 year old united fans are platsics
all 20-25 year old arsenal fans are plastics
all 20 year old chelsea fans are plastics

youre right, but there was a time when liverpool had a lot of bandwagoners in the 70s and 80s im sure

The people who were plastic Liverpool fans 30 years ago stopped supporting Liverpool in the 90s.

No.

Guardiola vs. Klopp is a nice match up on a "styles make fights" basis that people are always going to want to see. Klopp has the best record of anyone against Pep.

Although again, Mourinho vs. Guardiola is a real rivalry, best friends (when Pep was playing and Jose was assisting at Barca) who now fucking hate each other and whose philosophies of football exist in opposition to each other on personal grounds, at least in Jose's case.
