i really cant see the controversy here, for me its like every other penalty these days. sure he jumps before the contact, but he doesnt change direction to jump into the challenge, he jumps in the direction his run was going and avoids getting clattered with the jump.

Barca need some younger, faster more hard working midfielders to help their play off the ball. The meme "le hold on to ball instead of defend" style only works if you have world class technical players who have the movement down second nature and literally never ever make mistakes on the ball. Even city and their unlimited budget have trouble in knockout games because they are too committed to holding the ball instead of just defending. Even Barca with Xavi and Iniesta AND messi had a few disappointing Knockout exits because great teams could exploit their lack of pace and inability to defend with counter attacking.
