My biggest guess would be that footballing youth mentality and the Ajax scouting system along with a clear cut approach on how to play alongside the right coaching makes all the difference.

Getting both Aubameyang and Lacazette in was the mistake. One of the two would be okay, but both of them just leads to an absolute mess of an attack that stats-wise looks like it works, but will always have its limitations that won't see it get anywhere near the top.

It's a meal that has high quality meat and low quality everything else and the idea to make it a high quality meal, is to add more meat. People will say "how do you blame the meat, it's good" when the meal is bad because it is overly reliant on the meat and the meat itself cannot be enjoyed as much as it should because it's not being complemented properly. You can't compliment meat with meat and you can't put Aubameyang and Lacazette in the same team and ever expect that team to accomplish something elite like a league or a CL.
