i do, i think that if you just say fuck it and support the league financially for like 5 years, and you get decent T.V. deals (the one they have now is pretty great) and more importantly., you focus on paying players earlier, with no college requirement you can see great things.
In my opinion though, the best way to make a sports league in america defeat the status quo? No salary cap. People love the sport, but they would gladly get paid double or triple the money for a little less prestige.

It was just normal american football with slight rules alterations the nfl was too chickenshit to make because "muh tradition", and edgy team names. It was branded as "raw" and "x-x-xtreme" but the reality is it was just a development league for players who couldn't quite make the NFL.
There was no scripting, and most of the good players from the 2001 season went on to have successful careers elsewhere despite all the American sports outlets shitting on the league for the entirety of its' existence.
The new league in 2020 will scrap the edgy team names but basically be the same thing. A league during the NFL's offseason to test potential rule changes.

The AAF lost $80 million in one year. The XFL will have to survive 3 years to see profitability even though it has better name recognition. Also why have it right after the Super Bowl and have a brand new league compete with shit like The Masters and NBA/NHL playoffs?
