VR headsets are very popular amongst people who spend money on racing sims - popular enough for other other side of Codies to reverse their decision not to implement it in Dirt Rally 2 after it was a feature in the first one and its absence from the sequel prompted megatons of moaning.
Sim racers, myself included, are a retarded bunch of homos that will spend ludicrous amounts of money on wheels, pedals, shifters, rigs, button boxes, transducers/shakers, amps, motion, g-seats, 3rd party race engineer software with voice interaction, and some faggots even pay for coaching.
Most sim racers I interact with these days that use VR - again, myself included - will flat out not play anything that's monitor only.

it's effectively a reskin of f1 2009. same sounds, mechanics, menus. tbf, from my perspective 2009 was not a bad game for the psp - challenge mode is good and is reasonably nice to play for the career. considering the graphics, performance was decent
for some reason they completely managed to break it when they ported it to 3ds. graphics and sound are improved however - list of issues:
>ai - broken, evil. sometimes is 20 seconds slower, sometimes does sub 1 minute laps. swerves toward you randomly >performance - atrocious. even with massive pop in on cars and objects, it rarely gets above 20 fps. less at the start >controls - abysmal - both the d pad and analogue stick are jerky and unpredictable >realism - forget it. slipstreaming at monza, it is possible to do 250mph easily with the drs
