I have witnessed the careers of both Messi and Ronaldo since the very beginning, and to me it was Always plain obvious that Messi was the superior player.

You can see Ronaldo developing muscle strength (and consequently running faster, jumping higher and kicking stronger shots), learning how to position himself in the filed in order to increase his chances of scoring, abandoning the flowery bad-dribbles of his early years and becoming more effective and direct, and other abilities, yet Messi has always possessed some unparalleled qualities right from the start (like running extremely fast with the ball “glued” to his legs, or using dribbles not as mere flowery-style of play, but as actual tools to move forward in the field).

For me it has always been evident that a great deal of Ronaldo’s fame is due to his physical beauty and the great media and commercial opportunity it provides. In the past I always wondered how Yea Forums failed to see such an obvious fact and get carried away by Ballon d'Or prizes, as if they were truly the best metric to measure greatness.

If I am not mistaken the 3 languages in Europe that don’t have Indo-European “blood” are Hungarian, Estonian and Finnish (there’s also Basque, that doesn’t have any relation to any other language in Europe or the world, and it’s an European pre-Indo-European descendant).
