>How did you pick your soccer club Yea Forums?
i support the team i was born closest to
Sheffield Wednesday?
this
Either the "big" club closest to where you grew up or your dad's club, anything else makes you a customer
Manchester United
I didn't pick the club. The club picked me.
Grandfather played for them
Patrician
that's gay as fuck
my dad supports everton so i support everton
Based
I just supported my dads team
in NL 9/10 your family dictates your club
All based answers, basically you don't pick the team, you are born into a context where you can only choose one obvious club or it's biggest rival to trigger your parents
For heritage
My granddad was an Ajax fan, he took me to games since my dad always worked so i'm an ajax fan
played in their youth academy for a few years, was also born there.
are those meant to be hearts?
No they are water plant leafs. Not even joking.
How did I picked my football club? I met the /g/ manager gio, and I am gay for him now.
>Canadian Premier League just started
Well...that's one way
>a fucking leaf
they're stylized waterlily's, look up Seeblatt.
After watching this game:
youtube.com
liked using them in fifa, a few years later i got a local mls team so i like them too
whats it like playing in a youth academy and why didnt you make it lad
Also unique certain circumstances, like if you're a gay paulista you go for Sao Paulo
You can like a team if you like watching the league (ex: Portubros have got me watching Vitoria Guimaraes games bc of their fun threads), but that's way different than the club you support
If a team you "like" and the club you support play, you are 100% on the side of the hometown club/dad's club/club you or a family member has played for or you are weak blooded
yes I will be watching CanPL
>yes I will be watching CanPL
What's your team lad? For me, it's York9 FC
if you're north american you can own a shirt too; people wear them like normal clothes here in NA, not just on matchday
Don't let Yea Forums tell you what to do, but like... know that if you aren't from Manchester, and your dad isn't from Manchester, and never played there... you're a bitch
Edmonton, hoping >we actually are favorites
Excited tbqhwy
>know that if you aren't from Manchester, and your dad isn't from Manchester, and never played there... you're a bitch
if you support a Manchester club
Wearing other national team jerseys always fun too
Colombian, from the capital. There are three teams here: Millonarios, Santa fe and Equidad.
The first two have a long tradition of over 40 years. The last one is an insurance company.
My dad always supported Santa Fe so I rally behind them. They're 19 in a 20 spot chart this year, lol.
I picked up FIFA 12 and started playing with Manchester United for whatever reason. So they've been my team
These
this tbqh
my dad and other family lived close to the ground too.
This.
Born a mile away from the club and as a child, moved literally across the road from it.
Ventspils are decent, I think Riga are too. Dunno if you live near either of them?
based retarded sea nigger poster
My fathers family is all Sporting fans so I grew up In that environment since a little kid and here I am now
Kinda memed myself into it this year because Claude Puel was a maniac. Looking forward to next season
I'm a raiders fan
my father was a big corinthians fan, and i hated football when i was really young (like 6-7 years old), so i picked sao paulo just to spite him :^)
>call football soccer
>don't root his city football club
>seeks approval from strangers
I thought latvia was based
Don't bully Latvia.
Im not bully him, i'm truly concerned that someone on this side of the atlantic call football soccer, i mean what the heck dude a frickin' OG ( this post is brought to you by the NO Bulli Comiteee )
My brother was a manure fan so I have been a manure fan ever since since forever.
Cringe.
Support teams from your own countries
You can like a team not from your country but you do not support them, you've deluded yourself into forming an artificial connection with something over a television screen. Quite literally a foreign customer
Double cringe if your first language is different from theirs
For whatever reason you started to support the English champions? A coincidence I am sure. Not only a plastic but a gloryhunter to boot
I support Ajax because I love their philosophy. I love their style of playing. Agressieve offensive beautiful football. You will never see Ajax park the bus and play anti football. I love that they care about the fans.
>tfw so long as people refuse to support their local leagues and help them grow, UEFA competitions will always be shit and imbalanced
>tfw attendances in some top national leagues are comparable to 8th tier English football, all because of the hyper aggressive marketing campaigns of the BPL
I just want foreign lads to have pride in their own clubs instead of swallowing the bluepill of 'football is a TV experience'
i was literally born in the center circle on the pitch of my favourite club
You don't fucking pick your club.
Grew up next to these shitters, thankfully they're half decent now, and has been for some time, but they will never win anything.
I larp as a Hala supporter in the CL
Didnt mean to (you) you
You cannot pick a club you root for, you're born with it.
I didn't pick it to say, it's the closes team to where I was born and raised and both my father and grandfather were supporters. >we are solid now, but before that we went 21 years without a trophy
I didn't choose shit, Hajduk was part of my life since I can remember. Now I support them partly out of masochism.
There are some other teams I like and when they play I'm glad to see them win, but I don't have real emotional connection to them and don't honestly care. I picked them up from my older brothers and they are Inter, Liverpool and Celtic.
I call it soccer but technically I'm in the Atlantic so
