I don't mind a bit of women's footy because it's more to the level we play at and no (or least far less) diving. But BBC/Guardian/lefty wankfest rams it down our throats so i stopped watching even the odd game. Make them wear clothes made to fit women, not long baggy shorts for men. Blatter was right.

The struggle matters. I can tolerate women performing worse than men in competitions, what I can't get over it is the "jiji don't worry about it, it's just a game" attitude they often show in team sports. It's less offensive in individual sports, you can watch fs and just forget about the fact that men can do quadruples instead of triples and just enjoy the competition of cute girls who have trained all their life doing their best.

In Connecticut, the UConn Women's Basketball team is the de facto professional team in the state. Technically, there's the Mohegan Sun WNBA basketball team but they don't really count (nobody watches them except for hardcore fans). When the Hartford Whalers left, there was nowhere else to really go. The UConn men's basketball team was popular for a little while but they've been wildly inconsistent for years.

Geno Auriemma, the coach of the women's team, is considered a God in that state; He could probably bash in the skulls of a dozen baby seals in front of everyone and the only thing people will wonder is how next year's recruitment class is going.
