Do you think that DK Metcalf will become a true WR1 in the NFL? At first, I thought he was a meme hype machine, but the more I look at it, he might actually end up doing really well. And it’s for pretty simple and uncomplicated reasons. He’s a big and fast straight-line receiver.
Maybe this will be the season where we will have some rookie WR’s finally produce.
Metcalf is going to be out of the league in 3 years. He's fucking awful. What's the old cliche, looks like tarzan plays like jane? That's Metcalf. Have fun with having 1 serviceable WR on your entire team.
Xavier Johnson
I’m not a Seahawks fan. What I’m saying is purely conjecture. What will be interesting about Metcalf is that his combine data provides such extremes. I’m paraphrasing, but he’s basically 99th percentile in both explosive and top end speed.. but he’s slower than Tom Brady in agility drills. Whether he succeeds or fails will give a little credence to the data heads out there. I just hope we can see see him succeed or fail based on his skills and not flame out because of injury. I want to see this guy play.
Jaxon Bell
are you jelly of his black bull physique, white boi?
Jayden Ramirez
N’Keal Harry is going to be the best rookie WR.
Colton Reyes
>but he’s slower than Tom Brady in agility drills
Hold up.. is you serious? There’s no way that’s possible.
Julian Moore
he was he did slip though
Wyatt Reyes
Ah I knew about the times but didn’t know that he slipped. That is such a funny stat comparison though.. .08% body fat, 4.4 40 and yet slower than Tom in agility drills.. yikes. I love football.
Blake Morris
It's not even that absurd It's basically just Jon Baldwin all over again.
Brody Phillips
He sucks cant run routes and can’t cut
Wouldn’t be shocked if he never plays
Jaxson Bennett
You’d have to be literally retarded to think that. I don’t give a shit about him or the seacucks but he’ll definitely see some snaps I’m the regular season
Elijah Morris
Wow, your take is exuding such heat
If Metcalf doesn’t succeed, it is going to have absolutely nothing to do with the reasons you just mentioned. Where are you regurgitating this information from?
William Rivera
He’s a very poor man’s David Boston
Camden Lee
he cant run routes. he has a go route and a post. thats it. but thats what coaching is for. as for his career? niggers have built top 10 careers off of straightline go speed. wallace, jackson, tavon austin. its running and catching a ball. its not rocket science and russ has the best deep ball in the game now. he's gonna be one of those guys that puts up decent numbers but they only come out of 8 games. a show up show out and dissapearing kinda game.
John Bell
He needs to learn to be more than a one trick pony. He could be a top tier WR down the line. I wouldn't bet on it.
Asher Kelly
This comparison is so dumb and I hear it constantly. They are nothing alike. At all. Someone heard it on sports radio and started repeating it because they thought it made them sound smart. It doesn’t.
Isaiah Martinez
>russ has the best deep ball in the game now
fucking LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ryan Nguyen
I think he'll be a desean jackson or ted ginn type of guy. A one trick pony but very good at that one trick so he'll be worth keeping around
Hunter Walker
If you actually followed and understood the draft, you would understand why this situation should be taken with a grain of salt. Ole Miss was a disaster last year.
Carter Walker
Literally pulled it out of my own ass. Explain your position
Nolan Moore
I mean if he doesn't work as a WR could he work as a TE?
Benjamin Mitchell
but he does. and has had for a while. >If you actually followed and understood the draft uh huh. ole miss being a disaster explains everything. not his more competent WR teammate. not his neck getting broke and him being a complete liability. not that his own coaching staff didnt trust him beyond anything as a one trick pony. not him being the size of gronk and yet cant block reliably. Im the one who doesnt follow NCAA or the draft. Im the one who doesnt understand football prospects. I mean its not like coaches expect him to struggle once he hits the league and get shut down by aggressive man coverage and too stupid to adapt or improvise on zone coverage with the frailty in his neck on top of that.
but yeah. ole miss was a disaster and he didnt get a chance to shine. thats it. I was way off base. thanks for that 4 paragraph breakdown of your critical analysis of his abilities. good job user. you should be a scout.
Asher Davis
you probably are, you made that comment seemingly out of nowhere; truly out of place. something you want to talk about?
Cooper Anderson
AJ Brown outproduced him in every way, was available on game day, and did it over a large sample size (Metcalf barely played).
I'm not saying Metcalf can't become a serviceable receiver, but he was fair value at the end of the 2nd round, and his ceiling projects as a situational deep threat, and not a ~80+ catch kind of guy.
Julian Ramirez
What's the deal with the 2% bf? It's obviously wrong, but have they even bothered to update it?
Jaxson Russell
Russ CAN throw bombs
Evan Turner
if this were 10 or 15 years ago I’d say no, but considering offenses can get away with murder today according to the refs, he can probably do well with Russ throwing to him
Pretty sure he does statistically, most his offense was chucking dragons to Lockett
Camden Bailey
Metcalfs saving grace in Seattle is two things:
1. He will always blow the top off and demand respect from a safety.
2. He is a run blocking demon downfield. He will blow a linebacker off his spot because he's so big and fast. Which is desirable in a run first, run next, run last offense.
He won't be much of a factor actually receiving the ball.
Brandon Cooper
I am honestly going to be extremely asspained if this turns out to be an amazing pick by the seahawks
Andrew Gray
It won't be. Don't worry.
Jace Flores
Bullshit. I hear the comparison everywhere. Boston Scott is a 5’7” running back. You tell me how they are similar.
Aiden Flores
Based
Jonathan Rodriguez
turn him into a tight end
Xavier Hall
That would my idea if he doesn't work out as a wr. I mean he has close to the same measures as shannon sharpe from what I looked up. Not sure how well he blocks though
He was limited by injury, idiot. And Ole Miss fired their OC because he was absolute dogshit. If you actually followed the draft, you’d know that scouts consider his game tape inconclusive for these reasons, and his passing judgment upon his route running is purely speculative. It’s universally agreed upon that Ole Miss misused his potential. Do you have any other fantastic insight, Mel Kiper?
Zachary Fisher
Agreed. And also this supposedly being a deep WR class allowed teams to wait a little longer to pick up theirs. Metcalf just doesn’t have a huge body of work to go off of, so you’re drafting him on what you’re hoping he can do.
Nathan Mitchell
>niggers have built top 10 careers off of straightline go speed. wallace, jackson, tavon austin. Holy shit nigger did you just say Tavon fucking Austin has a top 10 career?
Brayden Kelly
Why? He can’t block. I don’t understand why people are overcomplicating this. He’s a fucking huge, fast, and strong slot receiver who catches 50/50 balls (apparently) that gets YAC yardage through his above mentioned attributes. He’s not going to juke you. When he’s not actively being targeted, defenses need to respect him by putting a safety up top. This is so easy to analyze. The big question is his injury history. Can he stay on the field?
Joshua Sullivan
>Tavon Austin
Easily top 10 in convincing teams of overestimating his value. HOF maybe in that category.
Nathan Martinez
Deebo gonna be the star of this wr class . Hes like a steve smith anquan boldin hybrid .
Hudson Hill
well tavon austin for the draft and speed correlation. metcalf is closer to mike wallace.
if anything he reminds me of cordarelle patterson. ultrahype speed nigger with a huge body and suspect on everything else. also had a teammate that outproduced him with better fundamentals but didnt have the same measurables as patterson. forget his name. justin something.
>you are now going over all the tennessee volunteers prospects getting drafted in your head without googling them clemons is the last guy I remember? safety or LB. goddamn the vols have fallen off. every year it got worse and worse until they didnt have anyone in this draft class. > Do you have any other fantastic insight, Mel Kiper? yeah. you cant take repeat everything I said then put a question mark at the end of it like thats somehow the argument youre making. you just said everything I said and are trying to pass it off as your own. I got a question. are you jewish or female. who does that besides kikes and broads?
jesus god peyton go recruit or assistant coach for the vols man. you gotta fix that up.
Matthew Myers
Deebo? Interesting pick to be the “star” of the WR class out of all of the others you could’ve chosen. I don’t necessarily think he’s going to wind up being the best of the group next season, but at least this class seems to be the first exciting class of receivers in years. The last few years feels like it has been the worst stretch in a while. Who has even been considered a great WR to emerge within the last 3 seasons? Maybe Tyreke Hill if he qualifies? I forget when he was drafted. But even still, look at what he’s dealing with now.
Owen Foster
Totally different person, retard. Google shit before spouting off.
Andrew Torres
Here's DK Metcalf as a freshman with a huge block that takes out two pursuers to spring the running back for a 98 yard touchdown.
Dude.. calm down. You’re talking way too fast and you have officially confused the fuck out of anyone who read that. It looks like you have some coherent thoughts buried in there, but you’re making it way too hard to discern them from the.. other stuff.
Landon Smith
It's either Deebo or N'Keal Harry.
Adrian Williams
*Parris Campbell
Colton Phillips
Oh. Shit. I wonder if I’ve been confusing him every time that comparison has been made previously. I remember hearing the David Boston comparison pretty much as soon as draft coverage started when discussing DK Metcalf and my brain processed it the same way as I did today. I remember thinking.. what the fuck.. Boston Scott is like Darren Sproles, is he super jacked and I don’t know about it or something? Thank you for clarifying that actually, I remember wanting to google that name and forgot it before it was replaced by something retarded.
Zachary Rogers
Kyle Shanahan drawing up plays for a YAC God with no receivers behind him.
Or...
A guy who's just a deep threat in the Z slot opposite TY Hilton.
Luke Moore
This dude led the league in receiving yards in 2001 on the Cardinals.. with Jake Plummer as QB, no less. Wow. He isn’t ringing a bell. I was watching football as a teenager by then, but wasn’t as much of a stat head as I am now or following football through the internet, I guess. He looks like he was definitely juicing.
My vote is on N’Keal, sadly. Looking at the draft, I’m surprised the Packers didn’t take a WR. Not a GB fan or anything, but it looks like they could’ve used one.
Leo Sanchez
Name the commentators who made that comparison. Genuinely curious. Pulled it out my asshole
Nathan Collins
It was in an article about the early coverage of DK Metcalf right after the combine. Almost verbatim, I quote “Physically impressive, although his detractors however are drawing parallels to David Boston.”
Tyler Brooks
Donkey Kong Memecalf will become a true bust in this league, nothing more. Meme workout warrior who was the third option last year on a pretty shit Ole Miss team. There is literally no evidence that he has any real football skills beyond overpowering and outrunning dudes, and that isn’t enough going against NFL secondaries. He’s going to get btfo.
Hunter Martinez
didnt he wash out of the league like a year later?
Jose Watson
>he will he out of the league in 3 years
Is that you, Skip Bayless? Giving your hot takes a test run here first?
Joseph Ross
Practically. He had one insane season oof +1500 receiving yds and never got anywhere close ever again. Injuries, personality problems, and PED suspensions affected his career.
Colton Stewart
I don’t understand why people think his floor is so low unless he turns out to be injury prone. With Doug Baldwin likely done up there in Seattle, there’s a big opportunity for him.
Benjamin Murphy
>huge block >literally just runs into the guys >implying this is the same type of blocking that TEs and OL do
