No seriously, they didn't have any memorable matches or players, they didn't come up with new tactiques or strategies. World football remained the same and nobody will remember them 10 years from now.
I'm not saying this as an Englishman or anything, I can appreciate the effect Argentina had in 86 even though they cheated against my team. But theres nothing positive I could say about France.

France 4-3 Argentina was a great match where Argentina excelled and took advantage from France's few mistakes
France 2-0 Uruguay was another nice match, France was clearly superior to a Uruguay side that was arguably the stongest south american team at last year's WC.
France 1-0 Belgium was a god tier match faggot. Arguably the two best teams at the WC and yet France still beat them.
The final was another match in which France was very clearly superior in every way.
