>Messi not #1
Cringe.
Cool list I guess. Wouldn't add anything.
Di Stefano > Ronnie
>messi in the top 5
Into the trash
That top 5 is spot on. Well done
6. Di Stefano
7. R9
8. Puskas
9. Kaiser
10. Zidane
11. Garrincha
12. Van Basten
13. Eusebio
14. Zico
15. Maldini
>modric is not #1
trash list
There are 3 Argentines in the top 6
How do you cope?
>pelel
>maradroga #1
>missi #2
Messi is a better goalscorer than Maradona
>still not a single international trophy
Messi couldn't even cheat an international title win for Argentina like based coke sniffer did
Why is it in football that you can win literally nothing and still be considered a GOAT?
Implyn maradroga was any good at all.
Gerd Muller is a better goalscorer than Maradona
Mario Jardel is a better goalscorer than Maradona
Alan Shearer is a better goalscorer than Maradona
>maradona number 1
>pele number 3
is this a joke?
I know this is the number 1 argument against le no world cup messi, but football is a team sport. One man can only do so much
Messi
Messi
Messi
Maradona
Pele "dont like him but what can i do"
thierry henry is a better goal scorer than maradonna and has won more than him, why isn't he better?
I hate Maradroga but Pele was the best in a time when football was way less competitive
But Messi made it to 4 finals (3 in a row) and lost them all. 2 of them were on penalties (in which he choked and skied one), and in the WC final he missed an open goal. His teams were good enough, he's just inconsistent.
he said it because Messi also has all the other GOD qualities that Diego has such ass dribbling, Passing etc..
the others who are better goalscorers Dont.
>shitters like cruyff, beckenbauer, puskas in the top 10
>zico, romário and rivellino out
lmao
stfu mutt.
nobody cares about this shit other than dumb twitter faggots aka Normies.
we all know messi is the top dog
Europe bias.
nothing new.
but romario was a spoiled faggot who kept missing home and he was more a goalscorer than anything else
Any list that has players from 50 years ago over Messi and CR7 is invalid, as it glorifies football played by farmers in Paralympics tempo.
>#5 The Gypsy Gary Linekar
Romario is top 20.
Rivellino is not top 20.
BASED Zico could easily be top 10/12
How lol? He literally cannot win a NT trophy despite being carried. In order to even be CONSIDERED the GOAT you HAVE to win the WC, a euro/copa, a ballon d'or, a WC ballon d'or, a fifa world player of the year, a European player of the year, a UCL, played in 2 or more leagues and won them, and a supercup.
>muh 7 games is all that matter.
back to facebook mutt
no frank lampard or john terry? shan't be reading this list anymore
kys
>but romario was a spoiled faggot who kept missing home
true, but he was based so I don't criticise him. You should read about the time he asked Cruyff to give him extra days off for Carnaval and Johann agreed, but only if he scored a brace against Real Madrid. Romário scored a hattrick and fucked off to Rio while his teammates had to wait another 3 days to get their vacations
>he was more a goalscorer than anything else
true, but he was the best of all time. No one was as lethal in the penalty box as Romário. Others like Maradona or Messi might've been more complete players, but I think this enough to warrant him a spot in the top 10 (and maybe even top 5 if you ask me)
>Tsu is not #1
burn this list up
>gook
opinion disregarded
maradona good
pele better
george best
>i-it's not his fault i-if he can't win seven games!!!
the seven most important games lol. you telling me the "GOAT" can't win seven games against nigeria and croatia?
>system baby player in 2nd
"no"
Zidane>the rest
i think garrincha should've been higher if the memes were true and he was the one carrying brazil
romario is at least better than MVB so yea top 15 or top 10
Messi needs Barca to win, the moment he leaves he forgets how to play.
>a poor croatian
opinion disregarded
>system baby
then why nobody else has these stats?
This
It's the fact that he could easily destroy shitters in his system but then struggles against teams like Iceland who are far worse than anyone in La Liga.
Because he plays in a system tailor-made for him. Are you telling me if he leaves barca for fucking man utd or betis he'd put up the same stats?
its not.
its what we've been watching consistently for the past 14 years.
if higuain scored and messi was still not that good in that match should he get the automatic goat??
this is stupid we're looking at individuals and not the whole team.
and there is no better individual than messi
>Pele
youtube.com
PELEL EXPOSED
>playing to one's strengths without breaking any rules whatsoever somehow makes player's accomplishments invalid
only Yea Forums could come up with something this dumb
>HIGUAIN!!!!!
Always the scapegoat lol, higuain missed an open chance but so did messi. Are you forgetting that "shit argentina 2014 team" went toe to toe with Germany until the literal final minutes? They were good enough to win, but messi couldn't show up when it counted.
What are you talking about? I was proving the point that messi needs a system built around him to win, if he leaves the system he'll crumble. No one said his stats were invalid, you just need the full context.
>south america
messi chance was much more difficult especially for a leftie on that kind of angle.
you cant fucking judge a player on a tournament that's played every fucking 4 years where you have to be lucky, with a good manager and with good surrounding teammates in most of the positions.
Messi best chance was at 2010 when he was at his peak physicals and his teammates also was peak physical.
but fucking retarded ass A.F.A gave the job to cocaine Maradona who cant fucking manage arabian gulf teams or second Tier Mexican teams and yet Argentina were pretty good until they faced a team with a decent enough manager who ate Maradona tactically .
judging Messi on his NT is retarded and done by newfag zoomers or normies and mutts of course.
if messi was brazilian he would've at least won 2 world cups since brazil always has worldclass players in all positions "expect a striker in recent years" , Argentina dont.
And how exactly does it make him less of a GOAT candidate?
I'd argue the opposite: by now, the system he plays in should've been thoroughly figured out and Messi should've been either forced to adapt or lost some of his reputation.
The fact that he neither of those things happened and he continues to shine only further proves how insane his ability is.
stop fucking discussing football you retarded ass MUTT.
this is entry level discussions
>drug addict
>autist
>some bloke who counted goals he scored on the beach, in the garden and in his head
>stoner
>fag
>no idea who this is
>nazi
>manager
>not a clue
>fat
>is this the deformed spine person
>top goy
>stoner
>alcoholic
>no idea
>messi chance was much more difficult especially for a leftie on that kind of angle.
He's the GOAT right? He's made more difficult shots than that :)
>you cant fucking judge a player on a tournament that's played every fucking 4 years where you have to be lucky, with a good manager and with good surrounding teammates in most of the positions.
Yes I can, especially when that player comes from a footballing powerhouse.
It wasn't maradroga's fault, the team was stacked and the players relied on the assistant coach more according to them.
>judging Messi on his NT is retarded and done by newfag zoomers or normies and mutts of course
until he leaves the system made for him we don't know how good he truly is, thus the nt is the best way we have of gauging it.
>if messi was brazilian he would've at least won 2 world cups since brazil always has worldclass players in all positions "expect a striker in recent years" , Argentina dont.
The brazil that lost 7-1 to germany while argentina only lost 1-0 in extra time? Or do you mean the brazil that got picked apart by belgium.
Messi cant win anything of value without XaviIniesta carrying him
Di Stefano is a meme
Maradona is the only true goat
Now how do you cope by not seeing your NT ever winning anything?
There should be two lists: for VAR era and cheating era.
Where's Bobby?
any list that doesn't have tom brady first is retarded
>I'd argue the opposite: by now, the system he plays in should've been thoroughly figured out and Messi should've been either forced to adapt or lost some of his reputation.
There's a difference between tactics and system. Messi is surrounded by good players in a league where a headless real madrid is their best competition. Tactics can be reformed and changed to best suit the best needs of the team.
Get out of here you filthy jew.
Nobody likes your kind and your opinion is discarded.
I don't know, I'd put me at #1 tbqh
fuck off faggot.
retarded ass contrarian with edgy but stupid arguments that wont end because you'll always find a little dumb glory hole so the discussion never stop.
Messi being the goat is unchangeable by you or anyone else for that matter.
people pick their goats usually at age 17 and since Messi was so consistent for 14 years he has influenced so many 17 years old decision and insured his place as the ultimate goat.
>muh one system player .
meanwhile 5-6 managers changed each with different style and each position has been occupied by at least 3-4 different players.
that's how newfaggy your arguments are, but find the little glory hole i dont give a shit mutty.
>i know if you want to argue back you'll say the La masia bullshit and that barcelona system never change which is complete utter bullshit.
I AM DONE
2.5
>meanwhile 5-6 managers changed each with different style and each position has been occupied by at least 3-4 different players.
doesn't matter
every Barça manager has simply played some variation of Messiball for the last 12 years
People need to accept that the next generation of athletes is always better. 60s stars aren't the greatest today.
In 20 years someone will have beaten Bolt. In 20 years someone will have beaten Kipchoge. In 20 years someone will have beaten Messi, who has certainly beaten his predecessors.
PLATINI IS UNDERRATED
He is closer to Maradona than he is to Zidane
>franz bake&powder
Why do ppl rate this guy so high. Being tied up is a fetish, not a sign of football greatness.
Here is the list:
1.Messi
2.Pele
3.matadors
4.c.Ronaldo
5.r.Ronaldo
6.ronaldinho
7.zidan
8.ibrahimovic
9.inesta
10.maldini
>people pick their goats usually at age 17 and since Messi was so consistent for 14 years he has influenced so many 17 years old decision and insured his place as the ultimate goat.
wtf are you talking about lol?
>Messi being the goat is unchangeable by you or anyone else for that matter.
yes it is...? its an opinion...
Nope.
guardiola and his dead assistant played the exact same system, Enrique didn't and Valverdi is a whole different animal to all of them "not in a good way" .
but since people see an attacking team with 4-3-3 and messi being dominant its easy to say its the same system.
especially if you aren't a barca/messi fan
is "literally nothing" code for dozens of league and cup and European titles? Like how "American" is code for "dumb fat fuck"? Interesting
>until he leaves the system made for him we don't know how good he truly is, thus the nt is the best way we have of gauging it
Wrong. Him leaving the mythical "system" would not be a measure of his skill; only a measure of his versatility.
Also, intentionally making one's job harder and then overcoming those difficulties doesn't make a player the GOAT - it makes him an idiot.
>matadors
Funkin auto screw it
Maradona
>wtf are you talking about lol?
i'll answer you this.
just look at this board and see how many millennials still worship r9 and consider him the goat because they saw him at that period.
the gypsie and his love for Grande Milan. and so on .
and its not a fucking science because it can change but its a good rule of thumb.
the main reason is probably nostalgia
No south american country can ever win a world cup now because there is no team chemistry. The schedule for players has been inundated with too many fixtures and money has displaced everyone. When Maradona was playing the time was 90% from Argentina who domestically could get together or see each other whenever they please. In this age, the team with the biggest concentration of players has won, for example Messi vs Germany was him playing against 7 players from Bayern Munich. How is anyone supposed to beat that? Or Spain using 10 players from Barcelona and Real Madird. South American football is therefore dead, because the star South American player leaves their club and has to play with teammates they have not seen for 300 days. Messi played a world cup final with teammates from City, Lazio, Sporting CP, Benfica, Sampodria, PSG, Inter, and Sevilla.
That's not a "system", it's chaos and just putting shit together hoping it works.
It's the cold truth and you know it.
Switch Zidane with Cristiano Ronaldo, then take that porto fraud out and put Raymond Kopa in his place.
1) Clubs. This is what matters the most. 90% of football is played by clubs. This takes most of the time, not just 2 weeks every 4 years. Argentine clubs are infinitely superior to Uruguayan ones. So, all year round, I am enjoying while you're seething.
2) Argentines abroad. This is also what happens 90% of the time. Uruguayan players can't even begin to compare to the Argentine ones winning tournaments every year. Now there are even Argentine managers making the rounds in Europe. So, all year round, I am enjoying while you're seething.
3) National team. Argentina has made it to several finals and they came down to the write. If you make it to a final and lose on penalties, eventually you'll win. I am young and I know I'll see Argentina winning several tournaments. Uruguay hasn't made it to a World Cup Final since... 1950... LOL
4) Youth. The Argentine team almost wins the U20 tournament and won the U17 tournament. New young players just keep coming up.
Di Stefano won 5 CL in a row scoring goals in 5 consecutive finals (7 in total, all-time top scorer in CL finals)
It must suck to be Uruguayan and seethe all year round about Argentine success in football.
Okay, so system is not tactics. What is it, then?
The youth academy upbringing? Bojan has gone through the same ranks lauded as a wonderboy for most of his youth - he couldn't make it in Barca, not even at Stoke.
The coaches letting Messi do whatever he wants? Well, considering that all he wants is scoring/assisting goals, he's got tools to do so and that's what you have to do to win football games, they'd be dumb not to.
The philosophy of playing short passes on the ground and looking for a dribble to get the advantage of numbers? I don't see anything demeaning in that way of trying to win.
>I cheer for Leeds because it has an Argentina manager
ah yes you're the type of faggot that also roots for Tottenham just because Pochettino is on the side.
National titles in your life time that matter
Uruguay 1
Argentina 0
> I am young and I know I'll see Argentina winning several tournaments.
Yeah well it's been a quarter of a century, and if you only grow to be 80 that is already 30% of your life gone without them winning anything. Tick tock.
1 - pelé
2 - maradona
3 - messi
4 - cruyff
5 - di stefano
6 - muller
7 - zidane
8 - puskas
9 - beckenbauer
10 - garrincha
11 - r9
12 - platini
13 - pk7
14 - van basten
15 - maldini
Let me see your list, faggot. I'm pretty sure you are going to list all those great players you never actually saw playing
where is rooney?
>intentionally making one's job harder and then overcoming those difficulties doesn't make a player the GOAT - it makes him an idiot.
>Maradona leaves Barcelona for Napoli, the getafe of Italy
>proceeds to be hailed as a god in Naples, considered the GOAT footballer by half of the world (the other half picks Pelé)
>Di Stefano won 5 CL in a row scoring goals in 5 consecutive finals (7 in total, all-time top scorer in CL finals)
>scoring in ECC finals when they did mean jackshit
lmao literal farmers cup
>Everybody putting Pele on number one
He almost counted goals from training.
1 - Pelé
2 - Messi
3 - Maradona
4 - Ronaldo
5 - Cruyff
6 - Garrincha
7 - Zidane
8 - Muller
9 - Romário
10 - Cristiano Ronaldo
>no xavi or iniesta
>le pass sideways men
>intentionally making one's job harder and then overcoming those difficulties doesn't make a player the GOAT - it makes him an idiot.
>Maradona leaves Barcelona for Napoli, the getafe of Italy
Barca back then wasn't a stacked club like it is now
Maradona also didn't leave because he wanted a bigger challenge - he flopped at Barca
I unironically and automatically disregard any list that has Pele in the top 10. I'm not saying he was shit because he wasn't, he was literally a Memebappe type player though - relying on better teammates to make him look good in the NT, and playing his whole domestic career in a literally what league scoring against part timers and looky looky/lucky lucky men.
Peles a fraud
Yeah best in his era but le plays against you in a pickup game or football table game and scores and adds it to his tally man
He played in the Sao Paulo state league
The Brazilian national team had players from Rio and SP only - it's just splitting the league in half
People overestimate how big of a deal that is and get triggered by the word "regional". Given how strong Brazil was, both state leagues would have been up there as the best in the world at that time.
>2 manlets at the top
Yikes
>Pele on the list
>not Abe Lenstra
fuck pele
If C. Ronaldo is as high as #5 then why is Gerd Muller not on this list?
>George Best
BASED
spot on but maldini should be top 3
Di Stefano should be over CR7 and Cruijff imo
in the bin
>no Kane
>no Mbappe
>no Neymar
wtf
>cruyff
This and also at the time the best Brazilian players were mostly in Brazil. The whole be good go to Europe thing hadn't really started. If Brazil were winning world cups at that time it also indicates that the league there was very strong. I think people put shit on Pele because it's a long time ago and there's not so much footage of him, but if we look at what was said about him in his prime, he was the unequivocally GOAT at least until Maradona late career.
>Beckenbauer
>George Best
>Van Basten
These have no place in the top 15, it feels like they wanted to give a spot to every country relevant in football. The truth is that Germany and England never produced a player good enough to be in the all time top 15.
tom brady
How is Northern Ireland relevant?
Where the fuck is Rooney.
List is shit
Who the fuck doesn't rate Beckenbauer? And MVB is like the all time complete CF
Oi, that's a bit fucking harsh!
For all you know he could spend his spare time throwing rocks at the Israeli security forces from the strip.
This. Balding Rooney was peak footballing excellence. Shit list.
PR team
>No Lev Yashin
Fuck this striker oriented football culture
Where's Peter Crouch?
Wow, they actually got it right for once.
>2nd greatest of all time has no titles
>maramierda
>like 2 leagues won
lmao
if you are going to mention the meme worldcups of 4 games against tumbuktu and guinea konacry you can fuck off
Tom Brady
Messi is a better ANYTHING than Maradonna.
>penaldo top five
wouldn't even have him in the top 10 desu.
Maradona has a better mentalit0y and is a better leader
how is Ronaldo 5th, but der Bomber doesn't even make the list??
>tfw no Dragan Stojković
You have to be the dumbest fucking boomer to place Maradona above Messi
