This made me think. Hamilton desperately wants to be part of the American black successosphere like Oprah, Obama etc. but I have seen no indication that American blacks even know who he is. He only has the ARE LAD FROM TOUGH STREETS OF STEVENAGE English bar crowd and that must make him so mad.
>russell is ill and will not be partaking in media duties mfw they'll only enter kubica's car if russell cannot race as latifi lacks a super licence. well, ocon is in baku, i assume.

You know a lot of American blacks, huh?
Anyway, I'd imagine they know who he is but no more so than MSC, for example. Plus Will Smith knows who he is so that's at least one.
They might just enter the one car to save parts rather than risking some n00b crashing it.
Angel Carter
give kubica russell's chassis if he cannot race tbqh.

I meant that an average black in USA doesn't know who Hamilton is.

>They might just enter the one car strategy idea: combine the two cars into one voltronesque F1 car, with 8 tires, 2 engines, double front and rear wings with double DRS. but legally work it out that it are technically still 2 cars and 2 drivers (russel is just taking a nap in the back of the Willtron FW42) so the cars scores double points.

safe bet. some dumbass normie at a bar Saturday stopped me bc I was wearing an 05/06 renault jacket i have to ask me about f1. guess how he heard of f1? netflix. said he won 50 bucks bc he “heard that hamilton guy won a lot”. the worst part of it all was i couldnt disagree

>“He’s dead”, Bernie said. I thought for a few seconds, “how can I translate it and tell Leo in a more adequate manner, considering he only spoke two words!!” .
>So I turned to Leo and, in the most gentle and caring way I could master at the time, and said: ” I am really sorry to have to translate that to you but Bernie is telling us Ayrton has died.”
>“But we are not announcing it yet so the race won’t be stopped”.
Taken on face value that's heartless and cruel and yadda yadda yadda, but the comments section is interesting - someone suggests that if driver contracts had a clause that would show agreement to the race continuing in the event of their deaths, drivers would probably sign it, and Betise remarks that she agrees; someone posits that it was poor taste and of dubious legality to continue racing the day after Ratzenberger's death, and that had they closed the track for investigation Senna would have lived, and that continuing after Senna's accident was cruel... and Betise points out that Senna drove that day after Ronald's death.
Shit happens, it's not pleasant, and in trying circumstances it's rare for people to be at their best - but processing decision-making after the fact and viewing it through a filter of knowing everything that had, did, and would transpire is fucking disingenuous.
>plus, the sniper would have got him anyway

The sawtooth does three things - it reduces the radar cross section of the car, which allows the smallest of possibilities that should someone else create a circumstance where the World Champion was to evade certain damage by exceeding the pit lane speed limit, there's a tiny percentage improvement that perhaps the Ferrari Assistance Institute won't notice.
Secondly, the saw tooth pattern makes the overall area of the wing much, much better - which because as we all know, wing-loading is the mass of the craft divided by the wing area. Lower wing-loading leads to better manoeuvrability - as well as providing more wing area to do more work.
Thirdly, and just as crucially, the sawtooth pattern disrupts the boundary layer of air as it leaves the car, thus making the air behind the car dirtier, disrupting the front aero of others as they chase down the World Champion and endeavour to take away his rightful wing.
A marked ,exciting and smart move by mercedes that the likes of Fer-ugh-i cannot replicate.

>“I think we are closer to Mercedes,” said Verstappen. “It’s always difficult to really say if it is better because everybody is always improving.” >“In the race in general we are a bit more competitive,” he added. “In qualifying it’s mainly just Ferrari which stands out. >“Like, it’s massive. They found something in their engine which really works. So it’s again good because it gives even more motivation to Honda to work even harder which they anyway do.” oh look, amx is mercedes driver now, because he confirmed underdogz are indeed underdogs engine-wise

Mfw I thought Baku was in next week. I haven't spot any relevant F1 news in media expect for some stupid Ricciardo bet about Bottas
what kind of stupid headline is that? I can't imagine hamilton literally said that (talking about only this season) Wouldn't it be much weirder if a team favored their new young driver instead of their long time 4 time WDC driver??
James Edwards
It would yes, and that's also what happened at McLaren in 2007 with Hamilton being the obvious preferred driver even though Alonso was a WDC for the last two years before that year
Parker Jackson
'I understand how Charles feels because in his heart he believes he is the best or has the potential to be the best,' said Hamilton ahead of Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
'It is like having your light dimmed. As a racer, and as a fierce competitor, you naturally rebel. The team say to do one thing, but the fight in you wants to push the other way and do the opposite. I have experienced that.'
'I see much of myself in him. He is doing a great job with high expectations at a huge team like Ferrari. He just has to keep doing what he is doing and it will come to him. For now, I am racing against both of Sebastian and Charles.'
'You don't go there to recharge your batteries,' he said, hinting that he had partied hard - but his off-track enthusiasms have seldom proved an impediment in recent years.
Juan Gray
HOWLING
>Hamilton has always been respectful of Vettel, who after him is the most successful driver on the grid, but they differ in that the Briton has never sought to be favoured as an instrument of team policy: 'My philosophy is that I want equal opportunities against whomever I am racing so I can truly show my ability.'
Eli Edwards
>The Briton has never sought to be favoured as an instrument of team policy

Schumi being a teambabby is an understatement Schumi treated his crew like a family so they followed whenever he goes since they knew he was something special Schumi's number 2s may complain but most of the time they can't even deliver when it matters unlike Schumi
It would Improove Race quality with more strategies, drivers could go at 100% without saving fuel. I think It's a shame that even >Pirelli can predict race strategies, that no even strategy tho.
Cars would be more lighter and short, you could make them more narrow even with new 2017 regs. With a simple aero they want, It would be more easy to make a reg to support battles on track.
Cars would look better, I think F1 should be little cars, with big engines going Vroom vroom so fast, as I thought as a kid. This would increase popularity and moneh.
I'm sure the 75% of F1 drivers would go back again on refueling sistem. > but Muh safety Racing tecnologies improove day by day, I don't think Ross wouldn't find a solution on this.
Josiah Reed
