source? I find it hard to believe he'd take the risk of not being in the series at all when indycar owners have the blinders on regarding talent outside the series for the most part. A single good result at Indy each year isn't good enough anymore, just look at Munoz.

How generous of (((them))).
To clarify what I heard from reading between the lines:
The Opticor material did not pass heavy ballistic testing, not because it shattered, but rather because it flexed majorly and allowed objects into the cockpit and put huge pressure on the mounts.
and from what i last heard months ago they were going to test the material of the f16 canopy, maybe that's the reason. i personaly think, if they haven't showed anything since last year it likely because they had to modify the tube to suit a windshield, iirc that's one of the main issues they had with the prototype, in any case i trust americans way more than the fia in respect to safety improvements
>the f16 canopy
That shit can suck up .50, and there's fuck all that will have the kind of ke hitting a race car as the ke of a .50. If they mount it right.
shit's going to be heavy as fuck though, as far as "race car" weight goes. That might have a negative performance impact, if not dangerous at high speed ovals.

Porsche is the German Manufacturer that wanted to adjust the Indycar rules to allow for hybrid systems. If Indycar could reach an agreement with Honda and Chevy, their already committed partners, then I could see Porsche actually joining.
I've also heard Fiat again, if I'm understanding, that's the MFG that is closer to signing than Porsche. Of course that would be one more plate for Indycar to balance if the wanted Porsche also, they would need to agree to a hybrid component to the regulations.
not gonna hold my breath on anybody new joining

For some reason I was dumb and didn't realize this was an ARRC/ASBK joint weekend so the lineup is actually pretty wild

>Supersport 300
>SS600 (they call this supersport but I'm pretty sure it's superstock like Japan)
>Supersport
>ASB1000 (definitely actually superstock)

Actually really curious how the AP250 and FIM "300 but none of the bikes are actually under 300cc" lap times compare since the latter everything is equalized to an R3 anyways and the R25 isn't the best 250 either. Although I think the rider ages are quite different as well.

Oh good auscunt timing has already handled this for me
computime.com.au
>2 seconds slower than two fiddys
Even the R25s are faster, so obviously the rules and competition make it so. At least that confirms my feeling they didn't seem as slow as the usual 300s, which also seems to break up the packs more.
maybe he knows something we dont.
Ok, so, stupid question, but whats the difference between Motp GP and Super bike?
Is Super Taikyu the "saido bai saido" racing, or is that Super GT?
Super GT
Super Taikyu is the real life gran turismo racing
Oh yeah, you're right! I always get them confused.
You know before this ASB1000 race I think the closest to seeing a competitive Honda in a Superstock 1000 race I've ever seen in literally two decades is the dyno restricted ghetto rules in CSBK and that's about the lowest accomplishment possible.
Moto GP is like LMP1, they built from the ground up to be race bikes.
Superbike is like GTE/GT3, they have a road legal bike as a base and are modified to become race bikes.
A.R.C.A (Adolescents Renting Cars Andthenwrecking)
Is Xfinity running without plates as well?
Xfin was running 187, so I don't think their engines will be an issue.
Pruett has rebuked Adam Stern's declaration that Porsche is still an interested party for Indycar engine supply. Talks continue but nothing meaningful is being said.
Sensible, Porsche is only interested in supplying if the series can provide a hybrid component. Which would provide them with a cheaper avenue than F1 or WEC to experiment.
Pruett has also said, in his podcasts, that there is an announcement coming. There is a manufacturer much further along.

Yea there's something fucky going on. Maybe that big spoiler fucks up their aero somehow more than the other cars....or they're just retards.
but it is the fastest, it's so fast that indy can't run there
The track record at Talladega was 221 when Indy still hadn't broken 200, and 13 years before they'd get up to that speed.
The NASCAR wing cars were faster at Talladega in 1970 than USAC would go at Indy until 1977.
Oh right I forgot Foyt going 25mph faster at Talladega than Indy with the same car a year before that.
What kind of speed do you think the current IndyCar would do there?
Mods at Bowman Gray tonight
fanschoice.tv
>Brennan Poole's first race in a modified
>modifieds at Stafford postponed to next week
JUST
With what boost and what tow (and this being ShindyCar, what aero package, since everywhere that's not Indy has to be cucked)? Honestly I have no idea but at Indy in qualifying they're usually already running very close to the lowest drag level that's legal with this underpowered spec shit car and they're super casual flat on single car runs without the qualifying meme boost so they're quite a lot faster in traffic than on their own. So I can't really imagine there actually being much more speed in them, like 240s on meme boost and 230s on regular speedway boost single car. Tow speeds would be stupid without needing to lift at the end of the straight like Indy though.
Old 3.5L car would run well into the 250s in the draft iRacing and I think could manage it solo, and I can probably believe that.
Champ Car? 260 not even a problem. I'm afraid to say higher than that because there's probably some sort of unforeseen reason it wouldn't work.
5 minutes in and already the ppl on the broadcast can fuck off

How is this onboard 100x better than anything we get in NASCAR today? I swear if I was in charge of the sport the first thing I would do is smash every single one of those cocksucking driver cams with a sledgehammer.

Where do these people get the money to race super late models at Bowman Gray? You're guaranteed a massive repair bill each time out.
It costs $1000+ per weekend just to run one not including mechanical failures and accident damage.
No he just realized it was futile because he would've been out of the points by then even if he somehow got the bike running
You know they can't be racing for more than $800 a week
My short track has a meet and greet day on the front stretch where all the participating cars from all classes park and you can take pictures, ask questions, get an autograph. I always ask the super late driver what it costs per weekend to do it, all inclusive.
It's about a grand per weekend on average for the operation without any mechanical failures or wrecks
>13 cautions
Bowman needs to pave everything that isn't the actual football field It might just help
It blows my mine how the biggest asphalt late model races are 10k to win while the biggest dirt late model race to win last year paid Earl Pearson over 400k (The Dirt Million)
Also how is Fanschoice making any money? They haven't mentioned any sponsors of theirs, only the tracks and cars. The website itself has no ads. Granted they only have a couple of announcers and a camera guy but I assume they are being paid.
There are a ton more dirt racers at the local short track level than there are super lates asphalt drivers. That and it seems overall well attended dirt tracks out number well attended asphalt tracks in the sport
sponsored by NASCAR it seems judging by links on the page

Fuck Robin and his 25/8 bullshit.
PT is megabased though. Him and Townsend are a good duo. It's weird that a shit company like nbc woud pick such good commentators. I guess they just asked indcyar who to hire.

Greetings, fellow users of Yea Forums! To show my support for Team Chevrolet (TM) and "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville's" son Chase Elliot, I have done my part as a consumer to purchase the product that was on Mr. Elliott's racing vehicle this past Sunday. Attached is a picture of my most recent purchase; a small, Hot & Ready Pepperoni Pizza from Little Caesar's (TM). Thank you Mr. Chase Elliott for winning the racing event! I will be sure to eat more Little Caesar's (TM) pizza from now on!

What can we expect from the Chile Rally in 2 weeks?
Apparently, from what I read, it's gonna be like Finland, freaking fast and bumpy, but in South-America, basically.
Neat !
google.com
copecrallychile.com
Puma looks like a really fast stage, should be fun to watch.
The terrain should be less rough than Argentina.
wrc.com
terrain is similar to finland, lots of forests, smoother than argentina, weather in this time of the year is cold, high risk of rain, it should be fun
After looking at few "rally chile" videos the general look of road surface looks somehow different. Maybe not as compacted and hard as it is on our roads. Different gravel types, no freeze/thaw cycle in Chile, different road maintenance practice used, etc.
He even bought a Chevy. Poor guy
>general look of road surface looks somehow different.
Really Finland? The roads in Chile look "different" than roads designed by a completely different culture thousands of miles away? Amazing. I bet you figured that out all by yourself too, didn't you?
Thank you so much for keeping us all updated.
What's wrong with Chevy? I was actually rooting for them last night.
That Penske/Gibbs domination had to end.
(I'd prefer Bowman or Kurt to win, though)
well the roads are used mostly by forest companies, gravel is certanly different (sea is 30km away so that might be a factor), and the lowest temps in that zone reach barely a couple of degrees sub zero, lots of rain though (not as much as where i live) and we have dogs on the roads
>What's wrong with Chevy?
I think they're just using that as another example of how much of a fucking loser that "dude" is since he literally bought everything shilled by (((NASCAR))).
craziest stop of the season!
Shit dude who knew that 46% of the American car buying public were just marks for NASCAR marketing, with numbers like those why aren't more manufacturers pouring in
17 second pit stop is not bad considering they had to reshuffle the whole procedure on the go
a little hang up on the right front but otherwise perfect
not bad at all

Oh, shit, night race is this week. They ran a great night race last season, should be good this weekend, too.

how new are you?
It's understandable for them to want exclusive rights especially if it's motorsport.tv(i'm 90% sure it's them), it give some appeal to their service that is otherwise pretty much nonexistent since there are better services out there.
>found the tourist
>pic related
>understandable for them to want exclusive rights
Technology has eliminated "exclusive rights" to broadcast anything, my friend. Today everyone is a broadcaster, and we're just fighting over how soon the media monopoly finally dies.
Just because somebody makes money doing something one decade doesn't mean they have the right to that kind of life forever. (((Broadcasters))) seem to not understand that concept.
My point still stands, they are pumping money into their service and are expecting to get it back with subscriptions but right now the only real appeal over other services is that they have a partnership with Duke Video. This deal would be another way to appeal to the consumers.
It doesn't mean i like it but it's perfectly understandable from a business standpoint.
>The 2019 Super GT Championship looks set to return to an English-language streaming service in the near future but looks likely to feature behind a paywall after sources close to the rights negotiation revealed that Motorsport Network insisted on exclusivity for their planned stream on their ‘premium’ online platform, freezing out previous service supplier Grand Central.
>Sources close to the negotiation though confirmed to DSC that pressure from Motorsport Network has led to an apparent withdrawal of an initial offer for LetsGoRacing to provide free-to-view coverage in favour of exclusivity for the Motorsport Network ‘Premium’ channel.
Time to start finding pirated streams.

Reminder Super Formula was there last year and no one gave a shit
>people don't have a right to decide how their own product is distributed
fuck off commie shit
They really cant because I will just stream it illegally anyway
How dare you use those letters to communicate, those letters are proprietary pal!
hey sweetie sorry.
Because I comment on a ridiculous post means I'm new?
lol how knew are you cupcake?
Did you just play the race card..
Oh shit! They did!
Wait, so they already had a deal, but then the other faggots came in and then they were like "lol nope" and now they don't have a deal? Is that even legal?
Super GT sold the international right to a Malaysian company, they don't need laws.
It isn't hard to imagine anyway. LGR somehow got the rights to air Super Formula for free, which Motorsport had previously behind a paywall and tried to sell to people with no luck. Motorsport obviously felt vengeful and threw money at it in the 11th hour.

>DragonSpeed has withdrawn its BR Engineering BR1 Gibson from this weekend’s Six Hours of Spa.
>The American team, which was due to contest the penultimate round of the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship season with its LMP1 contender, has cited issues sourcing electrical components needed for the car’s rebuild since last month’s 1000 Miles of Sebring as the reason for its withdrawal.
>behind a paywall and tried to sell to people with no luck.
In 2019? Imagine that.
>tldr
They ran out of money.
The problem isn't the paywall, it's their package. Eurosport Player is a good example of a streaming service done well. Motorsport.tv simply doesn't have enough good exclusives to appeal over other services.
>it's their package
I can see that. Quality of stream is important too, and one of the reasons I'm hesitant to start throwing my shekels around to "streaming" sites that don't perform any better than free streams.
does this mean they will concede their automatic spot in Le Mans?
Not yet. They will have to pay a fine to race at LeMans though.

>The development Michelin tyres for LMP1 Privateer teams, tested at Aragon, are designed to give the non-hybrid runners the opportunity to get better performance from their front tyres than the current spec, which were designed for the LMP1 Hybrids, with their front axle energy harvesting and power delivery able to generate much greater front tyre temperatures.
>The opportunity to adopt the new specification was put to an E-vote of current LMP1 entrants recently but was vetoed by one, as yet unidentified privateer team.
Why? Seems like a weird decision.
Motorsport.tv is listing Super GT as free
Probably because of the backlash they would get.
Nope.
Obviously it was done because of all the shitposting and kikery accusations we made on the subject here.
And apparently this seething, sensitive, redddit-tier faggot that always tries to shit up our threads with his beta-pussy whining works for motorsport.tv.
See? Good things happen when you name the Jew and call out their kikery.
You're welcome.
you feeling ok?
He's doing God's work. Worry about yourself.
Nah they just finally have something that they can use to drive adoption of their platform. It's good business to be the new way to watch this for free if they're planning on expanding their premium package and pushing it in the future.
This.
Antisemitism for the win!
So who's getting bumped motor/spee/?
For my money its
>DragonSpeed/ Ben Hanley
>Clauson Marshall/ Pippa Mann
>Dale Coyne Byrd-Hollinger-Belardi/ James Davison
Alonslow
Veach
Hanley
Daly
>2 Andretti cars missing
I doubt it but it would be funny
>glorious cunt bumped out the leaf in a crashed shitbox
hope he makes the field this year again
I hope so too user
>who's getting bumped
pace car driver
wasn't that a gm exec?
just hedging my bets. I really think one of Veach or Daly will struggle a lot. Veach has been trying too hard and Daly will have his own pressure. One of them will probably be in the wall on saturday qualifying and struggle to bump in on Sunday.
Yes lel
