why do you manlets think an unironic 5'10 midget quarterback will be good in the grown mans league?

stick to playing vs students and being an oompa loompa on the side kid

Why do people believe in the Seahawks when they've only lost talent?

No one believes in them except delusional zoomers

You'd think Dee Ford is the greatest pass rusher in the game if you listen to slobbering chiefs-haters.

seethe more lanklet

You'd think the chiefs were competent if you listen to their fans

Sean cannot into driving

Attached: goof.webm (1280x720, 2.93M)

you'd think you were competent if we asked your wife

Was this the point when it was finally revealed that Goof is a fraud that falls apart the second shit goes bad?

You'd think I was actually happy if I had a wife

>oh fuck my foot
>N-NOOOOOOO....!
>GODDAMN IT
>GURLEY HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP

Theoretically, what would happen if a team plane crashed and the entire team died before week 1? Would they just give every team that was scheduled to go against them a W? Or would they send out some jobbers to get shredded for 16 weeks?

They'll have open tryouts and I'll go finally live my dream of being a professional quarterback in the NFL

and bears game

>espn.com/gen/s/2001/0328/1163463.html
>The NFL plan refers to a near disaster as a common accident in which a team loses fewer than 15 players. A disaster occurs when more than 15 players are lost.
>In the NFL, teams suffering a near disaster would be required to play out the season, though they would have priority on all waiver claims. If the team lost a quarterback, it would be permitted to draft a quarterback from a team that has a third quarterback.
>In a disaster (15 or more lost players), the NFL's commissioner would decide whether or not to continue the team's season. If it were to continue, the near-disaster plan would go into effect. If not, a restocking draft would take place in the offseason. In addition, the team would get the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft.
>"There are always these drafts, these mechanisms by which teams can protect a certain number of players and yet the other team can rebuild itself," Brown said. "But it's sort of an uncomfortable topic."

>be the Browns
>finally become a contender after years of suffering, on the way to a perfect 16-0 regular season
>whole team dies in a plane crash
>have to rebuild from scratch
>perennial losers again with a bunch of replacement players

Poetry.

dear nfl writers: half the team cannot trade down in the same draft. more teams try to trade down than up

dear user: we know that but have to get more clicks. we need money.

We're getting fucking Rosen.

Congratulations. He's going to develop into a fine quarterback.

I've thought he was gonna end up Giant since he was in high school. It just makes too much sense. And I think if the Giants get him, he's probably gonna be the starter by the bye

>turns out to be slightly better Eli with more ego and more attitude than OBJ and AB put together
>will somehow shit on up to 4 vastly superior teams in owls and win, seemingly justifying his ego

I'd be fine with a slightly better than Eli.

Murray is dropping to at least your pick though, Cards and Raiders are clearly bluffing

Pats are getting Rosen

>Gruden pulls a fast one and draftd Drew Lock

gruden is retarded and will fall for the manlet murray meme

they aren't drafting a QB

>yfw Gruden brings in Mel Kiper Jr
>the raiders win an owl
>Kiper tells Bill Tobin to fuck off

>more attitude than OBJ and AB put together
Such a meme. He's never done anything to justify this narrative.

What is it about PederGOAT that turns the minds of meme coaches into scrambled eggs?

Whether you like it or not, Lynch is first ballot HOF

Lol no

Lol no

Lol yes

If they ran it at the end of 49 absolutely

Beast quake alone is a HOF worthy play

He wouldve been stuffed like he was often at the goal line

This. Hightower would have put him down

How many games will the Colts win this season?

That doesn't fully guarantee he would've been stuffed, and even if he was they still could've called a timeout after and have one last play.

9,and then get bounced in the playoffs because Luck has turned into a "can't handle cold weather dome babby"

I am so fucking sick of the dome babby meme. So what if a quarterback is better in a dome? All a dome does is make sure field conditions are always perfect. That is how football is supposed to be played. If not we would have giant fucking fans and snow machines fucking everything up all the time. "My qb plays better when the field isn't like it's supposed to be" does not make him better.

t. Drew Brees
Domes are for fucking LOSERS faggot real men play in the rain and or snow

YES the lynch meme has deaded

the bong gets it hes gonna literally die on the field

Fuck you. My team doesn't have a dome (i wish it did because domes are awesome).

Do the Arizona piss bird think they're fooling anybody on Rosen? Theyll be lucky to get a second rounder with the circus they're running

Who is Russell Wilson?

hes atleast 2 inches shorter and lighter. hes not just short hes a framelet

Paxton Lynch has been dead for a long time, meanwhile BEASTMODE, HERO OF OAKLAND, SEATTLE AND BUFFALO has chosen to retire

why can't teams who lose overtime coin tosses simply not allow a touchdown on the first drive? I mean, they've been doing it for most of the game, what makes the OT any different?

In the context of saying that lack of height doesn’t equate to automatic failure, yes.

NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks has identified the five NFL teams that are in position to win the Super Bowl this season: the Patriots, Rams, Besrs, Cowboys and Browns.

>“You can pencil these teams into your playoff bracket, likely as high seeds,” Brooks wrote. “They not only have all of the pieces of the puzzle in place, but they possess the right mix of veterans and youngsters to make it happen in 2019.”

>"Say what you want about Jerry Jones and his approach to team-building, but there's no disputing the promise of this Cowboys' roster. America's Team is loaded with young talent at marquee positions -- and the group's collective playmaking ability could make Dallas the NFC's No. 1 seed at the end of the 2019 campaign."

The Chargers are a meme every single year

Lmao imagine being this stupid

>Cowboys
>Patriots
Pats fan here, they won't repeat, hell they might not even have a SB-caliber team again for a long time. Brady's still around but the "playing til 45" meme is just a meme, there's no offensive superstar now that Gronk's finally shown his destroyed body some mercy, the defensive backfield is old and/or injured, and Bill showed he is still prone to massive lapses in judgment like playing Gronk at safety. the Pats Super Bowl window with Brady/Belichick closes after next season, max, and that's being really optimistic.

True, but I have to hear about them like they're legit for 16 weeks. Every goddamn year

If height mattered Brock Lobster would be the GOAT

Lmao, you have to admit it's hilarious
>have a small win streak in the mid-late regular season
>everyone talks them up for going all the way to the owl
>playoffs start
>the chorgelets shit the bed in hilarious fashion for another year

It's honestly stupid to expect any AFC team besides the pats to win an owl at this point

>Besrs, Cowboys
>higher chance to win the owl than choofs, aints, iggs
learn to code, bucky

It is. Especially watching the Pats annihilate them this last year with Rivers getting BTFO and screaming at everyone, including the Pats bench lol.

Agreed. Retards wouldn't be trying to launch full fledged hits trying to kill each other without them. Domes are still shit though

I agree but people pretend it's a guarantee that Lynch would have gotten the TD. Throwing the ball allows them to steal another play without using a timeout.

I miss that retard. I hope he comes back and retires as a niner.

Shut up Jim Thorpe

not in the slightest m8, nothing last forever. the Pats are the longest-running NFL dynasty to have not switched out a head coach or franchise quarterback at least once, and individuals at those positions have expiration dates on their periods of effectiveness.

>teams that didn't make the championship game a year before
>having even the slightest chance at winning the super bowl
Good luck pushing this narrative here

Despite his wonderlic everyone that plays with him says he's the smartest guy on the offense and knows everyone's assignment on every play on every audible. And he's been in like a dozen systems. I think he's got a photographic memory and one of those minds that works in pictures but like subpar verbal skills. Autism spectrum like.

Lynch >>>>Gore

He's a savant

The Pats were in rebuilding mode last year and won the super bowl

not to mention that there are no direct successors lined up for either Bill or Tom like the Niners with Walsh and Montana, for example. the team knows this and they will ride the big names until the very end.

Legion of zoom

>implying bill won't have his brain on continued life support after his body fails him to become an omnipotent AI and continuing the streak of domination
>implying tom won't replace his aging body and turn into a cyborg

Brady is committed to playing until hes 45, the Pats are likely to grab a QB in this draft to develop until then. Bill wanted to Trade Brady and start Garop a few years ago, the Pats are always looking forward.

>Domes are for fucking LOSERS faggot real men play in the rain and or snow
>Domes are literally fucking gay and ruin the way football is actually meant to be played, which is outside

That really, really, really sucks that your team is too poor to afford a dome. Like in Europe, they cry too because they are too poor to afford Domes

Living in South Louisiana, we have the best of both worlds, one of the biggest outdoor stadiums in the world for the LSU Tigers and a Dome for the Saints

Of the two, being in the Dome is much more impressive. Of course much more visually impresssive (both from the outside and inside), but also the way it makes all the crowd noise echo back down off the Dome roof, it's incredible

I really feel bad and sympathsize for all those fans of teams too poor to have a Dome, that really sucks your quality of like is so shit

As for weather, nothiing is more miserable than going to a game in shitty weather. Rain days at Tiger Stadium ruined my day, and thank God we didn't get much of them (seriously it was absolutely miserable when we had them)

But look at the bright side, if you're a fan of a team too poor to afford a Dome, at least you can hope to be a weather-baby and hope for the weather to come bail out your team like the little babies you are

Here in South Louisiana, surrounded by swamp, it's *miserably* hot and humid all the way thru September (this last year though all of October as well)

While it sucks total complete balls being out in that kind of miserable heat as a fan, you can at least say its good for your team?

It's a smalll glimmer of hope for all those poor fags who don't have the luxury of a Dome, so cheer up!

t. DomeGods

Attached: DomeGods.jpg (628x768, 143K)

>successors lined up for either Bill or Tom
I mean for Tom no. But Bill I'd say there's two. JMD and his son Stephen, though JMD is infinitely more likely.

He has a severe form of dyslexia that makes him nearly illiterate. The fact he has a south Florida accent like Lamar Jackson that slurs words together doesn't help dispel the idea that he's not a retard.

absolutely fucking incorrect

Attached: frank.jpg (600x787, 71K)

Be sure to apologize while you can

>the Pats are likely to grab a QB in this draft to develop until then.
that's what they said about that Etling kid last year, right? did he even touch a football on a game day?

>McDaniels becoming HC
>career-OC becoming HC
OH NO NO NO

People say the same about Gronk. He's a total meathead and I'm not even sure he's fully literate, but he's a football savant according to everyone who's ever interacted with him on a team.

you'll never make the playoffs again lol

You can't have successor quarterbacks in the NFL anymore. The key to the 49ers dynasty was Walsh bullying Montana about how Young is going to steal his job and modern players won't accept that. Bill tried to do the same thing with Brady and Jimmy G and he got bitchslapped by Kraft. The NFL is now a players league.

Etling ran for a 90+ yard TD

Eitling was a 7th rounder, he was never meant to be a successor. Pats will likely take a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round with a slight possibility of getting Grier at 32,or trading for Rosen

Ah my mistakr, Lynch >>>>>>>> Gore

Lynch is the more physical but Gore is the better RB.
>never fumbles
>never gets stuffed
>best pass pro of his gen
>can run routes
Gore has some of the best vision block reads I've ever seen. If you want to teach a kid how to play RB you put on Frank Gore tape. Him and Ladainian Tomlinson have the best fundamentals I've ever seen. Its old school they say that's how Walter Payton and Gale Sayers used to play but that's way before my time.

Just goes to show that Kraft and Brady saved Bill and the Owl last year. Imagine paying the Wop 28m to ride the bench injured while Brady is still putting up numbers with a trash receiving core. I don't think the trade Brady thing ever went that far though.

>I'm a soiboi who can't handle being outside for a couple of hours
>Our fans are so low energy we need a dome to simulate crowd noise
>It costs more money h-haha so it's better trust me fellow soigoys
Fixed that for you

Attached: 1556115852105.png (644x800, 13K)

Yeah a career OC turning to HC is exactly what I don't want either. I'd prefer if Stephen in the next several years gets up the ranks of defensive coaching while he keeps learning and then eventually takes the reins but we have no idea when BB will step out.

Many people do not realize how good Frank Gore was because they do not understand how bad the 49ers were. I am convinced that we would have gone 0-16 at least once without him.

Especially when a fucking KICKER can dictate what team he wants to fucking play for.

If the people you are talking to were saying Etling was drafted to be the future I think you should stop talking to those people, the Pat's are going to grab a guy they like the first few rounds of this draft which has a handful of guys that would be great after sitting a year or two.

>the way football is actually meant to be played
The Super Bowl is played in a dome

Speaking of the patriots I'm surprised Gore ended up on the Bills and not the Patriots he's a Belichick guy down to a T to the core and the pats are always looking for role backs. Gore would step in and give Brady some nice pass pro since he can't move in the pocket anymore.

The feud between Bill and Brady wasn't over wop, that was between Bill and Kraft. Bill exiled Bradys guru trainer for overstepping his boundaries which pissed Brady off.

this
also pic related

Attached: an important post about frank gore.png (2842x304, 151K)

That guy also fucked with Gronks health.

I don't think that Bill ever seriously wanted to start Jimmy over Tom. He wanted Tom to play angry. Trading away a good backup for peanuts is silly and the fact that backups are getting huge contracts is a sign that the NFL is on the decline.

>seahawks get a first round pick and second round next year
>chiefs get clark

who wins in this trade? I thought clark was a top tier pass rusher?

Again, we have Tiger Stadium too and between the too not having a Dome sucks. I'm really sorry your life is so shit but crying about it isn't helping. Be a man and suck it up. I know this is a new concept to you but this could be the start of a new life for you, a life of being a man...

>talks of Redskins trading up to get haskins.
>synder/allen might take another shit quarterback.
>lose draft capital again.
>the suffering never ends.
>my mom is the only one who wished me a happy birthday today

why does it keep happening

This. Literally 9 men in the box every play because our QB is JT O'Sullivan our TE is some slow white dude and our WRs are 40 year old Isaac Bruce and I don't even know who, Brandon Lloyd maybe? And outside of Staley the entire O Line were draft busts who never played on another team.

Who is better, DeMarcus Lawrence or Frank Clark?

Gore or Lynch?
nflcomparisons.com/marshawn-lynch-vs-frank-gore-comparison/

>The Super Bowl is played in a dome.
it is stupid, I agree.

happy birthday user

reminder the only reason gore is not universally agreed to be a better runningback is because he does not have a ring.

the trade makes sense for both teams, but seattle got more value out of it. seattle was desperate for draft picks, and they managed to get more for Clark than everybody expected. KC is in win now mode while Mahomes is on his rookie deal, and pass rush was probably their most glaring need, so they could afford to give up those picks. but the contract they gave him is real fucking steep. for this type of money they sould expect him to be a consistent 15-or-so sack guy. and definitely stay out of trouble off the field

Gore by a mile, Lynch was very good but Frank was a freak.

the only team on that list that will compete for a championship is the patriots

Jan 11, 2019
>As you’d expect, nothing changes for Brees when he steps foot outside the Superdome. On his 1951 attempts from a clean pocket in an open-air stadium within the PFF era, 44 have been batted at the line of scrimmage, 13 have been spikes, 115 have been dropped, and 21 have been thrown away, which gives him an adjusted completion percentage of 80.9% – the best mark among quarterbacks with at least 500 attempts and the only mark above 80.0%.

>To hammer the point home, we can compare his performance and accuracy on his throws of 20-plus yards downfield, which takes away the easier, “expected” throws from the data set.
In an open-air stadium, where many think he falters, Brees has completed 120-of-272 attempts for 4200 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. His passer rating of 109.1 on those throws ranks third among the 31 quarterbacks with at least 200 deep pass attempts in a stadium, while his 15.4 yards per attempt, his 48.2% adjusted completion percentage and 50.7% positively-graded throw rate all rank first.

>In comparison, Brees has logged a passer rating of 104.3 on his deep attempts from an enclosed setting – good for seventh among qualifying quarterbacks – while his 16.6 yards per attempt, 52.3% adjusted completion percentage and his 51.8% positively-graded throw rate still all rank first.

>Brees has been an elite quarterback regardless of the venue. Drew Brees is Drew Brees, no matter where he plays.

Gore. Their rushing stats are basically the same rate but Gore has double the receiving stats and more longevity and games played and 6000 yards more from scrimmage overall and more TDs overall.

>Besrs,
>muh complete roster meme
>Cowboys
>dont even know, wtf
>Browns.
>dream team underdog, its her turn meme, baker is automatically elite

Not because of his lack of professional injury history? Not because he's the better all around back? Not because he's got more yards per carry and more all purpose yards?

Just because he doesn't have a ring.

>44 have been batted at the line of scrimmage
why are those excluded from adjusted cmp%? unlike the other situations, these kinda are the qb's fault

I wish he played on a team with less pathetic fans

thanks, you too.

Go look at the link user posted
Gore has more total yards and more total TDs. They have the same YPC and YPG (gore is actually better by .1 but whatever)

I'm praying JG isn't cemented as a bust this year, I wanna get to see at least one kino Jimmy vs. Tom game

I think it's just a market issue. Teams are so desperate for a good QB they're overpaying average ones. At some point, a team or 2 will get shafted hard on one of these large QB contracts and something will give. Especially if Wentz, Dak, and Goff all get massive contracts.

>*grabs crotch*
>*throws the ball to a closeted homosexual*

Yeah I think my Browns are taking the North this year.

Because then people would have to admit that being a manlet isn't ideal for a QB.

Bill Walsh, Marv Levy, George Seifert, Shanny the Elder, Holmgren, Paul Brown, Don Shula, Joe Gibbs. Was Dick Vermeil a DC way back in the day? I don't even remember I just know he was HC of the Eagles in the 80s before coming out of retirement to coach the Rams.

There isn't a single running back in the Hall that Lynch isn't far worse than. Being really good doesn't get you into the hall of fame. This isn't basketball.

i wish. at least give the man a chance at a ring after the real retard harbaugh fucking blew it.

Didn't George Halas beat the Skins 72-0 with the forward pass?

Just looked Vermeil up he was mostly a Special Teams Coordinator but was an OC once before becoming a college HC. The thing about Martz is: he's ass and he wouldn't recognize a talented QB if he was shaking hands with Peyton Manning at Joe Montana's annual Marin county BBQ.

Big Ben could have better than Brady if he put the work in and didn't have such a shit attitude. Wasted potential.

Ben is overrated to hell and back

reminder that the draft is a total crapshoot and there is no reason to ever get hyped over any single pick for any reason

Maybe if your team is shit at drafting

his defensive gameplan for Super Bowl 25 is in the HoF, wtf are you talking about? then he went and held the Rams to 3 points just this year

new Ravens GM (age 48) Eric DeCosta (took over in January) on how playing Risk and Monopoly prepared him for the Draft:

Q. Eric, there’s only one pick in the first 84 that you guys have after the trade last year. Does that put more pressure on that pick, and does it make you more likely to trade back to accumulate other picks?
>A: If there’s a great player there at 22, we’ll make the pick. But, one thing we’ve shown over the past years is we know how to manufacture picks. So, if the opportunity is there, we’ll have a chance to trade back and accumulate picks. It’s going to be based on the player that is available with pick 22 ... we had a lot more players in this draft than usually that we spent time talking about and are interested in. So, in this draft, if you can accumulate some additional picks, you have a really good chance to help your team
>“We try to plan as much as we can ahead of time, especially looking at the 1st and 2nd round, all the various scenarios that could happen. ... It’s like a game. A coach can’t coach if he hasn’t thought about various scenarios before the game and kind of has a game plan. We try to attack the draft the same exact way.
>It’s a game. For the scouts, we don’t get to coach a game. We don’t get to play in a game. We spend 9 months developing this draft board and players and ranking these players and discussing them, and the coaches come in and contribute in a great discussion. And then, we have a chance to come up with our game plan, and we actually play the game.
>That’s one of the fun things about the draft – the strategic aspect of the draft. I love that. As a kid, I loved to play Risk, I loved to play Monopoly – all those games. To me, this is a game, but it’s not a game we can afford to lose.”

Attached: Ravensdraftgame.jpg (756x740, 196K)

Q. How does not having a second-round pick factor into your aggressiveness, whether that’s moving back in the first round, or maybe even trying to move forward in the third?
>Well, we’ve got two thirds, and we’ve got two fours, and we’ve got two sixes...I think those third-round picks and those fourth-round picks, those are gold for us this year. In this draft, having four picks in those two rounds, that’s an ideal situation to be in.

To Harbaugh:
Q. John, do you think Eric DeCosta will be a little easier to sway if you have something you want to do than former general manager Ozzie Newsome? (laughter)
>A. Harbaugh: We’ll see. I don’t think it’s going to be too much different...In the end, though, it will be Eric’s call, and that’s good.

Hello /NFL/ I come to you from the future. I’ve been traveling through time for a millennia. I know which players your teams will be selecting tomorrow.

If you would like to know who they select, please tell me your team.

Boston Patriots

>We had the chance to study over 300 players...and we expect to probably have about 180 draftable prospects when it’s all said and done.”

>We try to find the players that really fit what it means to Play Like a Raven. ... We’ve got to find players who fit what we want to be. ... Does he fit who we are? ... He’ll have to be an intelligent football player. ... we’ll try to find the guys that can really come in right away. We want guys at all positions, all our draft picks, to come in and contribute right away. ... We’ve had some good drafts recently. Last year was a great example of bringing guys in who could play right away ... We have to do that again. This is a huge opportunity for this football team. We need these younger players to come in and contribute right away

Q Eric, clearly every team in the NFL has needs going into the draft. Are you comfortable this year with that mantra of taking the best player available? And, what impact do your needs play in that decision?
A: We always factor need in. I think that is a little bit of a misconception that some people have. Of course, we look at need every single year. The whole offseason is really based on need. ... if you don’t have an awareness of your own needs, it’s hard to build a team. The idea would be that you’re not going to pass up on a fantastic football player to take a good football player. We’re never going to do that. But, when you have two players close together, of course, you’re going to always address with a need player, a need-based pick. The idea is, No. 1, first and foremost, the challenge is to stack the players in the right way, and that takes nine months to effectively do that. If you can do that, and you’re right with your stack, everything else kind of falls into place.

Attached: DeCostaRavenideal.jpg (649x345, 83K)

Harbaugh on increasing the chances of a pick being a great pick:
>you just recognize it when you see it. If you have some confidence in your ability to evaluate, which these guys do, and then [know] how they fit our team and how they fit what we’re trying to do structurally or schematically or our needs, you know them when you see them. ... If you look all around the league, the first round is a 50/50 proposition, at best – and that’s the first round. That’s the kind of process this is. But, if you know what you’re looking for, you know what kind of team you want to build, how they fit your team, and we all communicate that and we talk about it a lot, we have a really good shot.

To GM DeCosta:
Q. Is there a position where collectively, there’s a sense of, “That is absolutely our No. 1 priority.”
>A. I don’t think so. I think in general... It would be foolish for us to sit up here and say we have no needs across the board at all the positions, because we certainly know we do. ... the idea is to build a well-rounded team at every position ... I’m kind of reminded of the 1970 Orioles team, and they were strong at every spot. They had a great defense, they had a great offense, and they had an unbelievable pitching staff. That’s our goal every single year

Attached: HarbaughDeCosta.jpg (620x554, 109K)

San Diego Chargers

These interviews don't actually happen right? You could just template these things out every year.

Q. Do you think you will try to get deeper at quarterback through the draft?
>A: “We signed Robert Griffin III, as you guys know, so we really feel good about those two guys, and the challenge will be to find if there is a player we think can help the football team. Who is that guy? How does he fit? What’s his skillset, personality?
Ravens have no other QBs on the roster other than those two.

He should be able to get him at #32. Nobody else wants him in the 1st other than Kliff and Jon Gruden. Kliff is being overruled by his front office, and the only reason the Arizona front office even let the idea of them taking Murray at #1 to float around so much was not just to see if it would interest their fanbase (it didn't) but to fool Gruden into falling in love with and and trading up to get him (you've seen Gruden's QB show and on MNF, he falls in love with everything). Arizona is trying to play him like a fiddle, and why not? He is Jon Gruden after all

Hiring Gruden will be the biggest mistake of all time if he trades up for Murray.

Plus the Eagles are set up so nicely to be flexible. They don't have any positions that really need to be filled. Howie played this offseason so well. I hope they take advantage.

I'm REALLY hoping Howie doesn't buy into the Hollywood meme.

Or if he does, then he better get a better haul for Agholor than any of us would expect.

Agholor and a 6th for Telvin Smith, who says no?

ideally, some top 10 prospect (Brian Burns? Christian Wilkins?) slips into the mid to late teens, and we use the extra second round to move up and snag them. at the same time, we are indeed positioned to just sit at 25 and take BPA, which would be a little boring but probably the right move all things considered. the one thing I won't abide is trading out of the first, that shit never works.
while I think Agholor's days are numbered for whatever reason, Brown doesn't seem like an immediate replacement to the point that they'd consider him at 25; he's really more of a DJax clone. i'm open to a WR in the 2nd or 4th round, but I think Howie and Joe know enough not to splurge on that position early in this relatively weak class.

>tfw when your team either gets a franchise defensive player or fleeces the redskins

Attached: jet dogs.png (795x546, 1.27M)

It's crazy how decimated the Ravens are at WR:

Ravens WRs last year:
>715 yds - John Brown (age 29)
651 yds - Willie Snead (age 27 in Oct)
>607 yds - Crabtree (age 31)
196 yds - Chris Moore (age 26 in June)

Michael Crabtree was cut and John Brown just left via Free Agency (to the Bills), leaving Baltimore dangerous thin at the position. Willie Snead and Chris Moore are the top-two guys on the depth chart right now, with second year receivers age 22 Jordan Lasley (5th Round last year out of UCLA) and age 24 Jaleel Scott (4th Round last year of of New Mexico State) behind them. As rookies, Lasley didn’t appear in one game and Scott was on Injured Reserve the whole season. They could battle each other this preseason for a roster spot.

Q Eric, you look at the WR group, and D.K. Metcalf in particular – and John, you talk about big, physical receivers – he certainly fits that category. But, is there any concern that he’s more of a workout guy than a production guy on the field?
>A (Eric): He’s a guy that we’re looking at...and we’ll assess D.K. versus the field. How does he stack up versus these other guys at all these other positions? And, we’ll have a decision on draft day when we’re on the pick

Q Does he remind you of anyone? What do you think, Joe?
>A (Director of College Scouting Joe Hortiz): “Maybe a little Demaryius [Thomas] to him, just in terms of size, physicality, vertical speed. He can come off the ball, he can bend in line.
>A (Eric): “With the football, maybe Terrell Owens, running with the football after the catch.”

Q. Joe, do you like this wide receiver class? It seems to be pretty diverse.
>A (Joe): Absolutely, and it is. ... I think there are a lot of wideouts in this group, this year’s class, that have the things you’re looking for

>derek carr literally BTFO

people always fall in love with the idea of snagging an "underrated" prospect at RB or WR in the later rounds, but it never works out as well as you think. while you're counting on Donnel Pumphrey or Shelton Gibson to be the steal you thought they would, the teams who shoot their shot in the 2nd round on Alvin Kamara or Juju Smith-Schuster usually profit more.

it's understandable to think that there are going to be a ton of good guys in the 4th or later if you're looking at a mock draft's big board idea of how things are going to play out, but in real life things are predicated less on some nebulous idea of "team needs" and more on the players that end up being available. if we're on the clock in the late second, and Miles Sanders or Hakeem Butler are still there, I'd feel much more comfortable with them than waiting for Devin Singletary or David Sills. neither position is necessarily "premium", but if the Eagles are truly focused on a WR I want them to find a quality player rather than another bandaid.

and at TE, looks like they won't be going there unless they see an upgrade too good to pass on.

They bring all their TEs back, two of whom they took the 1st and 3rd last year and the other two they took in the 2015 Draft

2018 Raven TEs
552 yards -- Mark Andrews, age 23 in Sept (3rd Round last year out of Oklahoma)
213 yards -- Nick Boyle, age 26 (5th Round, 2015 out of Delaware)
163 yards -- Hayden Hurst, age 26 in Aug (1st Round last year out of South Carolina)
143 yards -- Maxx Williams, age 25 (2nd Round, 2015 out of Minnesota)

Attached: Ravens2018TEs.jpg (570x425, 86K)

I don't want them to draft a RB at all this year, t.bh. And I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a developmental WR late, especially considering the receiving talent they have currently. I'd be happy with Gary Jennings or Jalen Hurd or someone like that with a late pick.

Wtf happened to maxx williams? Did the ravens sink another players career before it could begin?

the problem with taking a developmental WR late is that it's a very low probability gamble. the risk is low, but the chance of reward is also very low. from 2008-2017, the six WRs the Eagles have drafted below the second round have combined for 23 receiving touchdowns, most of which were from Riley Cooper (18 TDs). the four WRs they've taken in the second round and up have combined for 139 touchdowns.

Fair enough. Any late pick is a gamble though. What's the best position to take with a 6th round pick, in your opinion? Maybe O-line depth, or a DB (in years with better depth there than this one)?

>Drafting a quarterback in the first round
Adorable.

Tom Brady's nickname needs to be The Boston Bomber.

>At a press conference today in Kansas, Johnson County DA Stephen Howe told reporters that his office would not file any criminal charges against Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill or his fiancée, Crystal Espinal. According to KCTV5, Hill had been implicated in two police reports filed in March by Espinal, which alleged child abuse/neglect and battery against a juvenile. The Kansas City Star also reported at the time that the battery incident involved the couple’s son, and that it resulted in his broken arm.

>During the press conference, Howe said that his office was “deeply troubled” by the situation and concerned about the child’s welfare.

>“We believe that a crime has occurred. However, the evidence in this case does not conclusively establish who committed this crime,” he said.

>“We feel we’re at an impasse at this point, and any further investigation would be unwarranted.”

Howe would not go into more details, both because of an ongoing Child Protective Investigation and to protect the rights of the child, but he did say the child was safe at this moment. Howe added that he had not talked to or contacted the Kansas City Chiefs or the NFL. The NFL had reached out for documents, Howe said, but he explained that it’ll only be allowed to see them if they become open to the public. However, because this incident involves a minor, that’s very unlikely.

>Back in 2015, before entering the NFL, Hill pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after he assaulted Espinal, who was then pregnant. Hill received three years probation for that crime. The NFL has yet to hand down any discipline for Hill for this most recent incident.

definitely OL. so much of how good any particular offensive lineman will become is dependent on their coaching, it's why the Patriots consistently have a top OL despite starting scrubs a lot of the time. if you can find some guy who's mostly raw material but has a lot of potential, it's always worth it to take that minimal risk. positions like RB and WR are (mostly) interchangeable and production from those positions can be finagled out of low level guys if you have a great offensive system or QB, but you always need offensive line depth.

>si.com/nfl/2019/04/24/nfl-draft-social-media-kyler-murray-nick-bosa-josh-allen-old-tweets-cleanup
>At the NFL Scouting Combine in 2013, a prospect walked into his 15-minute interview with a team and, to his surprise, was handed a stack of papers as thick as a novel. He flipped through the heavy pile, expecting to see blank play diagrams for some board work. Instead, each page was full of old tweets, taken straight from his own Twitter timeline.

>A sampling:

>I want some mac and cheese… baka this curfew… on the road again... don’t even know … ready for dinner… takin care of business…

>[...]

>What the f—- do you want to do? the team’s decision-makers asked him. Tweet or play football? If you want to play football, how the f—- do you have time to prepare or play when you are tweeting every five seconds?

>Needless to say, that team did not draft this prospect, but another team did. After that fateful combine meeting, the prospect slightly curtailed his serial tweeting. But he still tweeted enough to annoy most teams and lead many to believe he was going to be a bad locker room guy, a me-first guy instead of a team-first guy. Since then, he’s been a team captain and Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, and is now among the higher-paid players at his position.

If you're missing the draft, you better be getting a blow job while watching that movie.

The Ravens' other needs are a pass rusher at 3-4 OLB and on the OL, specifically at the C and LG sports:
>C Matt Skura - struggled mightily at times this season and graded out as PFF’s #25 starter this year
>LG Alex Lewis - was PFF's No. 64 guard out of 81 qualifiers, struggling badly both as a run and pass blocker, and has a concerning injury history

a name you see a lot brought up with the Ravens is Garrett Bradbury, C, N.C. State (arguably the best C in the draft)
>Bradbury might be the most solid, foolproof option for the Ravens. His college production and eye-catching combine numbers show he has the tools to thrive at center — where the Ravens could use an immediate upgrade and a cornerstone-type player to build around. A top-notch center can boost a run-based offense and give quarterback Lamar Jackson a long-term partner up front. In my mind, wide receiver and edge rusher are more glaring needs (Baltimore can get by with returning center Matt Skura), but there’s reason for the Ravens to jump at the chance to grab Bradbury

but the Ravens say this is a Draft that is deep at C:

Q When looking at the center position, some of the top guys, what are you kind of seeing as their strengths in this draft?
>A I would bet that you probably have an average of maybe one center a year – maybe less – going in the first round. ... Now, this year, it’s a little different. I can think of three or four centers in the draft that have a chance to be first-round, second-round picks. So, we’ll see

Finally, the Ravens other need is Pass Rusher as the Ravens lost both Za’Darius Smith to the Packers (8.5 sacks last year) and Terrell Suggs to the Cards (7.0 sacks last year), and the two of them accounted for 36% of Baltimore’s 43 sacks last season. The Ravens could have one the best secondaries in the NFL, but the Ravens could neutralize that strength by not bringing in a pass rusher. They might argue that they have some young players on the roster who might be able to fulfill that role, but third-year linebackers Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams have showed very little promise.

Luckily for them, this draft is deep with edge rushers

Q. Eric, an overview of this draft? Is there one position that you think is extremely deep in talent, and is there one position that you think might be a little light in talent?
>A. I think secondary is pretty strong. There are a lot of really good safeties in this draft. Offensive line, interior offensive line, I think pass rusher is also a very strong position, as well, whether that’s defensive end or outside linebacker.

Q You mentioned the strength of the pass rushers. Is that more interior than edge, or is it really both in your mind?
>A I think both. There are good players that play defensive end, outside linebacker, guys that fit a 4-3 and a 3-4. There are some really good interior pass rushers, as well, that we think can come in and help us get to the quarterback. We’re excited about that

The Bears (12-4 in 2018) have no needs this Draft according to their GM Ryan Pace

The only thing people can come up with that they can do to improve their team is to draft a RB to replace Jordan Howard, who led the Bears with 15.6 carries per game last year but was traded to the Eagles because his production fell off to 3.7 yards per carry last year (his diminished success was a frequent topic of conversation throughout the season in Chicago last year)

Chicago Sun-Times:
>Pace claimed that the Bears don’t necessarily need to add a RB because they acquired Mike Davis
>“He’s built to handle a lot of carries,” Pace said. “He’s built kind of short, compact, thick, rugged. We like who we saw on tape. We liked him from the very beginning. Coaches and scouts connected on that acquisition.
>“We like Mike Davis. We like that running back room.”
>“We’re excited to just let it play out. I think we’ve got a good variety of running backs back there to use. Mike Davis brings a unique skillset that fits that room.”
>“Right now, I know running back’s been talked about a lot, but we feel good about that position,” Pace said.
>“There’s always a storyline with every draft,” Pace said. “I understand why it’s that way, but I don’t feel like we go into this draft saying, 'Man, we have to take this position'
>“There’s no pressing, huge needs,” he said. “We can honestly select the best players. That’s a great spot to be in.”

Chicago Sun-Times:
>It’s lying season. Either Pace is bluffing or he’s trying to prepare Bears fans for the possibility that they don’t add a running back in the draft.

Also, the Bears all-purpose RB, Tarik Cohen (who had 1169 yds last year: 444 rushing and 725 receiving) said on Monday that:
>Bears’ Tarik Cohen: “I think we will probably get a running back,” Cohen said. “I’m not sure — I’m really not included in those conversations.”

Attached: MikeDavis2018.jpg (607x521, 80K)

>all-purpose RB, Tarik Cohen
lol

all-purpose means 3rd down back, its used to describe players like Tarik Cohen. For example, if you followed college football, recruiting is huge. And they rate the RBs as either RBs (your three-down backs) or APB (all purpose backs, 3rd down backs, etc like Cohen)

A GM saying that he has no needs is the same as a GM saying he has a really serious need, but he hope nobody figures it out

All-purpose means all-purpose, and I'm not putting Cohen in on 3rd down if I need a blocker or a short yardage run. Use your secret language all you want, words mean what words mean

One more day lads fuck it's gonna be a good draft

I never really understood why fans get so into researching prospects, making their own boards, and making mocks. You have no say in who your team drafts so why bother spending all that time researching players and grading them?

I'm just tell you what it means so that you know

Attached: APB.png (612x447, 51K)

because you can bitch and moan on an anime image board when your pick goes to another team and becomes a pro bowler

how do you know if your team drafts well if you don't watch cfb?

McSwirley is not Elite

By watching hours of game film in your garage every February like you're Al Davis on a wanking session

Considering good QBs are never projected well in the draft, who cares about the draft?

Literally Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Elway, Marino, Luck, Bradshaw

Cringe and retardpilled

You don't. People can read all the draft profiles and combine numbers they like but without watching these guys play you'll never have a proper understanding of what they are

>rg3
>teboq

You caught my troll, but Luck is elite when he's not broken in half and has a somewhat competent GM
>these literal children don't know that phippy is elite

>RG3 was an option QB
>He had great success in a zone option running offense
>His knee exploded and he lost all confidence in his game
Literally anyone who saw his games with Baylor, and knew what happened to option qbs in the NFL knew that was gonna happen

>Tebow was a tight end/fullback playing QB
>He was a terrible QB
Brain memes for you

Thanks for the explanation user I was actually wondering why people kept putting that

Thoughts on Andre Dillard?

He's gonna get a shit ton of holding calls if he plays right away, but if he develops for a year or two and picks up yoga he could be a really solid starter.

Elite at bitching like a girl?

Would you rather he be like Brady and be elite at kissing little boys?

they'll need another strong safety, WR, and some depth at CB and OL to get a complete roster, but they have enough players for a playoff roster

>without watching these guys play
jesus you think you're some sort of league scout
I've never watched CFB and I could learn literally everything you know and put together a mock that's logical in like 2 hours.
The truth is nobody knows what the fuck they're talking about and the draft is 90% luck.

Shit, that's right. I forgot Amos was in Green Bay, now. Hello Johnathan Abram

>literally 5 picks in the entire draft
>NO IT'S FINE GUYS WE HAVE A PERFECT ROSTER
this is real life cope if I've ever seen it

who is laurence maroney

When has Luck ever bitched about anything? Are you a fucking retard?

>90% luck
It's more like 60% luck, 30% figuring out who will actually put in the work, and 10% Dorsey and Belichek cackling while they doop the rest of the league

>sexualizing the intimacy between family members
Fucking disgusting, this is why Rivers has never won a meaningful playoff game in 20 years.

Attached: yasfmrn.jpg (457x640, 78K)

who?

Interested in what prospects people think are the most overrated by position group and why

>QB
Daniel Jones by a fucking mile for me. Dude has been a full time starter for 3 years and not once did he win 8 games in a season, not once did he throw for 3,000 yards in a season and not once did he throw for 7 YPA in a season. His good games are few and far between I just don't see how a player this inconsistent at moving the ball on offence is getting any sort of 1st round buzz

>RB
Miles Sanders. Dude is a one year starter who has some good physical traits for the position however he wilts in big games (see Ohio State, Michigan and Kentucky) and puts the ball on the ground far too often. This is both a bad and thin RB class but I don't see him getting drafted in the first 3 rounds

>WR
This ones hard because it's such a deep and talented group however Miles Boykin who blew up at the combine is a dude I just can't get behind. He doesn't play nearly to his 40 time, his route running is well below NFL standards and he doesn't give you anything after the catch. Think he's an athlete playing WR and would be extremely lucky to be drafted before the 5th round

>TE
Josh Oliver is a guy who gets a lot of buzz because of his size and catch radius. Dude is the definition of a project to me. He's a lumbering runner who will struggle massively at the next level to separate against LBs let alone DBs and he doesn't offer much as an in line blocker

>O line
Kaleb McGary has a great story and I think he's got great character/work ethic which means he's got a good chance to prove me wrong. Having said that his play at RT is not good, his footwork needs a complete overhaul and to top it all off he has arrhythmia which is a truly serious heart condition not a slightly enlarged heart like people are freaking out over with Montez Sweat. Dude is a mammoth and I think his best projection is at Guard but the round 2 talk is way too rich for me

>a meaningful playoff game
>this level of qualifying and goalpost shifting
Brady has never won a single game without a coach on the sidelines. Explain that.

See? I can do it, too.

Landing once-in-a-generation HoF prospects is 90% luck. Landing solid contributors to build your team into a contender is mostly skill.

>Tom Brady kisses his son on the mouth
Is this normal? My dad never kissed me at all and my mom/grandmother only kissed me on the cheek. I don't think I was an unloved child.

>autism

didnt need somebody from the future to tell me that

>I could literally learn everything you know in two hours

Fucking lol. I don't get paid for it but I love the draft I literally put together my own top 150 board and watched multiple games on more than 200 prospects this year. I literally posted my final one here a week ago

Fuck outta here

Attached: Cruisey.jpg (739x415, 32K)

>getting any sort of 1st round buzz
Who the fuck is talking about Daniel Jones before the second round, and how many concussions have they had?

>QB

Kyler Murray, I'm 95% certain he's actually 5f8

>RB

Josh Jacobs, I crunched the numbers on my model and turns out he didn't have any 1,000 yard season.

>WR

Hollywood Brown. Doesn't have that prototypical feel for the game but I think he would be a great fit for my hometown patriots

>TE

Noah Fant, Isn't a mauler in the run game.

>I don't know anything and will be wrong in 3 months
ftfy

What's your opinion on Jay Tiuli out of Eastern Washington, then, you gibbly?

Heaps of people are mocking Daniel Jones to the Giants at either 6 or 17 for some fucking reason. Guys from TDN, NFL.com and BR all have in going in round 1 in multiple mock drafts

I don't understand it for the life of me

hell I knew bears fans who gave the vikings shit all last offseason because they did nothing relevant in the offseason and instead rolled with their "complete roster" meme and couldnt fathom that some hot defense overperforms every season

The only thing this draft is good for is TE, D-line and secondary. Lots of teams will get burned reaching for unproven offensive talent

Oddly enough, your choice for RB and TE will both be easily outstriped by players from KY. Snell is a legitimate bruiser, and CJ Conrad is probably the most underrated prospect in the draft for what he actually looks like on the field

Attached: whatthefuk.webm (1280x720, 1.87M)

jfc kys already retard

Did they even watch a Duke game? The dude is hopping in the pocket and staring down his target all game. He's gonna get eaten alive in the league

Never heard of him

Again I don't get paid for this and I work full time so I'm not gonna watch or know about all 700 or so draft eligible prospects

To be honest I think the deepest class this year is WR. So many players who might have been 1st rounders in other drafts are going to be available on day 2

Apparently being 6'5 and having David Cutcliffe as your college coach makes how you actually play not matter lmao

When has Rivers ever won a meaningful playoff game, VPNfag?

Bears are set at both WR and SS. They have no needs other than depth and preparing for 2020 and beyond

Yeah. Dustin Keller

What?

Alright got distracted forgot to do overrated defensive prospects

>Interior D line
Ed Oliver was an outstanding college player don't get me wrong but he has serious concerns. He's strong and has a great first step but he lacks a diverse array of pass rush moves, is a little too light for a 4-3 DT and consistently gasses out in the 2nd half of games. I still rate him as a top 30 player but I don't know where you play him in the pros. I got my hopes up when he weighed in at 287 at the combine and still performed well in testing but he was back down to 282 at his pro day which shows it was clearly water weight. I think playing him as a 5 tech in a 3-4 might be his best fit in the pros

>Edge
Been saying Rashan Gary wasn't worth a 1st round pick long before the labrum issue started circling on Twitter. Great traits but Jim Harbaugh is a top tier coach and if he couldn't get more production out of a guy that talented it shows he's either not a hard worker or is simply an athlete who can't translate his abilities to being a consistently dominant football player. I'd take him teammate Chase Winovich over him any day of the week

>LB
Mack Wilson ain't a top 100 player. People assume he can cover because he's one of the few LBs in this class who has multiple picks the last two years but on tape he's regularly slow to react in the passing game and isn't around the ball nearly enough as much as he should be in the run game. If he didn't play for Alabama nobody would be saying he's the 3rd best LB in this class over Tre Watson or Te'Von Coney

>CB
Lonnie Johnson Jr is a huge physical CB who is getting a lot of hype right now but I don't see him sneaking into the 1st round like some think. He is slow to react to underneath throws and had almost no ball production in his college career. I think he has a high ceiling because of his size/speed/toughness but for me personally his teammate Derrick Baitey is a much better CB prospect

It’s basically impossible to watch all the games unless you’re extremely autistic and DVR each one. I watch all Colts games and interesting primetime games

Eagles games, division rival games if it's important, primetime games if it's not awful, other good games if i don't have anything to watch.

>Not letting goodell steal your money for GameDay so you can watch all the other games from your seat in the stadium

Lance always gets pissed at my replies lmao seriously I like most of his draft profiles but most of his takes in terms of where players are expected to land are fucking awful

Don't get me wrong I love all those Kentucky guys they all play tough and fast but just in terms of Lonnie Johnson specifically I think he's more of a mid round guy than 1st or 2nd rounder like some are suggesting

12 would be too rich for me but Ed Oliver would be a great pick up for the Packers if they get him at 30. They have a very underrated front as it is so adding Oliver to the mix with Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels would be huge

>red zone

Before or after you masturbate to Emma's feet?

You need to look in the mirror. I've never seem anyone come up with takes as dumb as yours and I've seen a lot of dumb people try to give their takes

Pats are picking up an elite wr, finding an undrafted TE that nobody even thought of drafting who turns out to be a god, and Belichek will keep fucking Giselle on a pentagram altar while the goat watches on and gives his blessing

if you don't see the pun, you're a fucking disgrace

it would be amazing if she gains a little bit weight.

>let Ford go for peanuts
>trade away a first round pick for an inferior pass rusher Frank Clark, who has a history of domestic violence

oh, speaking of domestic violece they had to cut their starting RB mid season over it. oh also speaking of domestic violence their WR Hill who dabbed in DV in college, broke his sons arm this off season

Definitely a good fit but still a little rich for me

Za'Darrius Smith is such a fun player man you're gonna love him on your team. Wasn't surprised at all he got 17 mil per year he played way better in 2018 than his sack numbers suggest

What takes of mine with this draft are dumb? I give my reasons behind everything I say about these prospects. I think the only position group I massively disagree with what a lot of analysts are saying is this QB class anyway. Trace McSorley and Will Grier are my top 2 QBs and I have Fresno States Marcus McMaryion as my QB5 but my other position groups are all fairly consistent with guys like Daniel Jeremiah, TDN etc
