Melo is partly the reason those teams never put it together. In the year he left the Nuggets and the year after, they finished in the same exact spot they were in with Melo, first round playoff exit. They made it to the playoffs both times without him, and didn't advance just the same as when they had him.

He had those two years with Chauncey Billups on the Nuggets; they didn't win a championship in 08-09 cuz Kobe was on a mission that year.

He played with the recent renditions of the Rockets and Thunder too, two great opportunities that he totally flubbed.
