>tfw to smart too win the CL with unlimited money
He did a fine job with Bayern
He needs to go to PSG, soon it'll be
>round of 16
>round of 16
>round of 16
man city are a bunch of losers that shit themselves every time they face top competition
he overachieved with boomern
Reminder that Derby County have been to as many Champions League/European Cup semi-finals as Man City
how many premier league titles do they have?
None, and they still have as good of a record in Europe as Man City
Remember this guy carried City to further to the CL than Guardiola
1 semifinal with Villarreal
1 semifinal with Man City
1 quarter final with Malaga
Pellegrini used to be elite
I dont like Pep but for gods sake, how many different teams have won a CL in the last 10 years? You guys are retarded if you think thats the only way to measure a manager. Zidane won 3 CL titles but barely won a local league by 3 points, and lost 2 with 20 points each.
nobody cares about the lolmier league
>plays tactically inflexible football that suffocates smaller teams but doesn't adjust tactics much against the giant sides.
So the greatest managers in the world with access to the greatest players can get results against him in some big matches.
I think we just need to realize that pep's barca side had some truly special irreplaceable players in xavi, iniesta, messi, dani alves etc.
>but doesn't adjust tactics much against the giant sides.
You don't know what you're talking about. He got fucked in every CL knockout game beyond his Barcelona tenure precisely because he fucked up his tactics and went too conservative against the big boys to the point that his own players were clearly uncomfortable.
>went too conservative
every game he plays is extremely conservative. They play short and through the middle and work to break down everyone. Pep only wants to defend on the ball. He won't just set up low or press and try and play direct no matter what the circumstance.
Not seeing the shame in losing to any of the listed teams over 180 minutes. They're all really good sides in the years he faced them. The worst result there is probably spurs
He DOES adjust tactics and gets it wrong. Laporte at left back, Gundogan at RM etc.
Fine, maybe what I meant to say is that he thinks only about swaming midfield and playing defensively by holding the ball. His tactical changes are almost always to this effect - swamp the midfield more than usual and keep the ball away from the other team even more efficiently.
He won't just buy a couple of hard runners and ask his team to play murderball when it calls for it. Mourinho talked about how to stop this season's Ajax:
youtu.be
He says "don't give them the game that they want" meaning mark their best attackers out of the game and play murderball on their creative players so that they don't feel so confident getting on the ball. Pep won't just put someone like Wanyama or Felliani or Pepe or Henderson/Wijnaldum/Milner in his team to play away leg football where you don't necessarily dominate possession but the opposition picks up some bruises. Silk doesn't always travel but muscle does.
It has never been his job to win the champions league with City
the champions league is a joke rigged competition that should have absolutely no weight or merit
>Your Wanyamas, your Fellainis, your Milners
True. He'll play guys like Laporte, Delph and Gündogan out of position because they're better at keeping possession than, say, Mendy or Sane. This results in lacking pace which makes their attack blunt and defense vulnerable. It's really naive from a manager of that calibre with (surely) enough experience about that.
Don't take me the wrong way: I love Milner. he's literally been my favorite player since aston villa. I think he at his best is what Wenger described when he talked about the potential of jack wilshere: Combination of pressing and running defensive solidarity AND creative ability and his energy tank just doesn't run out either.
>used to be elite
west ham is unironacally breaking into top 6 next season
>no shame losing to English teams they finish 20 points ahead of in the league
cant even beat arsenal with UEFA referees helping him.
not having barca UNICEF/UEFA clout is exposing this bald fraud
Why them and not Lester or Wolves
That's literally all the city owners want. They couldn't care about the league, they want the CL
Irreplaceable refs*
Groningen played murderball against Ajax a few days ago and that game was hard as fuck. They butchered De Jong so hard. Don't try to play football against this team because they are better at it...KILL MURDER DEATH, anti-football aka Mourinho is the only way.
ja li està bè, això li passa per abandonar-nos, traïdor cap pelat
Because they have Pellegrini and he is elite
Zidane is the GOAT manager
is there a quote on this? sure this isn't just some bullshit media narrative?
Zidane had the perfect combo of luck and refball.
The next few seasons will determine if he really is a GOAT tier manager where he actually has to build his own team
In isolation none of the City defeats are that bad but you'd expect him to win at least one of those games across the three seasons
how can one man be so bald
How can one man be so bald at his job?
It's funny how an unexpected amount of success makes people suspicious of his talent. Had he one just one CL the season he won the league and everyone would be praising him, but suddenly winning 3 in a row makes him and the competition itself more questionable
I like the way Mourinho explained it when he talked about how he beat the side in Europa league final:
>"They complain about slow build up, they complain about Fellaini, they complain about physicality - they complain because they can't cope."
