Well it's over; we've finished 2nd

Well it's over; we've finished 2nd.

Who do we sign to actually have a chance at beating the brilliant City and fending off the inevitable challenge from Ole's United?

Bumping this amazingly well thought out thread. This discussion (and certainly not bait) needs to be had lads!

you won't have any contention with ole's united for a while, which is a good thing coz they're in meltdown mode again

Once Ole clears out all the cancer from the dressing room and gets some proper lads in the squad, they'll be flying next season.

Liverpool have to sign 3 Mane level players just to put on the bench. City have a squad to sustain competing the full season in multiple tournaments.

Like who? Mane is a £100m player.

we have a perfect squad, they just should stopping shitting themselves

For me, it's memepiss to Liverpool

Liverpool were like 10 points clear at one point, so you had all the chance in the world at beating City but fucked it all up.

I meant the Mane when he was at Southampton and Salah at Roma. That guy who is mature but is going under the radar.

Off the top of my head, Richarlison from Everton but a bit older.

>Zaha
>rabiot

Unfortunately this is true look at any of the big clubs and you literally have to put world class players on the bench sometimes just in case we get an injury if Salah or van dijk get an Injury it's curtains

Liverpool's defence is sorted and with plenty of depth for years to come. Midfield is fine tbqh. Don't know why Shaq isn't playing. The real improvement has tk come from an actual striker replacement for Sal*h. He's fucking shit. If he wasn't so shit against any good team we would have beat United, Everton, and City at home. That sandnigger cost us the league.

if you had kept coutinho you'd have won vs united and everton

]

>Liverpool have to sign 3 Mane level players just to put on the bench
So you think that Mane level players would accept to sit on the bench? You fool.

>Liverpool defence is sorted

If van dijk doesn't get an injury the guys playing his arse off right now we need another top class defender to give the guy a rest so we don't burn him out

Yeah definitely sometimes you have to pay them the money to sit on the bench but it's necessary

Sané is literally looking to leave Shitty because he's against wasting his time on the bench hoping for Sterling to get injured. You can't ask of good players to fill that role, at most you'll get a Drinkwater there.

>Ole's at the wheel

not arsed about it the league, expecting nothing from wednesday. hopefully we win the champions league.

There is no one like Van Dijk, and what's the point of having 5 CBs? Right now is Gomez>Matip=Lovren. There are much better CBs out there than Matip/Lovren but none that would sit on the bench waiting for an injury.

>What Liverpool REALLY need:
- A 2nd choice striker who can actually score goals off the bench or when he gets a chance to start. Liverpool's version of Gabriel Jesus. Sturridge is gone and Origi isn't a goal scorer.

- Two players who can play on the wing or centrally who is good enough to step in as first choice depending on form/injuries. Liverpool's version of Mahrez and Sane. Again, Shaqiri isn't on their level.

- A left-back to cover for Robinson. City have Mendy, Zinchenko, Delph, Danilo. They're fucking loaded on that side (and the other too)

If Liverpool were 10 points clear at this stage they'd end up with 107 points. Can you like think before you spout shit

Just need a player who can get around 20 g+a . And can play creative passes.

Are there any good #10 playmakers on the market? Maybe not necessarily the type that needs to spend 5 seconds on the ball picking out the perfect pass but more like a more modern all-around type that can also contribute defensively and press. Prime Stevie would be so devastating on this team.

Believe it or not I think there's even more potential in this team that can be unlocked with a playmaker that can deliver those cutting-edge passes, especially given how reliant this team is on pace and counters.

Also a #9 striker that offers some hold-up play and can be a threat from set pieces. I just think they need another option sometimes against the park-the-bus type teams like Cardiff yesterday. Note how they broke the deadlock yesterday off a corner.

I refuse to give up on Sturridge btw even if I'm the only one.

Who was that 'french' guy they were linked to?

Nabil Fekir from Lyon? I think they almost had him last summer but it hit a snag somewhere. Hopefully it's one of those transfers that just take a while like VvD.

"Ole's United"

Good one my man.

he had taken photos in the liverpool shirt before deal fell through. injury concerns. will not happen.

You fucking putain, a £60m POTY PL winner with leicester is getting fat on the bench along with some other £40-40m mutts. Liverpool just didn't quite have the depth and it cost them wins

fekir, he has a dodgy knee tho

Mahrez is shit.

Messi

>Liverpool were like 10 points clear at one point
[citation needed]
They were 7 points ahead of City at best with the latter having a game in hand and yet to play Liverpool at home, you fucking sperg

former*

End of december, they were 10 points ahead, having played a game more.

final table for next season
1.City
2.United
3.Arsenal
4.Tottenham
5.Liverpool
6.Chelsea
I'm from the future

Your table is missing POWER GAPS.

Liverpool's squad is great aswell as their coach, they were just unlucky this season

they were lucky as fuck.

Not lucky enough to win the title I meant

So lucky innit

Pff, its enthralling really.
United were so abject Easter Sunday and now must go face their own enraged fans.
Their own supporters are like to pelt them with missiles if they don't show some fight against pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday
City have looked shaky of late and Jurgen klopp's side looks to have stomach for the fight
City look like ivan drago: invincible favorite suddenly feeling all too mortal

Dw Man Shitty will slip against Burnley.

City's billions sure saved them again in the CL this year amirite? Buying for need is more important than buying for depth sometimes

Yeah, reckon Burnley are Liverpool's best hope now.

>

aren't they buying Zaha?

Obvious attempt by scouse scum at reverse jinx
>liverpool will obviously win!
>this couldnt possibly slip r-right???

Idiot.
CL doesn't need depth you fat yank cunt, league does.

What happened to Shaqiri? He scored a bunch in the beginning but then disappeared. I think the 4-3 against Palace scared Klopp because he's been more conservative since then

League also needs quality and a varied gameplan against different teams. You don't think they need a plan B and they should just keep running with the >muh workrate midfield for those bus-parking teams? And subsequently drawing as many games as they have this season will win you the league, especially against a team like City?

Also, I'm not sure you realize how much better this team would be with someone actually consistently finding Salah/Mane with precise through-balls on those breakaways. It could easily put games out of reach early, even in the 1st half like BR used to, thus reducing wear-and-tear and potentially injuries, especially with that demanding style Klopp plays on a squad with less depth than City.

Also, muh flag is not an argument.

I love how many retards are calling the third best pl season ever a fuck-up

Those 4 are actually a really strong group. Matip and lovren are far from perfect, but they are more than competent.

Hopefully De Ligt goes to liverpool, it would be amaxing to have 2 of some of the best defenders who also play together nationally

Their dip in form does have all the marks of a slip though. It started right after that close-fought loss against City and ended as soon as they were back in second place where they felt more comfortable and the pressure was off.

>Idiot.
>

>especially given how reliant this team is on pace and counters.
Why use a playmaker when VDD can just hoof it?

>they'll be flying next season.
Just like liverpool will win next season

don't worry, City still have to play United

>1 incident where luck went against Liverpool compared to the dozens of offside goals and refballed penalties in their favour

Burnley away will be the real challenge, did you not see them last night against Chelsea?

Half of Manure's team will unironically do better at Liverpool.

Can >we try signing Fekir again?

>I refuse to give up on Sturridge btw even if I'm the only one.
You're not. Even now he's much better than people give him credit for.

I don't think he gets injured that often.

> t-they will s-slip!!
>a-any day now!! r-right guise???

I'm pretty sure general consensus is that >we already slipped.

There basically safe now though. We needed Chelsea to win last night really but they shat the bed once again. Burnley players will be on the beach for city

Why would anyone stay at a club with zero premier league titles and a manager with a track record of never winning trophies?

Save yourself Mohammed!

I just really hope that Liverpool finish in second place with 96 points so I can post >96 was not enough all day

>clears out the cancer
so he will fire everyone including stars they paid a shitton of money for like poobag?

It's mathematically impossible for them to finish with 96 points.

88 points + 3 wins = 97 points
88 points + 2 wins + 1 draw = 95 points
88 points + 1 wins + 1 draw + 1 lose = 92 points
88 points + 0 wins + 3 draw + 0 lose = 91 points
88 points + 0 wins + 2 draw + 1 lose = 90 points
88 points + 0 wins + 1 draw + 2 lose = 89 points
88 points + 0 wins + 0 draw + 3 lose = 88 points

You need to cash in on Pogba. They'll get £100m+ for him and be able to buy a couple of hard working white guys that don't dab on the 'gram after losses and blame the manager when they can't be arsed..

Why can't Liverpool win they league?

They're the greatest, the special one, England's finest. For England I mean.

Is It because everybody hates them and would rather lose on purpose and get relegated if that contributes to ruining Liverpool's chances at winning it? How much butthurt does Liverpool induce among the other, petite clubs of the league like City, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc..?

>Is It because everybody hates them and would rather lose on purpose and get relegated if that contributes to ruining Liverpool's chances at winning it?

yes

It's been impossible for them to finish with 96 points since the beginning of March

Pretty much.

Yeah we know, but apparently some people still don't understand that.

>WE

B&R

Manchester City can finish with 96 points though.

Yeah, but I don't think they will.

Liverpool don't need to slip, City just need to keep winning and then it doesn't matter.

I hope they do so "justice for the 96" becomes a reminder that Manchester City won the 2019 title.

I don't think Liverpool will drop points either. I fully expect both sides to get maximum points from all their remaining matches.

>Struggled against Cardiff

>play like shit
>still win
The Liverpool way la
