Why is the French league not as popular as the Italian one despite France being wider and French being more widespread?

Muslims already have a league

Because it's shit

Serie A has history

the italian league was the best one for a long time

the italian league was incredibly good until about 15 years ago. still very popular because of it

What went wrong?

Your mum's abortion attempt

Mismanagement.

How very Italian of them.
How very French to seethe.

Just kidding, you know you're my bestie 4ever

catastrophic misuse of money and lack of planning, scandals, a shitty economy (the clubs had been bankrolled by rich dudes for some time), and then the premier league stepping in and getting TV money like crazy

this.

French league is boring. Like italian but french league was never interesting

>we'll never see kino early 2000s Serie A again

The etneral Anglos league overtook it

italy
>juve wins lol
spain
>qatarlona/memedrid wins lol
france
>psg wins lol
germany
>buyern wins lol

england
>6 teams or more can do it

>6 teams
You mean Liverpool and City

>6 teams or more can do it
If Arsenal counts then so do Atletico and Valencia you spastic.

I know you're a /pol/ brainlet, but I'm genuinely curious as to which league you're referring to?

Outside of France the French language is mostly spoken in West/Central Africa. Those aren't exactly lucrative markets for tv and merchandise deals the way North America and Asia are.

We and our colonies (Austria & Switzerland) are rich countries, so the popularity of our league within those 100 million people translate into higher revenues than the French league which is only being watched by their former African colonies which are poor as hell.
Same goes, to a lesser degree, for Spain.

Nobody speaks Italian outside of Italy (only some little meme part of Switzerland and Meme Marino) so they have naturally a smaller market to sell their league to.

England has the advantage that everyone speaks English, so their league is marketable as fuck all around the world.

ah yes who can forget those liverpool, totenham and arsenal epl championships

Didn't Arsenal win a bunch of times in the 2000s?

Attached: rupe.jpg (500x759, 60K)

valencia too, so?

Serie A used to be the best league in the world not that long ago.

>memedrid

haven't they won the league twice in the last decade?

>6 teams can win it
*checks premier league table*
>18 points between the 2nd and 3rd
kek

when milan had shevchenko, it was long ago

The gap is going to get even bigger after Brexit.

classical french self-bashing. Ligue 1 is based af

>6 teams can do it
>Arsenal
>Tottenham
>Liverpool
>do it
lele

Arsenal still have the most impressive EPL title by far, Pablo

What happened there?

Attached: jj.jpg (608x720, 64K)

Never heard of the AlhamduLiga?

Not him but it's the epl and la liga. The comment section of the top teams are full of Muslims

I get both leagues on tv. The games are never enticing when I look at the fixtures. I don't think there is a single fixture in Ligue 1 that interests me. Not even Marseille PSG. It's just a pointless league. Serie A is also pointless but to a lesser extent. At least the have a handful of fixtures that I would sit down and watch every season. But it's nowhere near what it was when both Milan clubs were relevant.

Might cancel my sports package tbqh

Ronaldo finally paid his taxes

x2

Seria A is white men's choice

Bundesliga is too turk/consumer/pajeetish
Ligue 1 and Portugese leagues are dead

we're a selling league, the talented ngubus we have go to foreign leagues so our clubs stay weak and that's not good for foreign bandwagoners and viewership.

stupid analogy, you just need local commentators to comment the games

Did you hear about the league they found dead?
The police thought it was a Serie A killer.

yikes

That was funny the first time, don't let your germanic autism get the best of you user

How can I short on football lads?

lel

new tv deal probably

Messi finally paid his taxes

- Trash league
- French soccer fans are THE normies of European soccer
- Everyone would rather watch Lel Liga or Serie A
- Bandwagoning to the power of ten
>t. lived and studied in France
tl;dr La Ligue 1 n'a aucun "appeal" si on le compare aux ligues des autres pays, et le monopole du P$G n'aide pas une possible renaissance

where did you live?

in terms of title races ligue 1 is no worse than serie a, bundeslia or la liga

Grenoble. It was miserable. Even more miserable since I was basically stuck between comfy Chambery/Savoy and Lyon. Through-out the entire school (which was College and Lycèe), there was ONE GUY who actually gave a fuck about Grenoble and their climb back to Ligue 2. There are more guys who give a fuck about my town's team in uni, and we're FIFTEEN STUDENTS.
My dad also told me of when Grenoble was in Ligue 1 and either PSG or Lyon fans came and basically burned every car, broke every window and turned the city into a war zone.

>Grenoble was in Ligue 1 and either PSG or Lyon fans came and basically burned every car, broke every window and turned the city into a war zone

was probably an improvement desu. grenoble is a ghetto in the alps, first week there, 3 rapes and two murders all down the road from me. it really is a complete shithole

Left right after my BAC, and one month later two shoot-outs in the same day. Grenoble South is literally South LA, except it somehow makes LA look cool and interesting.

Attached: t.png (720x644, 67K)

Normies?

taxes

Imagine a soccer fan if he was the Yea Forums definition of a normie. That's the French soccer fan.

>Grenoble
poor lad, one of the ugliest city in france

>soccer
>call other peoples normies

poopoopeedoo

>He says, on an ENGLISH imageboard
You don't want Yanks to come down and start shitposting how football/calcio isn't REAL FOOTBALL and whatever, trust me. Just call it soccer the moment it's 8 AM on the East Coast.
I don't know what's worst, the fact that other Frenchies confirm my thoughts about it or the fact that Grenoblois are proud of that grey toilet.

people underestimate the extent to which the 2009 financial crisis hit us
literally all the italian millionaires who pumped their cash into football clubs lost the financial ability to compete with foreign clubs

plus it wasn't marketed abroad as effectively as the PL because nobody speaks italian

Just looked up Grenoble and it looks alright. Rather scenic actually. Can't imagine it being worse than Boise Idaho, certainly not L.A.

It's literally only the last point that impacts Serie A's expansion. Lel Liga and the EPLel have massive markets because they speak two of the most widespread languages in the world.
>Inb4 "Isn't French widespread as well?"
Africa isn't really a profitable market.
>BOISE
My parents actually lived there a couple of months in... '98, I think? They tell me to trust their word when they say Boise was still better than Grenoble.

I'm saying it doesn't seem that dangerous. Boise is boring as fuck but also safe as fuck

China is our only hope, they don't speak english there either so we have just about the same chance as anybody to attract a major fanbase and consequently investors there
Inter is on the best possible path, i hope the rest (except Juve who obviously doesn't have that issue being owned by FCA) follow suit

Google Search hides the truth if you ask me. Grenoble Sud makes stereotypes about Naples seem tame. Grenoble Sud during Real N-Word Hours is honest to God the scariest place in Southern Europe.

>China is our best hope
I'd seriously settle with becoming another Greek Superleague at that point fra'. Arab oil sheikhs and Chinese slavers as investors? Cazzo no.

Just admit your language is spoken in shitholes. Only Quebec is the non-shithole former colony.

because italian owners are ethical saints? come on man, we've had Berlusconi in the league for decades

Hey, I'm an UDU man, and even I would rather have Capitan Bunga than fucking cultureless, traditionless cunts who want to turn soccer into plastic that they throw away when bored. The Car Graveyards in Dubai and the UAE are a sufficient source of salt for me, thank you very much. Suning is the one who's been pushing for San Siro to be demolished, for fuck's sakes, to have it replaced by a goddamn Banca San Paolo Arena or something.

France doesn't have a lot of big metropolitan areas

props for this stance. keeping soccer anti-plastic should be everyone's objective.

because capitalism is bad

it's a price you have to pay, and the British have paid it
the spanish too (Atleti is pure oil money while Barça and Real are basically government funded) but at least the fans there have kept the spirit alive
we can do the same, but the reactions from the fans to the San Siro news worries me: they seem to be pretty much on board with letting a chinese tycoon and a fucking hedge fund (doesn't get much crooked than that) destroy their symbol

If they are on board, they're normies and/or have never been to San Siro: everyone I've spoken to, Inter/Milan fan or not, is completely against it and believes it to be the singlehandedly most retarded thing done in Northern Italy in a while.

oh i wish, i'm talking about regular stadium goers
normies of course, if i say the majority of a group has an opinion it means it's 90% normies

hopefully they don't go through with it, it would be a travesty

Honestly how is Bundes so popular? It exists solely for players to play well enough to get bought by Bayern. Is it just german autism?

This.

t. MLS fag here, I should know what shit looks like

>Hopefully they won't go through with it, it would be a travesty
They will, because most people's thoughts right now are
>OLD STUFF BAD, GOOD STUFF NEW
I had to show a lot of self restraint to not just grab a cric and murder a guy for saying I should send my car to the scrapyard because it's from 1997. I had everyone tell me my tastes in music sucks because I listen to stuff produced largely before 2001. And I got called a fascist because I'm against those fucking electric cars (the irony there).
>Why doesn't it happen in Southern Italy?
Because everyone associates Southern Italy and old stuff with the same thing, poverty, when in reality old stuff actually requires you to be reach in order to be properly fucking maintained.

As someone who studied in France for a year I have a good idea why.

French don't really have much connection to their local football teams. French clubs don't have that kind of hard core fan base that you find in almost every other European country. Including smaller one like Austria, Netherlands etc.

Now you are probably asking why.

That's where it gets tricky, because the answer is not really something you will hear anywhere. But if you speak with French football fans chances are high they will name a non-french club as their most favourite one. The reason is the high amount of blacks in their teams. Good every European football club has blacks, but in France they are literally the majority in almost every club.
Just look at the National Team of France. That fact makes it hard for many football fans to emphasize with French Clubs, because they aren't really French anymore.

>This is your brain on /pol/
They literally don't give a fuck because the quality is abysmal and they suck at every European cup. Marseille and Lyon are the only cities with anything resembling an hardcore fanbase, and they're constantly at war with each other. If you ask a French man his favourite team, it's going to be a Spanish or English one, and when asked why, the reason will be "because they're winners" (or God forbing "because I like their crest")

it's totally irrelevant to the viewership of a league abroad

lol ridiculous

"because they're winners"

Well, they aren't going to tell you because they aren't black.

I didn't intend to be racist, I just stated what I witnessed studying in Paris and Lyon.

I am an immigrant myself.

>Well, they aren't going to tell you because they aren't black.
Trust me, they will. And one thing is a year in Paris and Lyon. The other is seven years in a smaller town. Most French fans are bandwagoners.

Please watch our league

Attached: eredivisielogo.jpg (368x228, 22K)

Germany is the largest economy of countries where football is the #1 sport so it has $$$

Does 3rd place win? There is 4 points between 1 and 2 and 2 has a game to play

I wonder where the MLS clubs would finish in Ligue 1? I reckon there's quite a few who could avoid relegation.

Saint-Étienne easily has the most hardcore fans in France though.

>le /pol/ boogeyman

OH NO NO NO

Attached: Ligue 1 results domestic, uefa.png (957x370, 38K)

most of you dont even realise it's mostly a financial problem our clubs cant afford to keep their best players or attract top players because the taxes are too high
only psg can do that thanks to oil money rest of the teams are screwed and can only rely on their youth

Zlatan would carry LA Galaxy to atleast a top 4 finish. If he could be bothered

But most would be mid table at best, most would be trying to claw out though

A better question might be, why doesn't Eredivisie have higher TV and sponsor income? I mean the interest is there if you look at attendance, but the income stays way behind other leagues with comparable attendance figures.

Attached: 20190421_123700.jpg (1080x1400, 598K)

Tell me more about the eredivisie. If it has a really big derby that effects the entire country like Scotland has then you could get Sky to broadcast it

>its le niggers XD

Domestic interest is not a good indicator or foreign interest.

Interesting, thanks. Also: Each of the Big 5 leagues had won the Champions League by 1972 except for France (Marseille 1993). They simply don't have the successes that creates a fanbase.

Why not?

Attached: 02f.jpg (655x527, 36K)

>Why is the AMerican league not as popular as the Italian one despite America being wider and American being more widespread?

>wanting to be known for having one average derby

>source: my arse

it should be nice but isnt, its full of students and high density ghettos but nothing cheap or communal because the city want to project this image of a high class ski resort (which it is not). so people have nothing to do except kill each other. its also heavily polluted. just the worst place you can imagine.

>players don't want to pay shitloads of taxes in clubs which pay shitloads of taxes too, trying to sell their frauds several tens of million to clueless but rich as fuck EPL teams
Who would have guess?

you can see the trend, serie A is coasting

>We and our colonies (Austria & Switzerland) are rich countries.
Oh just shut up Hans. You're poor as fuck and that's why your most prosperous regions are always looking for a way out.

>Quebec
>non-shithole

Quebec is just as bad as those other areas but they can leech money off of super Anglo-Canadians

Wish we had the fan power that they do in Germany, great league for the supporters.

Also,
>Greece being worse than our fourth tier

Globalization, the yolk of EU destroyed the Italian sugar daddies that financed Serie A and britbongs found money by pandering to subhumans

>>
>Zlatan would carry LA Galaxy to atleast a top 4 finish. If he could be bothered
Travis, please.
There isn't a single team in MLS that would survive relegation in Ligue 1.
MLS would be relegation candidates even in our league, and as of 2019 we suck ass and balls.

have you ever watched Ligue 1? Most of those teams wouldn't survive relegation in England or Spain. It's literally 20 niggers chasing the ball around endlessly.

Because French people smell like garlic and dick cheese

Would non-Yugos watch a Yugo league for the ethnic tension and war history? Yea Forums seems to love seeing the national teams play against each other, would you guys watch matches between the "Big 4" (Zvezda, Dinamo, Hajduk, Partizan)???

Attached: yugo league.png (800x600, 90K)

Germany hosted a world cup this century, so their stadiums were either built or renovated in 2006. This is why that number is so high.

Hajduk is a kid table club in croatia, in no shape or form would it be part of big 4 in yugo league

*mid table club

Poljud would be at capacity for every game in yugo league. They are still top 4 in popularity in ex-yu. Maribor players and supporters would shit themselves.
