Messi’s been having a strong season and has already outperformed everyone who finished higher than him in the Balon dor List last year
Modric >halal eliminated to ajax >in 3rd place to messi’s barcelona >eliminated by barcelona in copa del rey >zidane had to come back for them to stand a chance >not too many notable moments since the WC
Ronaldo >Juve out of coppa italia for first time in years >Juve out in QF to ajax as well, despite making finals twice within last 5 years >quagliarella, piatek, and zapata having more Serie A goals than him Griezmann >atletico chokes liga to Messi’s FC barcelona >not a single shot on target against jewve in their incredible choke >concedes 3 to girona and chokes away copa del rey >considering leaving atleti after losing to barcelona 2-0 Mbappe >In league with french shitters >having issues closing out the. League, and choked 5-1 against lille, the only halfway decent team >That game against United’s youth at home >lost in league cup to Guingamp
Meanwhile with messi >33 goals in 29 league appearances >10 goals in 7 UCL appearances >45 goals in 42 overall appearances >4 goals in 4 games against the EPL top six >his second season in a row tying for most free kicks in a la liga season >top of the golden boot race >highest ranked player by whoscored metric >tied for second in most assists >top 5 in dribbles >scoring 40+% of the team’s goals >doesnt have Xavi or Iniesta anymore, nor does he need them >Team is on top of la liga >reached copa del rey final >Reached UCL semi final >with a choking brainlet as manager
Also fuck salah, messi has more goals against the epl top 6 with less games.
If Barcelona gets eliminated by Liverpool and Liverpool wins their league I can one of their players winning it.
Brody Ortiz
They are not presenting award to a rapist, are they?
Robert King
It's gonna be Messi, or Sala, or Son
Muslim winner or Asian winner would be huge stories too Champions League will decide everything
Carter Harris
Why the fuck are people saying salah?
Grayson Nguyen
messi is WAY ahead of everyone else. it's already his
Nicholas Mitchell
Mane
Ian Thomas
this
Connor Hughes
Milner
Julian Jenkins
only way for him to not win it would be if liverpool won the league and ucl, then mo would get it
Julian Kelly
PL > La Liga CL > no CL
Salah > messi
Parker Gray
false not always true (for example, la liga + copa del rey > cl) false
Luke Barnes
If liverpool win the double, mane, and vvd will cannibalize his votes and messi will still win, salah would have to carry egypt to copa africa or whatever its called
Gabriel Wilson
Nothing. But if Liverpool wins they will probably give it to Salah
Leo King
De Jong, Salah, Van Djik and Son can still get it.
Joshua Flores
SAlah after winning prem CL & AFCON
Chase Walker
40% of barcas goals you say? so what would happen if someone were to say.. push him down 4 flights of stairs?
Kevin Diaz
Holy fucking shit you're deluded
Lincoln Walker
The sharps say Carlos Vela is a solid sleeper pick
>Modric Not even Marca is including him in the list lmoa. So much for The Pest. Another Fraud d'Or who only won due to going to Halal, like Cannavaro and Kaká (who at least performed four matches in CL despite being injured all season)
Jacob Stewart
Manlet magic. His very sturdy base and balance make this impossible
Sebastian Turner
They already made their bed. If they give him it this year, theyll be admitting theyve got it wrong for the last 4 or 5 years.
Oliver James
Virgil
Blake Bailey
>la liga + copa del rey > cl
Nolan Johnson
He's not wrong, one is an example of consistency and dominance and the other is full of variables, luck, momentum at the right time etc not as bad as the world cup at least
Aiden Brooks
mane is the best player in the world right now
Landon Jones
He is wrong. If La Liga + Copa meant more than the CL then why didn't Messi win it over Modric?
Carter Jenkins
Casuals love what they love and you give the fans what they want. You can't tell me Messi wasn't miles ahead of Modric if you actually watch the sport consistently
Asher Brown
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? We're talking about the requirements for winning the Balon d'Or
Jacob Johnson
It’s either VVD or Ronaldo, it all comes down to the UNL final
Chase Butler
>if you actually watch the sport consistently as in: won a golden shoe and statpadded against Eibar
Jackson White
La Liga have a bigger uefa coefficient than England and have won the cl, el and super cup for the last 5 years
Kayden Green
>Twain became a scouser just to spite Messi and Yea Forums for laughing at him KEK
Why are people saying Salah? Mane is objectively performing better than him this year. In both the EPL and UCL. If the vote were to go to someone from Liverpool, Salah would be 3rd behind VVD and Mane.
Carter Thomas
Salah is from the biggest middle eastern proponent in the sport and has the story from last year to help him.
Anyway Messi won't win it. It's the same as last year, he will either choke in CL or in Copa America and that will be enough to erase his efforts.
William Young
You need to stop using Modric as an example. The world cup carries huge weight with the voting, so last year needs to be ignored. Look to 2017 if you want a closer example of what the voting will be like for this year.
Dylan Evans

If we win the Nation's league, I'd unironically say de Ligt
Ryder Williams
>people think the Nations League will factor into voting
Its the Carling Cup of international football, absolutely nobody gives a shit
Asher Morris
This. Far below Euros and World Cup
Robert Wood
Didn't read lol
Josiah Miller
Always shocked when people rate salah
Lincoln Cook
What if Tottenham wins the Champions League, who gets it then?
Zachary Powell
It's still worth more than a copa memerica, that thing is now played every year just to give poor messy a chance
Jordan James
preemptive cope
Kayden Richardson
Argentina aint winning shit
Anthony Wilson
The good thing is that when we do, there's at least 100 Romanian/NZ posts talking about Copa America as a big trophy :)
Ayden Young
Argentina would get stomped by Brazil; and Chile/Uruguay are on equal footing
