Stop sperging out in public

Cringe

Stop spamming you autist

What is the point of these charts? The NFCW is supposedly the worst division but they've also sent every team to the owl at least once since 2008. When was the last time the Dolphins, Bill's or Jets made an owl, much less won a playoff game. Regular season records are irrelevant if you dont make the post season

Being the least competitive doesn't mean worst.

It's patriotfags cope to explain that they don't have an easy path to the post season ever year. When everyone fucking knows their entire division is a dumpster fire.

the NFCW is 1-5 in owls since divisional realignment.

AFCE: 6-3
AFCN: 4-1
AFCS: 1-1
AFCW: 1-2

NFCE: 3-1
NFCN: 1-1
NFCS: 2-3

So the division that is most competitive is also the division with the least amount of parity in the playoffs and the least competitive division is also the division with the most parity in the playoffs.

*1-4 SB40 was rigged

>tfw based 10-6 record or better is easily possible next season

Attached: 1407772149822.jpg (534x629, 65K)

1-4 would still be the worst record of any division in the SB since realignment. Even if you gave them the Steelers owl, they would still be tied for last at 2-4.

I'm aware of that but that wasn't the point I was making. All 9 of those AFCE appearances were the Pats; at least the NFCW has sent every team at least once in that same time frame. Hell they're probably the only division that has had every team in their division make the playoffs since 2002

Meant to say make the owl

Bless your heart

I like how people forget Bill Leavy, the head ref in SBXL, said years later that he cost Seattle that game.

>Hell they're probably the only division that has had every team in their division make the playoffs since 2002
Every single team in the NFL has made the playoffs since 2002. The Browns are the team with the current longest drought, having not made it since the 2002 playoffs.
>Meant to say make the owl
Every single NFCS team has made the owl since 2002.

>It's fucking epic
I bet rebbit has it

Alright I'm about to post my updated top 150 Because this thread sucks. Just a few notes before I do about my 3 big risers

Zach Allen from BC is a beast. He needs to add a couple more pass rush moves to his arsenal to get that 10+ sack production at the next level but I think right now he already compares well with former 49ers 5 tech Justin Smith. Also was coached by JJ Watts former D line coach and as 35 inch arms which is why he not only has crazy tackle production but a ton of batted passes the last two years at college

Joejuan Williams is another big riser. He's even better on tape than these draft guys have him credit for. Not just a long press CB but he has great instincts and ball skills. Essentially won the Ole Miss game with a red zone pick and back to back pass deflections to close out the game. Couldn't care less about his 40 time this guy is an easy first round pick in any defence

Juan Thornhill I can't say enough good things about. I only has him in the 30s in my original top 150 Because he only had one season starting at Safety after converting from playing CB in 2016 and 2017. Dude has everything he's an absolute ballhawk, excellent communicator, takes great angles to the ball and is physical when playing down in the box or at the LOS in 4th and short/goal situations. People worry too much about his missed tackles need to see beyond the PFF numbers. Dude is constantly flying to the ball which is gonna result in the occasional miss like every Safety prospect in this class. Fun fact for him as well he played Daniel Jones 3 times in the last 3 years and intercepted him 4 times in total and at least once in every game

i’d like you to stop posting

Dak is way too high

>48. Hjalte Froholdt, G, Arkansas
Agressive. I like the guy a lot, but damn.

Thank you for making a list so bad that it will generate a lot of posts, since things are so slow in the off-season.

Yea man I love his game. Don't know why he and Micah St Andrew aren't getting talked about at top tier Guards in this class. Both of them are big strong dudes who have great technique

>19. Trace McSorley, QB, Penn State
Wat

Who should be above him?

Which one of your favorite QBs did I put 1 spot too low?

17 through 22 minus Dalton and Jimmy G
Carr
Mariota
Tyrod
Maybe even McCown (I don't know why you have him at 32)

>there are people itt who will defend this somehow

Attached: lanig 4th quarter.jpg (1934x1069, 1007K)

>they didn't take the mulattopill
baka desu senpai

Yup. I've had him as my top QB for a long time I love his game. People point at his numbers this year as why he's "inaccurate" without actually watching his tape. Hi receivers dropped 19 balls the first 5 games of the season alone and then he injured his knee against Iowa in game 7 I think it was and was playing hurt the 2nd half of the year. He reminds me a lot of Marcus Mariota not in college but as a pro. Very streaky but steps up in big games and can string together long drives to wear out opponents and keep his team in games

I don't think he goes in the 1st round but whoever drafts him getting a franchise QB I truly believe that

Foles too

New York Giants select Brian Burns #6 iverall
I wasn't going to miss out on Brian Burns, get a QB at 17 instead. Burns is the perfect fit in this defense. Risner at 37 & Savion Smith at 108 are also key moves. Lots of needs covered here.

Attached: D4b8T86W4AEizli.jpg (1006x906, 140K)

Carr is arguable and so is Mariota if he could stay healthy but on what basis is Tyrod and McCown better than Dak

>1. Tom Brady
People just don't understand the pure athleticism and constant drive that possesses a man to throw 3 yard checkdowns until a giant TE gets a mismatch and you hit him in stride with a 7 yard bomb that he takes the remaining 54 yards.

Baltipoor playoff football, right there

Not many tbqh

I will say Joe Flacco who people laud as one the best playoff QBs of the last 10 years was pretty garbage in his first 5 playoff games. They're a different beast from the regular season and sometimes it takes guy a few post season games before they get used to them (see also Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning etc)

Why doesnt every QB do it?

Cuz not every QB plays for the patriots

>tom brady

Attached: 1555526189440.jpg (480x712, 33K)

>Why doesn't every team draft the greatest TE of all time complete with juggernaut offensive lines

Sometimes, Brady only has 4 to 5 seconds to find an open man before the rush gets to him.

Why doesn't every team do that then? It's just 3 yard checkdowns whats the complication.

Pats won 4 Super Bowls without Gronk including coming back from a 25 point deficit.

Fastest release in the NFL all you need to do is give him 2 seconds

Yeah, he's included in "17 through 22"

How did he finish that game charlatan? You cherry pick his stats because I shit all over your gay ass reddit tier bears last summer. Obsessed bongoloid.

NFL insider believes the Patriots are the most likely team to trade up in the draft
>There’s a thought around the league that the Rob Gronkowski retirement leaves the Patriots hungry for offensive playmakers. This first round is strong at tight end, and New England has 12 total picks — tied with the Giants for most in this draft. That enables the Pats to move up if there’s a tight end within range of where they sit at No. 32.

imagine supporting a black qb

Can’t wait to see the Packers defense with the new additions!!! Should be fun too watch

What I like about the pats is that every single year they're essentially a rag tag group cast-offs and old vets who everyone is against. Time and time again a brand new thing comes around and everybody gets a boner about it and say the Patriots are finished, but time and time again like out of a fucking movie some absolutely crazy shit that should only happen once in a lifetime happens multiple times leading them to win it all against the odds. Tom Brady is 41 years old and has a fuckin noodle arm, gronk is an actual monkey, Edelman is a white manlet who gashes the middle with no fear, they've got twin fucking brothers on defense, they give top money to special teamers, their coach waddles along the sideline kicking balls away from ball boys and screaming incoherently at refs, you couldn't write this. I used to hate the pats, but I've finally just sat back and I'm enjoying the show now

If you need TE help now the draft seems like a pretty shit place to get it.

just have a WR wear the kind of shoes Robert Downey Jr. or Putin wear to add 3 inches

This draft is loaded with good TEs

Belichick has learned that the true key to lasting success is good coaching. Player talent is important, but development, schemes, and team culture will get you better results over time instead of being a flash-in-the-pan team that has one or two good years then falls to shit.

No one will ever top the 2000 Ravens my friend. What makes you think the cowshits will even be top 5 in 2019? Their corners suck, Lee is a zombie, and Gregory is finished.

One thing is certain: the Cowboys win this game if Sean Lee wasn't a decaying husk

I find it so funny that the rest of the league struggle to develop linebackers, yet every year the Ravens have an undrafted free agent make the all pro team. God your teams suck

Has anyone mentioned the Cincinnati Bengals in any capacity this week? They have the worst defense in the NFL. How is that supposed to get fixed?

Go back to rebbit

Hockenson is easily the best TE in this class but the Pats have no chance at getting him even if they trade up. Jace Sternberger is a guy I could see them taking at 32

The arrival of Earl Thomas gives the Ravens their best ballhawk since soon-to-be Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed left after the 2012 Super Bowl season. It's also a big step toward rebuilding last season's NFL's top-ranked defense, which lost five key members in free agency.

rude and uncalled for.

On the day the Ravens defense takes a hit, they learn that they must face one of the NFL’s top receiver twice a year
Baker Mayfield now has OBJ and Jarvis Landry at WR. That’s probably now the best WR tandem in NFL. Plus Nick Chubb in backfield. And a solid defense

The AFC North is going through changes

- Ravens lost five starters on defense
- Steelers lose both Le’Veon and AB
- Bengals haven’t made any significant additions
- Browns have assembled a dream team

It’s almost time.

it's not showing up anywhere

Attached: AD.png (800x1014, 365K)

Isn't it amazing how people shit on the Patriots for their "checkdown" play style but fail to plan defensively for it and can't mimic it offensively? It's almost as if there's more going on. Not that anyone here will admit. Contrarian fags.

>the only constant is the bengals doing nothing

i specifically shit on Brady, who is overrated, not on Belichik, who is responsible for the Patriots being consistently good

Skip Bayless today:
>"The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be the shock team of the year. ... and I think they're going to go to New England and upset the Patriots....I have an early strong feeling about the Steelers going 13-3, and they'll just run off with this division. ... Ben Roethlisberger is my early candidate for MVP."

I mean the lowly steelers did BTFO the Patrishits last year, but Roethlisberger has never in his entire career been all pro, let alone an MVP candidate. Yikes.

Beating the patriots in September is not a surprise. They're shit for the first 5 weeks every year.

All this drama has Tomlin on the hot seat, and he knows if there isn't results this season the anti-tomlin crowd in Pittsburgh is going to get a lot more support. They also always have something to prove with the Pats, and that being week 1 is just a preparatory smack in the face.

Attached: APOLOGIZE.jpg (750x820, 126K)

Tomlin has been on the hot seat since 2012 and you idiots keep Kevin Colbert emoloyeed for some dumb reason too. Enjoy being eternally 8-8 idiot.

tits will blow out the browns in week 1 and there is nothing you can do about it

They probably will because its an undisputed fact that black heisman winners are far superior to white heisman winners

nah and Colbert is an objectively top 5 GM. I mean fuck, in 2017 we drafted Watt, JuJu, and James Conner. That's a haul.

Thats how we have the military and the NFL

Hey Pats bros how does this mock draft look, what I focused on was needs and for defense versatility was key.

1:32 - DL Christian Wilkins, Clemson
2:24 - WR A.J. Brown, Mississippi
2:32 - TE Irv Smith Jr., Alabama
3:9 - WR Hakeem Butler, Iowa St.
3:33 - EDGE D'Andre Walker, Georgia
3:37 - SS Chase Hansen, Utah
4:32 - OT Max Scharping, Northern Illinois
6:32 - FS Sheldrick Redwine, Miami (FL)
7:25 - LB Gary Johnson, Texas
7:29 - WR Tyre Brady, Marshall
7:32 - QB Trace McSorley, Penn St.
7:38 - OT Tommy Kraemer, Notre Dame

Someone else really good would have to drop like crazy for the sixers to not take Wilkins at 25. And I doubt Smith or Butler will be available that late. Sharping and Redwine are nice picks though, I like those guys.

10-6 is the floor m8

Every mock draft on several sites have had some high picks drop really low to be available for me. I’ve had Hockensen and Murray repeatedly with Bush/White being the third most, it’s crazy. But Max and Sheldrick are such good steals, but athletic and smart with just not the results during their college career for whatever reason

>The Cards being a 5 win team

it's a Zoomer's world and we're just living in it

Daniel Jones is a 3 year starter who never had 7 YPA in any season, never threw for more than 3,000 in any season and never won more than 7 games in any season

Imagine unironcially thinking he's a first round pick

None of the QBs in this draft are worth a 1st desu senpai

How does the factory of sadness implode this season?

people like dominant defenses. LOB were popular.

I don't agree but it just hurts my brain trying to see what people like about Daniel Jones in particular. I get he has the size and may be smart on the board but holy shit his good games are few and far between

Guys like Daniel Jeremiah are comparing him to Ryan Tannehill like it's a good thing

I would take Drew Lock with a late first

>you now remember Ryan Tannehill going in the top 10

Slight reach but I agree he's probably the best of the bunch

With Harbaugh it makes sense since he's supposed to be an offense guy.

I thought Harbaugh was always a special teams coach?

There are outliers but they're even more uncommon than the offensive juggernauts, people would probably be butthurt about how boring it is if offensive records weren't being broken every year.

The quarterback position is too overvalued. I'll risk reaching in the draft to avoid overpaying in FA.

total vikings delusion

It’s not just “muh bend”, burns has pass rushing moves and hand technique that mingo wishes he had. Burns’ problem is his weight. However, I do agree that ferrell is being overlooked a bit.

Have YOU ever actually had sex? It's terrible, they want to stick around afterwards and cuddle and the bed is too hot and also sweaty and the combined body heat is too much and the bed gets overheated and they sort of think they're you're friend now but they're not your friend. The second after you cum I'm just disgusted by them anyways but they don't want to be alone because they're needy or some other stupid made up feeling so I have to take them out for some breakfast and buy them a fucking omelet that we both know she's not going to finish and then when its over you have to get her number and promise you'll call her but we both know you're not going to call her. Why would you? You already got what you wanted out of her and the sex was mediocre at best and you wasted one of the two days a week you have free of being a wagecuck, you took your valuable free time and you fucking wasted it on some average broad when you could have paid for a hooker and had her get up and leave so I could go back to playing video games.

The only reason to have sex, and I mean LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON, is that fucking without a condom on feels pretty great. Nothing else about sex is even remotely enjoyable, not the stupid foreplay, not the cuddling, I don't even particularly enjoy getting my dick sucked anymore. I'd rather eat a burrito and watch American Dad and be left the fuck alone. No, I'm not going to marry you. No, you're not going to trick me into getting you pregnant(I've had a few women really try hard with that one), and no, you're not coming to live with me in my big empty house.

For one thing, it's my fucking house. For another thing, I like it big and empty, and lastly you're a fucking bore. Women are for the most part IMMENSELY boring. No, I'm not interested in hearing about your stupid day. No, I don't care what Sarah the intern said about your hair. No, I don't FUCKING CARE ABOUT HOW YOU'RE FEELING TODAY

NOT. FUCKING. WORTH. IT

QBs are a huge financial investment, and good ones are very hard to come by. You can salvage a season with HB or WR or CB, you can't salvage a season with hurt QB. I would tell my QB to the get hell out of dodge if there is a fumble and not jump into a dogpile with 5 guys weighing 5x as much as you do.

Jeff Fisher has always been based. Dude is universally loved in Nashville. Used to pick up strangers' tabs at Eddie George's old restaurant.

Fisher is based. Also, I saw him at a hotel a few months ago and he looks a lot thinner than he was when he was coaching

>he looks a lot thinner than he was when he was coaching
He no longer sucks out the souls of his QBs.

its the super bowl though, its the only time where winning is worth the risk of destroying your body

people would view Cam's career in a whole different light if he had a ring

I dont know how accurate this chart is but even Kiper, who is very high on him, says "Now, you'd like to see him be more accurate -- he completed just 59.9 percent of his passes in his career -- but he improved every year under Duke coach David Cutcliffe. Just turn on the film"

I wouldn't take him in the 1st or 2nd but the reason some people are so high on him is because he reminds them of Tom Brady. A meh QB prospect out of college who had the intangibles to blossom into a star in the right system...Brady got where he was by being smart and relentlessly hardworking with great coaching (hqrdworking polishing his technique/mechanics, hardworking in the film room and hardworking with staying in shape phyically and mentally )

The Patriots were at Jones’s Pro Day and had him in for a Pre-Draft visit April 10.

>Boston Globe: “the Duke standout bears a strong resemblance to Tom Brady. Aside from the physical similarities — at 6 feet 5 inches, 220 pounds, Jones is just a shade taller than Tom Brady — coaches and scouts use a lot of similar buzzwords and phrases when talking about the two. Smart . . . prepared . . . good pocket presence . . . quick release . . . tight delivery . . . flawless mechanics.” Those are some of the ways in which observers describe both players"

>CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora: "The Duke QB is a polarizing prospect who hasn't exactly wowed everyone he's been around. But he has good size and a David Cutcliffe pedigree and I continue to hear the Patriots have taken a shine to him".

Meanwhile you have an ex-GM saying he wouldn't touch Murray simply because he doesn't show any of the intangibles needed to succeed in the NFL as a franchise QB

Attached: D4Nel0UXoAEu2B6.png (752x615, 31K)

Jones also had the worst teammates of all the QBs

Hmmm....

Attached: Screenshot_20190419-084403~2.png (1080x693, 99K)

Oh shit, I didn't realize it was that game. yea, thats pretty fucking stupid of him to do. looks like he originally wants to go for it, then remembers coaches words and jumps back from it

Jones is just a poor bet

the vast majority of the time when a qb has shit production its because they suck.

People way overthink qbs, efficiency is by far the most predictive factor of nfl success

Attached: madden16.gif (400x286, 1.76M)

Eli was very good in the second half of the season. The Giants lost because their defense was rancid shit and full of guys who were either overpaid scrubs (Vernon) or not even trying (Jenkins, Riley). Do people not watch the games anymore?

This

Attached: madden08.gif (400x286, 2.82M)

Attached: madden12.gif (400x286, 3.04M)

People seriously treat Gettleman like he fucked their mother because he traded Odell away.

The Giants had one winning season with Odell on the team and Odell hasn't finished the past two seasons. Plus the fact that he undermined his coaches and team captains.

Odell wasn't the reason they were losing

Stafford has no playoff wins either.
>tfw the loins only have 1 playoff win in your life but you were still watching thomas the tank engine when it happened

He wasn't helping the team win either.

This.
Also I find it funny that the same sports media that has, for years, been harping and bitching about OBJ being a diva/making the Giants look bad/being a distraction suddenly do a 180 and bash the Giants for trading him.

hes been by far the most productive player on offense since he was drafted

WR's can't single handily carry a team to the playoffs like a QB can but their offense would be even fucking worse without him.

The media has had it out for Eli Manning since the day he was drafted. He has been attacked by the media more than any other quarterback in the league.

Just compare Eli to Aaron Rodgers. The Packers aren't winning all of a sudden and instead of screaming that Rodgers needs to be replaced and forgotten about the media bleats "HE JUST NEEDS MORE HELP GIVE HIM MORE MORE HELP PLEASE MORE HELP!!!!!!"

True. Eli isn't the most consistent QB in the league, but there was a stretch of years where he was - imho - a top 5-10 QB most of the time (2008-2015... save his int.-riddled 2013 season). Giants wasted a good deal of his prime.

Plus Eli at least gives off the vibe of being a nice guy (no idea what he's like irl). Rodgers comes across as a self-centered asshole.

imo they did good to squeeze two rings out of him given his inconsistencies like you said

You can't ignore the intangibles when evaluating a prospect

compare Tom Brady's career passer rating in college (using the NFL method) to the only QB taken in the 1stR the year Brady was drafted:
108.2 - Chad Pennington
89.4 - Tom Brady

Here is the 49ers looking back in hindsight on why they didn't take Brady:
>“We had Tom here for a private workout and let him leave here without knowing anything more about him,” said Mariucci. “That’s the part that really upsets me. We had him here and didn’t do our homework.
“He probably threw the ball eight or nine times, ran the 40 and that was it. It was very quick and not very thorough. I remember going back to look at our notes from the workout and there was nothing substantial on Tom. That would have been the time, if it’s possible, to find out what makes him tick.”

I haven't studied film on the Duke QB and I'm no QB guru anyway when it comes to coaching up QBs, but if the people who are look at the film on the Duke QB and see a guy who takes to good coaching fast and is improving rapidly under good coaching, then you might be looking at a guy who has a tragectory that is going up rapidly in comparison to a great college QB who has already hit his peak

Browsn.

Why have the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins been ass for so long? It seems impossible for three teams in one division to never improve after such a long period of time.

Attached: 1A0A071E-5A20-465B-AF5E-CC403F9AF8A1.jpg (400x242, 31K)

Aaron Rodgers is objectively a better QB than Eli

alex smith will come back this season, games will be managed, there will be effective first downs after first downs, offensive drives will take 11 minutes off of the clock, 5 yard checkdowns will be in effect, elite handoffs, and sweet victories

Aaron Rodgers is objectively a gayer QB than Eli

At bamboozling teams out of big money to miss the playoffs, he is. Otherwise the faggot fraud isn't

3 teams not in that graphic
Imagin being a lions, browns or bills fan

The league seriously needs to step in and break up the pats.

Brain drain.

FAs don't want to go to the Jets, Dolphins, or Bills because they don't want to lose to the Patriots every year.

In terms of regular season wins, even just from the bottom 3 teams, AFC East is still the strongest. The Jests, Dolphins, and Bills have gone through so many coaches, coordinators, and QBs over the last 2 decades they have had zero stablity or unified vision of how the team should be built. A guy comes in and is told "beat the Pats/Win the div." he is given the broken parts of the last 3 times someone was given this task and tries to fix the team. after a year or two of not winning the division he is thrown out and the next guy takes over

No they aren't lmao

Speaking of Pennington, like we've already told this guy below here already, the AFC East has been so shit during the Brady Era that Pennington ended up being Brady's biggest competition lol

Ha i didn't even know that draft analyst Mike Mayock was given a job as a GM. That's crazy lol. This will be his first draft as a GM and he has 3 picks in the 1st Round. The Raiders are just the fourth team in the past 30 years -- the first since the 2001 Rams -- to enter draft day with three first-rounders.

>"Don't mess it up, dude," Gruden told Mayock. "I took a lot of slings to get you three first-round picks."
>Indeed, Gruden is still taking flak for last fall's trades of All-Pro edge rusher Khalil Mack and Pro Bowl receiver Amari Cooper that netted Oakland first-round picks from the Chicago Bears (No. 24 overall) and Dallas Cowboys (No. 27) to go with their own pick at No. 4.

Mess it up? Mayock is embracing the challenge.
"You always have to go back to trusting who you are as an evaluator," said Mayock
"I'm a son of a coach and I know how coaches think, and coaches think need," Mayock said. "And we're a coach-driven building; our coaches are highly involved. That's good. I embrace that. The flip side is, you can't reach. You've got to use some common sense. And that's what I preach."
"The way I look at this thing from a how-do-people-perceive-me perspective is a lot of people doubted that anybody could come out of the media and go and be a GM for any team," Mayock said. "I know that. I get that.

"But at the end of the day, here's the deal -- if we win, everything will be fine. And if we lose, I'll get fired. And I'm perfectly fine with that."

When I started scouting in 2003, most teams allowed scouts and coaches to see the draft board. By 2012, most teams only allowed 3-4 people (HC/GM/Personnel Director/College Director) to have access to the board. This isn’t *that* unusual.

Josh Rosen has the potential to be the biggest bargain in the league.

in what year is this not true lmao. every single year some player goes higher than they should/are projected to go, and other prospects fall as a result. this is just trying to sound smart.

I don't really follow the draft, who will the niners pick if the Cards decide to not be retarded and pick Bosa?

Most years you know who each team is going to take for the first 10-15 before they take them because everyone who does their homework already knows. I like that and was looking forward to that again this time, interesting to here that might not be the case this year. We shall see...

josh allen or brian burns, the latter after trading down. quinnen williams is BPA but they’ve taken first round DTs in a couple of their recent drafts so they need a pass rusher to pair with Dee Ford. i guess they could always go full retard and pick DK Metcalf or something.
name a single recent year where there were no surprises in the first ten picks. even with more QB uncertainty this year it doesn’t seem at all unusual.

>name a single recent year where there were no surprises in the first ten picks.

Every year so far that I've prepared for the Draft there have been no surprises at the top of the first round. Whats a year that happened for you?

>wasn't surprised that Mayfield went first overall
They should have picked Darnold.

Reminder that in the history of the NFL, no team that lost to the worst team in the league ever bounced back a year later. The 49ers are going 1-15

Attached: 6DF05A9D-EFE5-4447-BA91-3A82D6CFCBB6.jpg (1000x600, 33K)

so you had the bills and the cardinals trading up, derwin james falling, and ward over chubb? you must be very well connected

If cards pick Bosa like a competently run team, the 49ers are very high on Quinnen Williams. But that could also be smoke screen.

The way the team sees it, they have a lot of the defensive pieces in place. What the organization really needs is a dominant outside receiver. They will entertain trading down if they can get offers that aren't insults. They're high on Arciega-Whiteside, and one of the Browns I forget which.

No bulli

>best olb.
>preston smith.

enjoy him only showing up in half of your games.

Let them sleep. It's only going to be sweeter when the 49ers claim the division.

Alright Colin, give it a rest already

I can't wait for the kangs to have a disappointing season and miss the playoffs again

No, no no, what I am saying is in the year when I make a chart of all the mock drafts and read the articles on all the teams needs. it turns out that the accurately predicted who each team was going to take at the top of the first round. It's crazy how good they are, not me

Now sure, if I just went into a draft cold turkey with no info of course I'd be surprised, but even the guys on my local radio correctly predict each person taken at the top of the 1st Round

I don't remember a year where there were any surprises

As for last year with Baker, Chubb, James, I didn't get a chance to do my homework for that draft so I have no idea if there were any surprises or not

Its not every year i have time to get the consensus on who is going to take who, but ever year i have the time to do so it always turns out there are no surprises

Hopefully ill have the time this year and we shall see. I kinda liked knowing who everyone was going to take with no surprises but it would be interesting to see a draft with suprises

>just trying to sound smart

>the bills, dolphins, and jets have been shit for the past two decades save for two fluke AFC championship appearances and some losses in the wildcard.
>"n-no, the afc east is actually the toughest division! these constant 7-9 records prove it!"

Imagine looking at the dumpster fire teams in the afc east, which has not a different division winner since Tom Brady got injured in 2008, and saying to yourself, "this is the toughest division," because at least one of the teams finish with a 7-9 record.

>rooting for a division

>implying I implied that.

no you're just making excuses as to why the patriots have won more than your team without just accepting the obvious truth which is they're better

but darnold is shit and mayfield is not

Hard Knocks is going to be epic

The Bills, Jets, and Fins have a combined .500 record against non-Pats opponents over the last 10+ seasons.

They're not good, but they're not a dumpster fire overall

*grabs crotch*
*gets arrested*
*defies his coaches*

I am actually not at all, I am pointing out that the afc east is shit and has been shit for two decades, except for the Patriots.

You are unnecessarily defensive.

mock drafts can give you an idea of who teams are looking to pick, and a notion of which prospects are rated more highly, but I wouldn't say they're accurate to the point of predicting the top 10 or even the top 5 correctly to the level you describe. there are obviously situations where a guy is nearly a lock for the first overall (e.g. Clowney, Garrett) or that QB maneuvering makes it more obvious (Winston/Mariota in 2015, Goff/Wentz the next year), but even last year it didn't seem like most people weren't sold on Mayfield at 1 until weeks before the draft, and there was a lot of uncertainty behind that pick as well. it's compounded by the fact that draft trades are very hard to predict, and without fail some team will trade up or down in those early picks.

here's part of a mock i made last year. while I have nine of the first ten players taken in the actual draft, only one of them ends up going to the team that actually picked them. you can say that's because I'm not very good at mock drafts, which is fair, but if you look at ones made by pundits around the same time I think you'll find a similar mix of the same guys going at almost every spot in the first. when it comes to guys that good, you can talk yourself into thinking that most of these teams will want them.

Obviously, nobody is arguing the patriots aren’t the best team of the decade. We’re saying it wouldn’t have happened if the bills jets and dolphins actually went through regular team ups and downs instead of constantly in the basement. Look at the Steelers, a perennial superbowl team who’s dynasty ended because they actually faced a challenge in their division. The patriots haven’t been challenged in their division since 2008, and when they were challenged, they lost.

this

nah patriots would still be just as successful, save maybe one owl appearance, even if the afc east was not filled with three shit teams.

but the patriots getting to play three shit teams twice in a season really does help when deciding the number one seed.

but parity isn't necessarily the same as strength

its not impressive to me if one season a bad giants team wins the division at 9-7 and the next the redskins win it at 10-6.

*is a better quarterback.*

Why do you always put on the guise of being some draftnick despite being so very wrong every single year?

>afc east teams not named the patriots have had 10 playoff appearances in 51 aggregated seasons since 2001.

teams going 7-9 is not impressive either, nor does it make the afc east look "stronger."

so you do root for divisions since it bothers you that the afc east is shit

>mfw Old Bay is actually Colin

Attached: usa_today_10487518.0.jpg (1200x800, 107K)

this is probably the most reasonable take, it's somewhere in the middle

not a point of whether or not it matters, it is true.

afc east is shit.

Because every other division in the NFL doesn't have, at a minimum, two bottom feeders every fucking year.

>not a point of whether or not it matters

well it obviously DOES matter to you since you keep getting mad about it

The bottom feeders change every year though. The AFC east is the only division where the bottom feeders are the same every year

while obviously the incompetent management of the three non-Pats AFCE teams factors into their ineptitude in recent years, the Patriots themselves also have a significant impact on why they've been so bad. because they're so consistently dominant there is more pressure to beat them than for any other team in any other division, which leads to the Bills/Jets/Dolphins taking big risks in the draft/FA and turning over their coaching staffs with regularity. there's a reason why they've reached on guys like Ryan Tannehill, EJ Manuel, and Geno Smith to name a few. in comparison, the Giants have held onto Eli Manning far longer than anyone else would have thought possible because the NFCE has constant turnover at the top of the division, so there's not one tyrant who the FO feels the need to overthrow.

It does matter to me because anything I talk about matters to me to some extent

People wouldn't complain about the afc east was garbage if the pats didn't win the super bowl every other year.

there was like a 3-5 year stretch where the AFC south had 0 good teams but nobody cared because they got bounced in the first round of the playoffs

I do not see anyone calling the afc south, "the toughest division."

the longest stretch the AFCS has gone without a playoff win since realignment is one year. in those year (2005 and 2008) the division sent two teams to the playoffs.

well the afc east actually does have the highest win% since realignment.

you can say that's misleading or not representative because it's one great and three mediocre teams who get 6-8 wins every year but it's not an opinion that the afc east has the highest winning % since 2002, it's a fact

okay you're not wrong but the point is every other division has turnover and people equate turnover to strength and parity where it could be just one bad team taking over another bad team's playoff spot.

AFC east is dogshit, but these arguments are just so tired and ultimately irrelevant to the coming year.

there's a week to the draft and we're talking about something that's been talked about 1,000 times already.

until the Pats stop winning the Super Bowl we're always going to have the "AFCE is a shit division" talk. i think it's probably better to see it as a division that has poorly run teams whose incompetence is compounded severely by playing the best dynasty in modern NFL history two times a year for the last two decades. the other teams probably wouldn't have been competing for owls very regularly even without the Pats, but with them there's basically no chance.

I will because that is very misleading and not representative.

>i miss McAdoo, Shurmur has the personality of soggy cereal.
I remember in week 1 of the 2017 season, when reporters asked Ben what he thought of the Ezekiel Elliot possibly being able to play or not based on a suspension. He responded, "
All running backs run the same when there's nowhere to run.
" That is an extremely based response and now we have someone who just seems like the PG-13 version of Jim Harbaugh (in terms of personality). I don't know how much of the giants' fucking up was Mcadoo's fault, but whatever.

>PG-13 version of Jim Harbaugh
Wow that sounds like least inspiring coach of all time

McAdoo wasn't without his faults, but the state of current Giants can't be put on him imo. He wanted to actually prepare for a future without Eli and retarded mouthbreathing Giants fans threw a tantrum when their golden boy's streak was ruined, even as he was playing some of the worst football of his career. Between refusing to tear off that bandaid and the departure of Coughlin leading to a complete loss of the locker room, it's not hard to see why they're in such a bad place right now.
Shurmur is like the generic coach they replace Bill Belichick with in Madden games. there is literally nothing notable about him, he's basically a caretaker.

Attached: eli.png (867x657, 1018K)

Lots of insiders are saying Patriots want N'Keal Harry.

fucking knew it

McAdoo had absolutely zero control over the team and was largely to blame for Odell acting as out of control as he did. By Week 8 of 2017 guys like Jenkins and Apple were openly throwing games trying to get him fired.

Anyone who looks at the state of the Giants' offense in 2016/2017 (i.e. how McAdoo tried to turn Eli into Aaron Rodgers without regard for the fact that Eli's a slow pocket passer and had a bottom three O-Line) and says "Well actually Jerry Reese and Marc Ross and Ben McAdoo were right!" is disgustingly intellectually dishonest.

Macadoo is the only guy so far that has had the balls to do what is necessary and bench Eli

They're likely to take best WR available with TJ Hockenson going top15 and Noah Fant being rumored as a coaches nightmare.

>Anyone who looks at the state of the Giants' offense in 2016/2017 and says "Well actually Jerry Reese and Marc Ross and Ben McAdoo were right!" is disgustingly intellectually dishonest.
I didn't say that though, I said "I don't know how much of it was his fault". And I meant that in a way of saying that he needed to be out eventually because he lost the locker room. I don't care who you are but if you lose the locker room you need a signed note from the man upstairs to save you from being canned. I meant in like this: "I wonder if all that shit would have happened if Mara and company put better support around him." If I recall correctly, Mara openly admitted to the public that they didn't give Mcadoo the support he should've gotten. They essentially gave him the keys to the team without restriction like a burnout dad giving the keys to his manual Challenger to his kid on prom night even though he has no idea how to take a fuckton of horsepower around a corner and ends up running it over the sidewalk

>Wow that sounds like least inspiring coach of all time
He pretty much seems like it. Even in his mic'd up video, the one where everyone tries to get their best impressions across, he seems extremely boring and uninspiring. He just strikes you as extremely unenthusiastic. Even his bitching at the ref seems dull

worst case: 12-4
best case: 14-2
logical case: 13-3

Eagles
worst case: 0-16
best case: 16-0
Any given Sunday

Based.

Wentz maybe, considering Pederson's win against Belichick.
I don't think any of the others will, but Prescott might put up a fight, given that his ability to pass out of the pocket. Jackson and Mayfield are too inexperienced to handle Belichick's defense.

New thread, homos.

I'd say worst case is Went gets hurt and Studfeld flops to a 4-12 record
Best case Wentz wins MVP and they go 14-2
Logical case they go 11-5 and lose in the NFCCG

If you’re an Eagles fan, you should be celebrating. Only face two Pro Bowl level QBs on road all year. Matt Ryan & Aaron Rodgers. Quite a break. Look like NFC East champs to me.

The Eagles are looking good but saying the floor is a 12-4 season is retarded. Better teams than this have blown up. Don't count your wins before you play the games.
