Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that he was never anything more than a tap in merchant, and his 'clutchness' was a gypsy meme?

>zoomers think Ronaldo always played as a striker all his life
Sad

really good winger that extended his career beyond anyone's expectation by specializing in tap-ins and penalties. admirable work ethic, but should never have been in the GOAT conversation

/thread

naw, that ain't true at all

thats unironically how he will go down in history. side by the side with the likes of klose, puskas, gento, or suarez (the old suarez).

A greasy Gilardino
A roiding Roy Makaay
A bum bandit Benteke
A tap in Tony Cottee

yes

during the only relevant part of his career, yes. winger ronaldo was at the same level as kaká.

>Kaka
Who?

Inzaghi is a better poacher, he has a world cup too.

he chokes in big games every year while scoring hattricks in laliga on sundays at Camp Nou.
>b-b-but Manchester United

Messi's last goal in an international final was 7 (seven) years ago, also he scored 0 official goals against Brazil. think about that for a while.

Are you dumb? Manchester skills compilations are literally the best time of his career

No he's pretty clutch in front of the goal, and he's still very athletic. But that's just it. He cant contribute as much to the game and needs constant service. Compare to a guy that has been memed to death here, Griezmann. He plays in a significantly less offensive team, and he's in every game assisting the defence, driving the ball up the pitch, and the service he gets in some games is just a blooter down the sideline that he has to hold on for dear life before someone comes to help. Neymar is also very underrated because he buried his career in Ligue 1 but he contributes more than Ronaldo to the game too, simply because he can actually do things with a ball at his feet, short and long passing, eliminating players from more than sheer acceleration, ball control and all around creativity and technicity. Everyone that said Ronaldo "did it on his own" is either a kid or someone whose knowledge and understanding of the sport is as shallow as a pond.
