What do you think of my ranking of English football clubs in the modern era?

inb4 boomers come in with muh history, this is strictly concerning how good English teams have been in the far more competitive and prestigious modern era. Tinpot trophies such as the First Division (when England was literally a farmers league) won't be considered.

As a Newcastle fan, I'd say this is fair.

When is Mike Ashley gonna fuck off

this isn't as subtle as you're hoping

i buy sports direct mugs every year which probably isn't helping

kys

SEETHING
Sorry that your club has done nothing relevant in the modern era

What do you mean, mutt?

your graphics skills are shit

Seething

Never. He is making a shitload of money from targetting 17th every season, the new TV deal means leeching owners will never voluntarily leave clubs.

yep this is actually spot on desu

nobody considers the FA cup more important than the champions league, for one

100% accurate

FA Cup is the greatest cup competition in the world. I say this unironically.

What do you mean? The Champions League winners are in the top tier, FA Cup winners in the third.

Based and redpilled. Nothing matches the history, magic and comfyness of THE Cup.

i'll refer you again to my first post

Not sure what you're getting at. Perhaps you should leave this thread immediately considering your flag, and post in mutt sports containment generals instead.

you are really funny m8!

What he's saying is, I'm sure you understand, is that the 3rd tier has an FA Cup win. However Liverpool have CL wins. Therefore the 3rd tier should be 'Has CL wins' rather than 'Has FA Cup wins'. I however do agree with your original image. Considering Liverpool a 'big club' when they have spent over £1bn and won sweet fuck all bar a League Cup, what, six years ago? And a CL in 2005 after refball?

This is just a shit bait to get liverpool supporters mad, don't take the bait and ignore the ill abl

>abl
Leicester are listed as a decent side.

Why would Leicester supporters be mad?

They literally give them away, and they hold way too much tea

I literally have an Arsenal pint mug. Pint of tea is great mate. Or cowfee.

>not exclusively having tea in Sports Direct mugs filled to the brim

ABL refers to fans of liverpool losing. Liverpool are the most successful club in North West Europe so obviously the L stands for Liverpool, them having been more successful than any French, German, or other North West European team.

United surpassed them a few seasons ago mate if we follow this Liverpool image.

I'm not a Liverpool supporter, although even if I was I'm not sure I'd follow the conclusion that the image seemingly leads to. United simply have not been anywhere near good enough in Europe to be considered amongst Liverpool and Bayern, sorry.

Mate that's an old image by about four years. In the mean time United won an FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League. I can't remember how many.

No one cares about boomer titles from when English football was played by fat builders who smoked cigarettes at half time. It was a farmers league back then. In the modern era, i.e. within the lifetimes of most people on this board, Leicester City have won more titles than Liverpool.
Consequently, ABL refers to Anyone But Leicester, and always has on spee. You must be pretty new if you mistook ABL for Anyone But Liverpool. AB_ status is granted to only the most elite clubs, and Liverpool, as the OP shows, are anything but elite these days.

I understood perfectly. United simply have a far too inferior record on the biggest stage (I.e. European) to consider them as successful as Liverpool. Well argued though, and I'll see you in other threads I'm sure, better luck next time.

Liverpool 1988/89 beats the title winning Leicester team very easily on equal terms, I'm afraid. Even rejecting that, football history absolutely cannot be referred to with absolute measures of quality because modern teams would mostly always be better per that metric. If one must consider past teams against current then relativity must be introduced, in which case Leicester's greatest ever side would only approach one of Liverpool's better sides. Liverpool have won eighteen English Premier League titles and are the most successful team in North West Europe.

seems accurate

Objectively, the modern era started in 2016, that means, City and Chelsea.

Leicester, Blackburn, Arsenal and United are fucking out.

The oil clubs are at the top, who would’ve thought?

you could just put less tea in

>doesn't want to include Tinpot trophies
>includes FA cup

When's Leicester gonna get their own 900M kit deal though? We all know that pub teams with no league titles could never!

>Modern era started in 2016
Fucking customers I swear

Oh please, the fucking melodrama.

Incase your eyes are blind, the total income jumped £3.2 bn and income per year jumped £1.1 bn. Per team that’s extra 50m. That goes into transfer fees and wages.

Do people really believe Liverpool could hire a worldwide in-demand (United, RM, Bayern) coach like Klopp in 2015 (from fucking Rodgers), upgrade their stadium/training facility and completely rewamp their squad without that money?

If people want to make a cutoff period, what bigger fucking objective measurement is there other than money? The next cutoff is 2019, unless the money doesn’t change.

Speaking as a Liverpool fan, can't disagree desu. Hopefully it'll change this year!

>it's all about Liverpool
So the mental illness affects to JF bandwagoner too

>they hold way too much tea
State of you

>believing this
>trying to underplay Leicester's premier league winning season

Seething ABL detected

>west ham
We could do so much better if we had actual defenders instead of
>Arthur Masuaku

Instead we keep buying fucking 90 year olds

>correct usage of ABL
Based

Portsmouth are the biggest club on the south coast

Sad but true. The man is making money hand over fist to have a team in the premiership each year but finish just safe out of the relegation zone for those sweet, sweet tv shekels. It makes zero sense for him to just up and sell the team unless some arab comes in and throws stupid money at Mike to the tune of "making an offer he couldn't refuse."

Liverpool have won less Champions leagues than United have since 1985

Since millennium started Liverpool has won UEFA cup, CL '05, played two times in cl final '07 and '18. They're decent.
As an Arsenal fan I think they deserve their respect.
