This club is the only club to have stayed in the Championship for its entire existence since its rebranding in 2004 until now, never having been promoted or relegated.

They have been relegated today.

Assuming neither manage an outside chance of promotion, then next season Derby and Forest will be the Championship clubs with the longest amount of Championship seasons since they were last out of the league, Derby in the Prem and Forest in League 1 in 2007/08. Derby will also be the current Championship club to have served the most seasons in the league, only missing out for one Premier League season, and will have played in 15 of the 16 seasons that the Championship will have existed at that point.

Leeds needs to play Ipswich as their final game of the season. They surely have a chance to direct promotion now

Why will other teams never understand, we literally are happier to go down than keeping him. The support has been incredible for the last few weeks partially in recognition of this. People said this at the time when we had McCarthy, especially in his final season.
Are top division NPC fans literally unable to understand that some things are more important than winning?
If you hate watching your team play, what does it matter whether they win, draw, or lose?
The most based fucking player, he never should've left us.

>Mick McCarthy's shit football is holding us back

Tbf they'll probably enjoy playing Accrington Stanley, Lincoln City and (Allah willing) Wimbledon

So your football improved this year?

Unironically yes. That's how fucking unbearable McCarthy's play was, literal bottom of the league football is better.

Well, fair enough - enjoy. I know my own team was revitalised by a trip to league 1.

Rather than hanging on in quiet (or loud) desperation for years on end, it's better to get relegated (and bounce back up). Losing most games and finishing 17th every season drains the will, whereas going down means playing easier teams and winning becomes a habit again, plus you clear the deadwood (see Leicester, Man City etc)

Indeed. Leicester is my team, and the league 1 year was great,
Don't become a Bradford, though.
