I went to a thursday round a few years ago.
Going to the masters is a special experience. They aren't being elitist,they're trying to make it a special event for anyone who attends.

I've gone to a couple US opens and a PGA championship, the masters is by far the most intimate and welcoming settings in sports. It's also by far the cheapest to attend; I spent more to see the braves play the next day than I did at Augusta.
