MIDWEEK MATCH THREAD

Because there's more than just the Champions League on tonight.

The last round of midweek EFL fixtures for this season are upon us and could confirm the demise of the season's worst team by far (although they are being pushed close).

For Ipswich Town to be relegated this evening after 17 seasons of doing very little in the division, they will have to lose to Brentford and all three teams directly above the drop zone have to win. This is highly unlikely to happen, as Reading are one of said trio and have to beat the slowly imminent champions Norwich City, who could go 8 points clear tonight. They need Birmingham City to defeat Sheffield United in the main TV game though for this to happen, and it would be back-to-back Yorkshire humblings for ex-Leeds and Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk if he could do it over Chris Wilder's Blades. The two other teams in the Ipswich relegation conundrum are Wigan Athletic, crossing the M62 for a rugby derby with Hull City, and Millwall who host fellow London strugglers Queens Park Rangers. Rotherham United could also have a say in the relegation battle if they defeat play-off hopefuls Aston Villa.

All games kick-off at 7:45pm.

>Birmingham City v Sheffield United (live on Sky Sports Football from 7:00pm)
>Brentford v Ipswich Town
>Hull City v Wigan Athletic
>Millwall v Queens Park Rangers
>Norwich City v Reading (live on Sky Sports Action from 7:40pm)
>Rotherham United v Aston Villa

>narrich

jesus christ norwich

Where's your finngolian god now??

Probably less than Leeds

I'm not sure who the bigger bottle jobs are out of Leeds or Sheffield United. Whoever gets second place will have frauded their way to the Premier League.

sheff united always stuff up in the playoffs so if they don't finish in the auto's they're cooked
gut feel is leeds in second and villa in the playoffs

>everyone's faces when leeds sneak up in 2nd and get relegated with less than 11 points

Attached: kids at a rave thanking the based god.gif (400x212, 1.68M)

villa would have got automatic if we had dean smith all season

after doing a fulham, spending big and it failing
bielsa quits early on in the season and is replaced by david wagner

>Blunts

wagner is sacked in january and replaced by iain dowie

the greatest timeline

Leeds always stuff up in a promotion race full stop

top of the table, top of the goalscorers table, shared 5th place in assists

Leeds fan here. Bielsa's just laying the foundations for Moyes.

When he retires having won us the quadruple, it'll be time for Ian Holloway to step up.
