Do England FA and english people regret England didn't want to be in the first World Cups? I think it's probable they could win at least 1930 WC

I think they should remove WC wins after 30 years or so.

USA eliminated England in the 1950 WC so who knows

I thought americans made a party after that match, even because It was against England and blablabla but they didn't care at all. Not even was on news.
Since I discovered this my hype on this match was dead

To be fair even if we did win the 1930 WC everyone would still mock us for winning an ancient tournament ;_;

But it's better than nothing. Uruguay won two ancient cups but still it's 2 cups.

you count ours then too?

The fact we (and Scotland) told FIFA to fuck themselves further adds to the whole 'early World Cups are meaningless' argument, which is important when bullying Uruguay online.

Wow a Canadian in a football thread, thought would never ser It

Football in the 30s was garbage. Think how many players were part-timers, unfit, played multiple sports and how shit the scouting systems must have been. Pitches would have been just dry dirt too. I can see why the FA didn't take it seriously.

It would have been nice to get an extra star on the shirt, but I wouldn't feel much pride in accomplishments from 90 years ago.

It wasn't at the level it was today, but it was far from garbage.

I wouldn't want to risk living in a universe where Scotland (who used to be good) have two world cups to our one.

I count all our world championships in the 1800's against Scotland. Stitched the stars on my kit la

1900, 1908 & 1912. Four stars on the shirt. British Home Championships still gleaming.

Sometimes I even forget Scotland exists. Yeah this is a good point

Their fault for refusing to merge with the FA. Celtic and Rangers could actually be relevant teams

>Sometimes I even forget Scotland exists.
I envy you.

>Celtic and Rangers could actually be relevant teams
You mean they aren't the biggest clubs in the world like the Jocks tell us?

This.

Probably would have won the first three tbqh. We had clout to have insisted the cup was held in England each time, where we literally didn't lose a game until the 50s.
Still would have been meme cups like the prewar ones are anyway
