Nah, m8. This was more about a joke back in the day where Philliesfags and Bravesbros spent something like a 3 hour rain delay arguing over which city had better rain. It was pretty funny.
If you weren't here for the game that was posted, it was really awful. It was hard rain and it was like 35 degrees. Even the Cubs said MLB should have canceled the game because of how terrible the conditions got.
Angel Bailey
Y-y-you are shit
Nolan Morris
Ah shit. I can see the confusion. I'm glad I missed that one.
Please, it isn't like we literally hired a Native American mascot, made him live in a teepee, and had him do a stereotypical dance every time the team hit a homer or anyt-
>Game gets called after this inning >Fried gets credit for a perfect game
Anthony Watson
What's funny is they are paying a guy 50 million in chatwood to be in the bullpen but refused to give Wade Davis what he asked for. Team is a fucking joke.
Colton Price
I dont live anywhere near Toronto, thank fuck
Andrew Parker
If you examined his body of work and playing time, it'd be a hard no.
Mason Davis
>Imagine watching your favorite starter choke and get pulled so you have to shitpost against a successful ballclub instead.

Reminder the Cubs fucking suck and won't win another game until Happ gets called back up.

Perfect game MUST last 9 or more innings.
Liam Wood
>its a cubs panic sign Dallas keuchel to 3 years 85 million episode
David Mitchell
Daily reminder they paid 180 million over 8 years to a role player like Heyward
Lincoln Wilson
LOL you wish you had a guy that could go 7 no ER innings, 1 hit in 14 total innings thus far
Benjamin Wood
Chatty's deal is $38 million but I was fairly pissed when the Cups signed Morrow - a guy with a clear injury problem - instead of a reliable closer like Davis who was so good for >us that year
Ethan Lopez
Cubs only went after Heyward because they were scared of Cardinals signing him. SO they blocked the cardinals instead. Perfect irony.
Jason Reed
I said it yesterday. It seems Cubs never win against the braves ever. Especially if they are in Atlanta.
Alexander Long
>the city of Shitcongo
Noah Flores
Cardinals should thank them
also lol second night in a row they walked three in a row and promptly give up a 3 rbi double
Arietta's looking like a bargain now. He's passed his expiration date like he did in Boston.
John Wood
Wtf was that noise?
Blake Wilson
Where's your Russian flag, or are you just another asset?

And it's still true today :p

Did a single Cubs fan want Darvish on a long deal over a short Arrieta deal? Epstein overthought that one or just didn't like Jake's politics. Probably the later. Embarrassing!
Jaxson Nguyen
Fried is absolutely filthy.
Jaxon Long
>muh russia hoax

>this team won the eries 3 years ago Shit like this give ammo to people who think this shit is rigged
He called out some virtue signalling lib threatening to leave the USA if Trump won. Didn't sit too well with Theo.
Connor King
did not realize Fried had all that hair under his hat
Hunter Gutierrez
The problem is Arrieta had Borres as his agent and he was wanting 200 million at the bare minimum and because of that, Cubs kept kicking Arrieta's contract negotiations down the road until it came to ahead last year. If it's worth anything, before the Cubs pulled the trigger on Darvish, they made the same offer to Arrieta which he turned down. Also, Arrieta only took the short Phillie deal because no one was going to sign him for what he wanted, hell even Darvish's contract was cheaper than what people expected, and this was before he was a total bust.
Kevin Robinson
better put some ice on that arm and keep it loose m8
Luke Mitchell
I didn't know Atlanta had some many /pol/ppets. Then again, you guys actually rig your elections.
Lucas Bell
yes, yes, we know, Democrats never lose elections, they just get cheated out of them blah blah blah
For the most part there isn't a huge rivarely between the Cubs and Sox like you see with say New York. It's just hyped up by the media
As for the fanbase, the Cubs don't care about the White Sox, but the White Sox hate the Cubs because Chicago is always seen as a Cubs first city and the Sox are always living in their shadow (It's explains why they're white.)
Ian Edwards
The Original Italian Beef
Michael Rodriguez
cubs fans act like they dont care about the white sox but take cheap shots at the sox all the time don't believe their lies
Jeremiah Rodriguez
I kind of want to see a buddy road comedy with those two.
I don't really hate sox fans. I'm sure some hate each other but I can talk baseball with them. It also depends on how competitive they are as well. The loudest fans are those that are "Chicago fans" and they're annoying. I get along with sox fans. That being said, I still hope they lose.
Ayden Walker
>The tranny boogyman You must go back
Angel Lee
nono wasnt happening. his pitch count was like 80
Cooper Evans
What do the cubs have to do this season for him to neck himself
Thanks, Chicagbros. I've been to Wrigley a couple of times and enjoyed the history. I've never made it to a Sox game though. Chicago was always a fun city whenever I had a chance to go.
Chase Myers
shut out means you win the game.
Parker Bailey
wow nice catch. the cubs did a thing
Ian Smith
Damn. McCann almost went yard in (current year) of 2019 in a Braves uniform.
cubs fans will always say "sox fans hate the cubs way more than cub fans hate the sox" but cub fans will jump at any opportunity to talk shit about the sox and their fans. especially the past few years, they've been getting real uppity
Landon Cruz
At least Almora is making the case for staying at Center with that leaping grab. Now if only his bat heated up.
Anyone thing they should have Almora and Baez go in order like last year?
Even the pitchers are getting in on the shoddy fielding
Tyler Wright
Feel free to post actual evidence and not stuff that's just people falseflagging as Cubs fans.
Jace Rogers
I just feel bad for Cubes fans. At least have the 90s run, you just had one fluke win and are slowly regressing each year
Aaron Allen
and they're stuck with a stupid-expensive roster lol
Eli White
I wouldn't call going to 3 consecutive NLCSs and 4 playoff appearances a fluke. The problem is the Cubs always flamed out or were ice cold during the playoffs minus 2016.
Jordan James
Podsednik three a few punches and got ejected. I only remember because my brother who's a white sox fan wouldn't shut up about the white sox "winning the fight"
Brody Martin
at least i wasnt 4 during my ws win you fuckin zoomer
braves had 4 world series appearances in 6 years and were robbed blind in one of them
Cubs had a great team in 2016, and I respect that run. But keep bringing up 3 years ago as if it means anything right now. Your team is overpaid and incredibly shallow. No pitching and besides Zagunis basically no power prospects
Michael Thomas
DON'T JINX >SHAW
Sebastian Price
>Tadahito Iguchi hit a grand slam to give his team a 5-0 lead.
yeah just blank that part out long with the 4-2 White sox Series win.
Easton Gomez
I'm still on the Rizzo-batting-leadoff bandwagon
maybe this year they have a cold regular season only to heat up in October
Leo Sanders
I think the problem is more that some very large free agent acquisitions and high-cost trades have ranged from mediocre to poor in terms of outcome. They don't have much flexibility to patch things up outside of convincing the owner to drop another $30-50M a year.
Jacob Campbell
>basically no power prospects >cites the fucking Lithuanian platooner
instead of Nico Hörner! contrived!
Leo Powell
where will you be when the braves walk off in game 7 of the world series against the yankees on a mccann homerun?
Benjamin Edwards
Ah ha ha, another base hit by Zig Zug
>Rizzo He is the best lead off pitcher in baseball.
I was in High School and beating scrubs at Street Fighter 2 in the arcade when that happened. I'm just glad it happened when I was old enough to remember.
>trying to use divide and conquer tactics because they're outscoring you 17 to 4
Brody Baker
I was referring to the fight itself retard
Tyler Morris
Hopefully, there in person. If not, shitposting with you guys on Yea Forums.
Jack Bell
Sounds like you're just a bunch of chokers. Personally I'd rather get eliminated in the Championship series than lose in the world series. Everyone will remember you as losers.
Brandon Martinez
Your team is fucking joke. Should have taken the Syndegaard for bryant deal while it was on the table
Nathan Carter
"jeff, let's talk about Josh Donaldson' D right now"
>finally, some legit banter

fuck i wish NeonDeon, Hotlanta, and Hank Arron still posted.
Your faggot team is going to get curbstomped in MIL, the cards last there, in several 1 run games, you guys will be lucky to be within 5 any of the games
Robert Rodriguez
>Chicago is always seen as a Cubs first city
Only to zoomers who don't remember the past. The Sox were more popular than the Cubs almost the entire time from the late 50's through the early 80's. The Cubs popularity really started once WGN was broadcasted over cable TV. Then they got popular all over the country.
Landon Scott
cheers to that mate
Jayden Lewis
93 braves should have wona ws
Parker Long
>At least we'll still dominate that.
Not the way you're playing now. The Soxs' "rebuilding team" looks better than the Cubs' "playoff team." At the rate the Cubs are going, they'll finish with a worse record than the Sox.
More Truly, I don’t know who should be ousted because of the Cubs poor start. Doesn’t feel like Maddon’s fault. Can’t hold it against Theo that he spent $ on guys who we all wanted (but then didn’t work out). Can’t trade the high-cost, low-production players. Who’s the scapegoat?
Thomas Ward

I never thought I would say this, but I could honestly see Joe Maddon becoming the fall guy and losing his job early this season. That, or this is Theo’s orchestrated down year to overhaul what he has built. Address bad contracts and re-build the farm system.
Ayden Peterson
id love to se BARVES POSTING make a return >STAY HYDRATED
Ayden Johnson
This, fuck the Ricketts.
Sebastian Nguyen
Are you and Neon getting along these days despite y'all's political differences?
61-101 was the record the last time the Cubs started 1-5 hope you're Proud Theo and Jed, refused to sign Dallas Kiegel and Criag Kimbrel. Plus hiring a Incompetent pitching coach. Maybe Theos are the ones that need to be fired and not Joe Maddon
Lucas Stewart
He's got a stick jammed up his ass
Dominic Rivera
Am I really fucking high or has the score box been fucking this half inning?
Landon Lopez
To be fair, 90% of my posting is done without a trip these days.
Got to wonder when talk will start of Joe Maddon’s job security. Cubs have been sloppy fundamentally for 2+ years since winning the WS. Goofy managing will wear thin when you are losing.
Logan Brown
Full disclosure, I don't think Carl Edwards Jr is any good, but it was a horrible move for Maddon to throw a struggling Edwards into a rain storm. Way to worsen his confidence issues.
Mason Brown
>be Stacey >threaten to tear down stone mountain >be shocked when nobody votes for you
Wow it's like nobody wants a piece of art that took an unfathomable amount of time and skill to complete to be scrapped in favor of a virtue signaling fad.
Ayden Lee
>Can't hold it against Theo that he spent $ on guys who we all wanted (but then didn't work out). A lot of his free agent misses had some real red flags that people are just conveniently forgetting. Heyward's last year in Atlanta looks exactly like his last two in Chicago. He always did make a lot of soft contact, but teams weren't shifting as much when he first came up.
Matthew Foster
Fire everyone! Trade everyone! Relegate the whole team to the Pacific Coast League! Relocate the franchise to Montreal! this is crazy! outrageous! fucking....psychotic!!!!

>virtue signal This is why no one likes conservatives, the idea that people do the right thing because it's the right thing cannot be fathomed so it must be some devious plot, thus they forced this meme that people only act good because they want to be seen as good and aren't actually good people.
Christian Russell
its going on two years...the cubs knew carl and strop and the others were wash up
Fire Maddon, they need a new voice and fresh star. Blackhawks had the balls to fire coach q and almost made the playoffs after that same team was dead last under coach Q. Time for the cubs to do the same. Thank you for the world series Joe but it's time to go.
David James
I dont think the MLB would want to relocate the sox even if they are second string to the cubs. The White Sox are too historic and cultural
Caleb Sanders
WHERES THE ASS MAN?
Levi Rogers
The Hawks would have made the playoffs if they had the same coach all year, Q or not.
Nicholas Peterson
god damn it cubs why
Ryder Reyes
Darvish shouldn’t have been pulled so early today. Maddon has way too quick of a trigger finger to the pen. Darvish obviously wasn’t shutting the braves down but he was doing fine for the most part
Jaxson Lee
Thinking about you floating that cutout around the screen trying to make it fit perfectly on Conrad's shoulders was hilarious.
Austin Barnes
>91876405 Salary: 500,000 USD (2014) Current team: Broncos de Reynosa
Grayson Fisher
It could be the players need a new voice, but it's really not on Maddon. The most clear areas to upgrade the team basically can't be addressed because of the huge salary commitments the GM has placed there.
Question for Cub fans. When your team are sellers at the deadline and trading people away to start the rebuild is there anybody that you would like to see go to a specific team? I think Bryant would look good in an Angels uni.
Ethan Wright
>Maddon has way too quick of a trigger finger to the pen seriously, and when it comes to switching pitchers. which makes no sense when you consider how sketchy this 'pen is.
just fire fucking everybody and let the team manage themselves (dubs)
Joshua Jones
I wish
never got to go
Daniel Jackson
stop clowning around faggot...cubs serious business
Jaxon Campbell
God yes. I had momentarily forgotten though.
Sebastian Barnes
The great irony is that garbage singles poster was 100% right
Heyward Chatwood and Darvish would look nice on the cardinals
Aiden Torres
Welp, I think this game is finally officially out of hand.
At this point, the only question is who's going to be the fall guy, given Maddon is on a lame duck year and everything is going terrible, he's the go to person. As for the roster, there really isn't anyone you can point to since everyone is doing bad. It's like in 2017 where the team was slumping and then Montaro conveniently decided to shoot his mouth off and then got DFA'd. With how bad things are, if there's going to be any cracks in the clubhouse, we're going to see the leaks very soon.
Although the real question is, who do the Cubs have as an interim manager Maybe get Joe Girardi if he's still available? I can't see the Cubs going into rebuild mode becuase they're launching their new TV network and the Rickets just jacked up the ticket prices, again. That's a recipe for disaster if you want to make money.
i think yu's upside makes losing the floor on teheran worth it
Sebastian Hughes
how do we feel about frenchy in the booth? hes no smoltz.

I would make that trade in a heartbeat. And I hope Julio proves me wrong.

Even if he was terrible I couldn't mind him having the gig.
i wasnt old enough to remember but it was right across the street and i went to an olympics game just dont remember which
Gabriel Adams

Kayden Collins
Based. The other day they were talking up Darvish and talking about Hader won’t stay healthy.

Softball question, pls no bully. I've moved to the US from Euroland just a few weeks ago, and watched two local softball games - looked like fun. How would I go about learning to play the game to eventually join a rec league/team? Somewhat embarrassed to ask, and joining a team is obviously out of question at this stage (although I feel like if I'm given a month or so, I could probably level with some of the weaker players). Or should I just rock up and ask one of the team coaches?
Samuel Nguyen
fly the W
Ayden Foster
Anyone miss Leo Mazzone's autistic rocking?
Isaiah Ross
You'd probably need some people to practice with. At least one buddy. Hit off a tee. Hit some lobbed balls. Field ground balls and fly balls hit off a bat.
Do you have any kind of grasp on the rules of the game itself?
Leo Green
You can find the rules on the internet and you can also find instructional videos that will give you some tips on hitting and then practice that at your local batting cage. I think Tom Emanski's videos are available for free on YouTube, too.
Daniel Scott
Just ask one of the coaches. They will probably have workshops, website with times/classes, and things like that to point you in the right direction. Explain that you're new here and are interested in it but don't know the ropes. Most people will be glad to help you learn.
I actually got into curling, in Texas for a brief period doing this.
Michael King
I believe most adult softball leagues are filled with chads who were former high school baseball players. Though they are now fat wagecucks, they like to be able to still enjoy jocks and smash home run after home run. Some leagues are so tired of these guys that they implement a rule that home runs count as outs just to cut down on all the showing off.
I'd recommend you look into an adult kickball league. The rules are very similar to softball, but the players are far more amateur and less annoying in general.
Grayson Gonzalez
I got Goff fired, but I can't can't down ((bernstein)) but im currently targetting fatass worthless opiate addict that comes in at noon.
Josiah Johnson
Cheers mates, I'll just hit up one of the coaches and see if there's maybe others like me that start from zero.
James Butler
How?
Luke Young
>The rules are very similar to softball, but the players are far more amateur and less annoying in general.
Cheers for the tip. The two coed games I watched seemed fairly chill, my neighbour pointed me towards them. Maybe the local rec league is less annoying than the general average?
You can get a feel for the vibe pretty easily. If it's coed it's probably more laid back. Are there meatheads screaming at each other all of the time? If not, it's probably fine. Roughly where are you located, if you don't mind?
Jacob Reyes
it's Parkins, Parkins is my primary target and im already drafting emails to producers of the shoe about how uncomfortable i am with his constant discussion of opiate abuse and his lack of knowledge of anything but the final score of a game, no player knowledge, and makes a joke of any caller asking a serious question.
Soon ill begin calling in and making veiled attacks on his character to make him look back to the 3rd largest US city.
Aaron Cooper
i took down goff the same as typed here
Lucas Ramirez
Yes, we know conservatives are the ones who are the real villains throughout American history. They were the loyalists, the confederates and isolationists.
Benedict Arnold has more honor than your average modern conservative.
Eli Thompson
>Are there meatheads screaming at each other all of the time? Not really - it was about the mens/ladies split was about 70/30 for one team, and about 40/60 for the other. There was clearly one guy there who knew what he was doing and hit it pretty hard, but I thought the overall level seemed somewhat low. Some girls there were clearly confused as to where to run to at times. I'm in Northern Colorado, Longmont.
Andrew Butler
The trpfag is deluded in thinking he was able to be racist enough to get the black host upset on air. And not because he had terrible ratings.
Grayson Roberts
I wish you luck. It's a really beautiful game.
Mason Bennett
Low qualety troll
Jace Long
Good luck user because parkins is annoying as fuck, everything he says is so matter of fact, but he’s often wrong. Just 9 months ago he was talking about the “cubs dynasty” and I almost veered into oncoming traffic
