I've always been a certified Ferrari hater. I mean, they're the New York Yankees of racing. They get free money every year for doing nothing just to make sure they can't possibly be bad and overall they just leave a bad taste in my mouth. I could keep going but bottom line is they're my least favorite team.
But there's a problem: Charles LeClerc is quickly becoming my favorite driver...
This kid is the real deal. Not only is he a phenomenal racer with great pace but his story is inspirational. His attitude is fantastic. He's super relatable and generally just seems like a great guy. There's nothing not to like. Even his reasons for wanting to join Ferrari are admirable.
So what do I do? It's not so much that I'm looking for actual advice but I would love to know if anyone else is in the same boat. Are there any fellow Ferrari-haters out there being reluctantly won over by this LeClerc?

PhD is not worth it in finance if you don't want to stay in academia afterwards. Just do a summer internship or a 6 month one after graduating from your master's degree and then go into full time employment. I'm doing a lot of extra curricular work where we have this trading association where we trade weekly with our own portfolio consisting of our own real money, we have about 30k to trade with and regularly have to do financial analysis, risk analysis and some modelling too. Have been contacted for jobs already mainly because of that on my LinkedIn combined with some knowledge of R, STATA and Python.

BMW & Toyota both competed before and got stung; the sport obviously requires millions just to get going and the cost of getting to the front and staying there is billions. Mercedes were an engine supplier for a long time and seized an opportunity to become a full manufacturer team when they knew they could win.
Audi & Porsche have other racing investments for their brands (and are just brands of VW anyway). Ford would have no real reason to enter considering US viewing figures are relatively low versus their relevance there (and vice versa to the rest of the world).

Haven't considered that previously. That's actually a very good point. With the current rule interpretation that allows the >muh line car to push the other off as defence instead of actually racing them, it would only make matters worse.
Ideally a metre of grass then tarmac would be the best solution, but bikefags cry about that.

If they really want all the runoff for muh safety (when in reality the safety has been improved by crash structures and fuel tank improvement - when was the last time you saw a fireball crash), they can have gravel traps surrounding the outsides of corners with more tarmac beyond that. Have humps or high curbs for the insides (enough to damage cars but not steep enough to launch them)

The ones who blame Moto GP/bikes for a problem which is entirely F1's. F1 is the only series which makes this requirement of stupidly large run off areas and ones that go all the way from the track to the wall.
Moto GP are the good guys and make better quality circuits. The closest they have come to ruining a circuit was forcing the redesign of silverstone but they didn't ask for the acres of runoff. That was F1.
