>those plastic logos
YIKES

Cavalry has a nice logo, definitely better standards than MLS.

Well, I'm happy to know that Canada will already have its own soccer league

should i care a lot more about this than i want to?

Already bought tickets for wanderers first home game

Wish the names were cooler desu
>Calgary Cavalry
>Hamilton Forge
>Halifax Wanderers
>Victoria Pacific
>Winnipeg Valour
already way better

I'm glad to know that if there are people in Canada interested in the Canadian premier league

I give you a gift wallpaper

For me, it’s Forge FC.

>soon

All of the logos except Calvary are plastic.

Wales to our England

Yeah man finally some actual sporting events to go other than shit University games.

yea I can't stand this FC shit, our sports teams have names over here.

already so much better. how do we fix York 9 though?

I want Fernando to be the king of /CaPL/. Like to elect him King.

York 9's not terrible though

for me it's FC Edmonton

All those emblems look super pozzed

thanks

>no Edmonton Drillers

based mexicano you're one of us now
UP THE EDDIES

only 8 teams?

7 lol

Etobicoke FC lifelong, starting in 2025

first season LOL

England to our Scotland

Will one day the Eddies play in Commonwealth stadium? Or the Eskimos would just cuck them

Already played there a couple times when we were in the NASL. Pretty unlikely at the moment but if the team gets popular I could see it happening for a couple games a year.

SASUGA CITY

Based, I watched a CFL game on Commonwealth, right now Edmonton FC is playing in the literal backyard of Commonwealth.

Quite possibly the worst combination of team names and badges possible for an opening season. They're all so bland.

has already improved it. Just have to change "York 9" to "York Nine". Would also rename the Pacific one to "Vancouver Pacific".

>Just have to change "York 9" to "York Nine".
Meant to add "in the style of Indy Eleven" to that sentence at the end.

York 9 is called that because they're based in the Regional Municipality of York, which is made up of nine sub-municipalities, so the name York 9 kind of makes sense. Funnily enough, they don't even play their home games in York Region, they play them in Toronto (pic related, the dot is their home stadium location, roughly), but I guess it's close enough.

Also, the Pacific don't actually play in Vancouver, they play in Victoria, so naming it Vancouver would be a bit weird.

Will you guys allow a Red Bull or City team into your league

Technically, Victoria is on Vancouver Island.

Please watch our league

And York 9 play in North York, sure. But does it really count?

Absolutely. Saskatoon Saint-Germain when?

Asap to be quite honest. The more money is invested into the league the better it will be.

would like to see the Surrey Tatas 2bh

For me, it's York 9.

Nobody fucking goes to these games.

I think it will be better in the new league. No one ever gave a shit about the NASL

looks like Overwatch League logos

no it wont. it wont have the financial backing of burgerland and most of the stadiums hold less than 10000 people. it will end up being like a 7th tier euro league.

It's mostly just to develop Canadians for the World Cup. It'll be like MLS was in the 90s and hopefully go up from there

>York 9 is called that because they're based in the Regional Municipality of York, which is made up of nine sub-municipalities, so the name York 9 kind of makes sense.
Oh, I wasn't arguing against changing it, but rather it should be the word instead of the number.

>the Pacific don't actually play in Vancouver, they play in Victoria, so naming it Vancouver would be a bit weird.
Only suggested that because they're playing at BC Lions's stadium on Vancouver Island. "Victoria Pacific" just sounded odd to me even though it is technically correct.

Good, now all you need are right wing ultras and violence, make it happen.

tfw your closest team is going to be your future rival in like 5 years when your city gets a team

who lifelong York 9 here?

They already better then 90s MLS but not having those awful shootouts

Lifelong York 96 here

>soon

>canadian s*ccer fans
>anywhere right of chairman mao
I don't think you know about canada Ivan

bump

Red pill me on Valour fc. I really want to bandwagon them since Valour is such a nice word and Winnipeg is home to this based human being

All teams except for FC Edmonton (Which played for the recently killed NASL) were literally created for the CPL.

Pacific and Edmonton are really nice imo

Yeah but I like York in particular. FC Edmonton's is a mess.

Prairie town, cold, Chris Jericho is also from there.

>FC
I thought this was a Canadian League?

>valoUr

For me, it's Hand Job FC.

How much were tickets? Wouldn't mind going if there's anything still available.

Shit load of Filipinos in Winnipeg, shit load of natives, cold winters, hot summers, lots of sun, nothing particularly interesting for hundreds of kilometers in all directions. It's a prairie town.

FC stands for Fucking Cringeworthy

I accept this definition.

it used to be that semi-pro canadian teams were dominated by expat ex-yus and italians, so he's not far off actually. this whole "non-recent-immigrant canadians actually give a shit about the sport beyond which team their 8-year-old kids are playing on" is kind of new, but I like it

kind of neat Victoria is getting another sports team, so I might check it out. Being on the island I don't get to go to many high level sports events, which this won't be either, but still...

it'll be fun all the same I think. I'm closer to BC place than victoria but I'm more looking forward to seeing what happens in this league than MLS, even if the level of play is lower.
hopefully haber can do well there, he was an absolute beast for the caps back in NASL (or whatever it was called back then)

Huh interesting. What are my fellow Flips doing there? Are they behaving well?

I see
Didnt know Jericho was from there as well. Now wonder they work together alot

Please make Big Bad John's the official supporters bar

Sounds good to me, I'll bring the peanut shells.

For someone living in the Southeast US who should I root for? Halifax seems like it could be kind of cool because its in an area rarely represented in professional leagues but I hate the logo.

imagine how cringy the Canadian ultras are going to be so gay

It will become the next Yea Forums meme, it will be that bad
