Why are they so popular among people that have never watched a game in their lives?
Why are they so popular among people that have never watched a game in their lives?
It’s the peak NPC team
too shit to win anything but hang in the top 5 every year so nobody can call them bandwagons, it's likes how arsenal is so popular in america among hipsters
Probably that in combination with little historical succes. Arsenal/Chelsea/Manure had their moments in the 2000s. Spurs literally only managed to finish second once in the last 30 years.
It's simpler than that Jan. Hipster logic dictates them to avoid any and all banality out of fear of not being 'special' and 'unique'. It's their primary mating strategy since hipsters do not understand hard work and lack real life balls. Picking a team like City, United or Liverpool is far to bog-standard. They're afraid of being identified with the crowd. So they pick the only good team that's not the obvious choice for most people. The biggest irony being, that hipsters are a group line any other. So in the end they're as stereotypical as they come and not unique in the slightest. The eternal hipster will keep trying though. I recommend we start a hipster-holocaust to end this madness.
Because they're a good team. And they are up and coming. Can't be called glory hunters also since no wins. So safe choice with a bright future (so far)
ok thanks Henk
If you supports Spurs you can't be called a bandwagon fan because they haven't won anything and they are known for choking. Also they have a good enough squad that its possible they might win something in the near future. To a certain extent the same goes for Arsenal. Out of all the soccer fans I know in America literally all of them are either Arsenal or Tottenham fans.
Because they have an interesting name, same reason Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax have cult followings, not because they’re top level clubs but because they’re different
Because faggots in this country think not supporting a winner somehow means you’re not a bandwagoner
When in fact they’re still bandwagoners, just loser bandwagoners
The logo looks cool and the name stands out
>be American
>07 pick city caus non plastic
>get bought out by oil sheiks next season
It's been a blessing lads.
>never watch football in my life
>pick United because they’re winning everything
>Fergie retires
>City win everything now
Guess I deserve it for being plastic
I like them because they're the Jewish team
I always imagined people follow Ajax because they're 40+ and remember the good old days or something.
why is a chicken balancing on a basketball
Outside of Holland people bandwagon Ajax despire never watching an eredivise game in their life
I support real madrid to spite my dad since i ws a little kid, but I own ajax shirts that i wear unironically, sometimes as normal clothes, because the team always has good talent nd they are pretty good t scheming anglos like any good jew is.
well I started to like them the season when they lost to madrid in the qfs, and decided to "pick" them to be different from all the united/barca/madrid/chelsea gloryhunters in my school at the time
The only other spurs fans I've met are my grandparents or middle aged taxi drivers.
They are fairly popular among the Instagram crowd
That is the only reasonable answer. Everything else is just shitty banter
These are the only correct answers.
>And they are up and coming.
Hasn't this been said for years?
...
Around two years ago I only ever was interested in international football, until I decided to pay more attention to domestic football. I initially chose Spurs because of their nice kit, name and logo. Basically, for very superficial reasons. Then I saw that they are serial chokers and a plastic team with very little passion, so I ditched them and now I watched club football as a neutral (although spee made me despise Liverpool)
