because no one cares

Because they play a million games a season?

>inconsequential boreball games

this

similar thing with county cricket in England

no cunt cares

Heres the deal, the season has been the same length for decades, why the sudden dropoff?

People realized it's actually fucking trash pastime.

other forms of entertainment being more accessible I suppose.

Major League Baseball has the smallest percentage of Jewish ownership. It’s probably just a coincidence it’s shilled against so heavily by useless foreigners and faggit muckraking sportswriters.

Cuz the quality is trash and it's still cold outside?

When my dad was a kid he said he saw Mickey Mantle play his last season. They bought two dollar nosebleed tickets and after the first few innings they moved down to field level behind and sat in seats that were empty. Today at Yankee stadium Nosebleeds are $50 a pop. Also thanks to the N.Y. vendors union N.Y. stadiums forbid any outside food or drink so that means they have a monopoly on all food/drink prices. What do you think that means? $15 dollars for an ice cream $20 for chicken fingers another 5 to add some fries. So if a parent wants to bring her their 3 kids to a game that’s $200 minimum for tickets and anyone’s guess how much more if they want to eat. The game is pricing us out.

Also, they forbid upper deck ticket holders to move down to empty seats. I can understand not allowing people
Moving closer the first few innings but why not after the 5th?

Baseball is too slow paced for people these days, is easier to get and adrenaline rush watching apehoop, colisionadd, Iceslip or even s'oyccer.
Also, the players are boring as hell, showboating is viewed as a sin by boomers, so kids can't really relate to them and so on.

If you ever hit a baseball you’d see how wrong you are.

Zoomers only leave the house at night, spending all your time in front of a screen makes your eyes weak and they can't handle sunlight.

Then why are there millions of fat female football fans?
Oh yeah, for the big muscular men.
I just solved baseball, take it or leave it.

Daily reminder that average mlb attendence is higher than all top soccer leagues in the world except epl and Bundesliga

Because the A's are overcharging for their season tickets.

>except epl and Bundesliga
Wow thats absolutely...nothing

proofs?

Ticket prices skyrocketed when teams stopped needing to sell them to remain financially secure.

>the season has been the same length for decades, why the sudden dropoff?
Opening day of baseball has been hyped up for decades, the sharp drop off to regular games has been there for decades. It used to be a sharper drop off, which you can infer from lower average attendance back then while opening day was still often sold out.

How much is a ticket.

Let's say I just walk out of work for the afternoon (and spend some of my precious holiday time) and want to go see the Orioles or something. $10?

April always has lower attendance than mid summer
Ticket prices are getting higher
More teams than ever are tanking in hopes of recreating the success of the Astros and Cubs

Yankee Stadium is one of the more extreme examples but you are correct. No one wants to pay $10 for a beer

Depends on where you sit. For decent seats, you're spending at least 60 in most places

Nothing like paying 100 bucks for a decent seat and $12+ for a beer. Frankly I can buy a six pack for 10 and watch the game in the comfort of my own home while shitposting in a game thread.

true big genius

Ticket prices are pricing out the working class in baseball in the US, football in the UK (Arsenal being a good example).

>baseball is dying
>gets a literal 12 year, $430 million contract

it's gotten way too expensive to be a regular thing for people.
Still I think attendance will be up a little bit over last year, at least not down. all the good teams last year should still be good and there are a few which should have jumps in attendance, phillies, mets, reds, padres, brewers. not that many teams are notably worse than last season and the ones that are already had crap attendance.
average is probably about $30-$40. plus another $20-$30 for parking and if you want a beer or peanuts or something
It can be very cheap though, much more so than other sports. I personally spend about $10 on a trip to the ballpark in Denver. $4 super nosebleed (pic related, the seats at the top there, pretty sure they're furthest seats from home plate at any major league ballpark) tickets are sold 2 hours before the game at the ballpark only. It's fine because I like to catch batting practice anyway, and I also always find a seat a little bit closer to the field anyway. Light rail to and from the stadium costs me $5 and peanuts outside the ballpark cost $2.

Don't be that guy.

What's the cheapest league to visit & watch? Any sport.

probably minor league baseball

Not really worth following unless you're a fan of the team's Major league affiliate

Thats alot of money, but alot of NBA stars earn this much or more yearly, they just don't make ridiculously long contracts.

you don't really need to follow the team to have a good time at the ballpark for a day

The Sox haven't had their home opener, that's why.

A million regular season games, most teams suck, tickets arent cheap, you have to drive into the city, and you have better view from home anyways

People have realized the superiority of Finnish baseball

Steroid era was peak baseball. Like it or not, steroids made the game exciting.

Most stadiums are in urban areas, where people are poor and/or don't care about baseball.

We have other things to do than watch boring sports

There is always a huge drop off in attendence after opening day. What the hell are you talking about? Just because you aren't filling 40000 seat stadiums to the brim 15 times in april in fucking milwaukee or cleveland doesn't mean the sport is dying.

Nigga what
NBA players beg for half that

Exactly.. This.. Football can barely fill 40k stadiums 16 times a year sometimes..

Professional league?
